The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful, as our party included Gluten sensitive requirements. The food met all of our expectations, properly prepared and yummy. The evening could not have been better! Our evening was part of the YYC Food Experience and all the courses were delicious. “Last time I went to Pampas was in 2018. We had never gone back because we didn't like the food. The buffet didn't taste like Brazilian food at all. However, we got Pampa's gift card and decided to try it again with my in-laws. I'm glad we did! The buffet and meat was so good! The drinks were good too! The food in the buffet was well seasoned and there were a lot of Brazilian gauchos who understood about meat. Brooklyn was our service and she was amazing! But that girl worked! She had lots of tables assigned to her, so the service was slow because this girl was running around the restaurant, which was not her fault. Unfortunately, it seemed that no one was helping her. One server was just chilling against the wall and the manager would just walk and look around, but would not ask us if we needed anything or look at us. Brooklyn worked hard! Thanks Brooklyn! My in-laws loved the experience and I did too! I was happy to see more Brazilians working there and the food was pretty good! The Gauchos spoke a bit of Portuguese when my husband practiced his Portuguese. He felt very welcome! We'd definitely go back! They went above and beyond to ensure each meal was cooked perfectly, even offering a fresh side dish upon hearing my comment about the sour cream being too much for me due to my lactose intolerance. Additionally, my steak was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor and juiciness.Our server graciously accommodated our lively table conversations, bringing out a meat board to showcase the cuts and answer our questions. Last year I dined here for my birthday and when the thought of what to do rolled around this year, flying to Calgary seemed both extra, and hilarious. But it stuck. Saltlik, you outdid yourself. I’ve been thinking of the Beeswax Old Fashioned for 366 days and it just hits the spot. Victoria B.C. hasn’t latched onto it yet but it’ll come. Dinner was exceptional but the real star or the show was Trevor. Exceptional service is becoming an almost lost art and this guy has it. His energetic read on the table and tailored charisma is what 90s career servers were made of. The kind of server who questions himself “how do I elevate this experience?!” And then executes. His tag team with Chris to make this birthday nothing short of Calgary perfection is exactly why we ended up here. Everything we had was 10/10, including the bone marrow, Caesar salad, porterhouse steak with mushrooms and gratin as sides. When I come back, I would get the same things again without a doubt. “I've been to all 3 locations now, and I can't say enough good things about Modern Steak. I had the 14oz rib eye cooked to a PERFECT medium rare. “We had their tomahawk steak special, spanakopita, homemade kids chicken strips and a spinach salad. It was the best steak I have ever had. Their butters and steak salts are made fresh in house. Their prices are comparable to other steakhouses in the city but the portions are large and offer greater value. We were one of few tables in the restaurant but I believe they are new. The service was prompt and friendly. I will recommend this restaurant.Vegetarian options: The spanakopita was amazing. Their spinach salad comes with a warm topper and was very filling.“

“Greeter was friendly and professional. Staff behind bar who served me were above industry standards. Food was better than one would expect from Calgary compared to more affluent city centres. Atmosphere was good for the area. My recommendations would be the spacing in the bar area with the tables and stools at bar side especially. Also could bring on security in the lobby due to the crime demographic for that area. Washrooms are beside lobby down 3 flights of stairs so be aware of that. Give this place a try.“
“I have been going here for many years and often go here for birthdays. If you get one of their meals, it comes with salad, soup, rice, a few pieces of shrimp, whatever you ordered, after dinner tea and ice cream. The chefs put on a show, while they cook and the food is always fantastic. The service is always on point and your empty dishes are removed promptly.“
“Seems like a go to spot for work lunches. Their daily specials makes the selection so easy, but portions are very inconsistent. The sandwich I had was half the size as my colleague's and I wouldn't have been full if it wasn't for the fries and soup....and I typically eat less than the average person. Lunch service is always busy but service was also very slow.“
“If you're looking for an authentic fine dining experience, Wellington's is the place. Amazing service, great wine selection, high quality food and generous portions (highly recommend the lamb). You leave feeling full and satisfied, and they truly treat you like a special guest. It's half the cost of some of the "trendier" places in town but with three times the quality. They've also had the same staff long-term, which says something about how they treat their people. Love it. Can't wait for our next visit.“
