“Very satisfied with the subs, very good price and good portion. The sub is almost 12 inches long and you pay less than $10 dollars for it. Very yummy and fresh. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Not a lot of sitting space though.Definitely would recommend it!“
“I can't get enough! Best in the city! I am here 2 times a week easy. When I am heavy in projects and creative this is where I go for a healthy option made with love ❤️Vegetarian options: Has them!Dietary restrictions: Accommodation in full!“
“Great bánh mì. I usually order the đặc biệt when I try out a new shop to see what they're all about. Bread is light and crisp, and the pate is really smooth. It really reminded me of the pate in Vietnam. The cold cuts were also very good. Best special I've had in Calgary so far.I also ordered a bánh mì phá lấu (beef offal stew) to take home for dinner. I've been craving phá lấu for a very long time now and I am glad I've found a place here that sells a good one. The offal doesn't smell and is very tender. The soup is also seasoned very well.Prices are very reasonable compared to other shops as well! This may very well be my new go to bánh mì shop.“
“Vietnamese Chop Chop is a promising spot with the delightful addition of Pandan tea. I opted for the Peanut Beef Satay Pho (#34), while my partner went for the House Special Pho (#11), both in small sizes. The portions were just right, offering a generous amount of meat. The Peanut Beef Satay had a mild spice, leaning towards sweetness with a subtle curry note. The House Special was decent but slightly bland. I'd come back for the flavorful satay experience.“
“Visiting Bonjour Saigon on Sunday has been my new delight routine. The food and service have high level of consistency and showcase their commitment in evaluating Viet cuisine. It's impossible to find fault with anything here. I wholeheartedly recommend Bonjour Saigon to all fellow food enthusiasts in Calgary!“
“Amazing service. Owner is super friendly and the food was super flavourful! Definitely a must try if you’re in the area. Only issue I had was the Vietnamese coffee was a tad on the sweeter side, other than that phenomenal place to stop by.“
“Delicious Vietnamese food! The pho is amazing, the broth is so good. I love the rare beef and it's worth adding the extra veggies to make the soup even more filling. The pork spring rolls are really good too. The owners are so kind, you can tell they really appreciate their customers. Highly recommend!“
“Best vegan/vegetarian vermicelli I've ever had! Loved this place since being recommended there 2020 by a friend saying it was a great meal to take and eat in the park. This pic is what she sent me and I was sold because she's a certified foodie!I've not lived in Calgary since 2021 but it will be my first and last stop the next time in there. I recommend it to anyone going to Calgary and one time had someone drive it to me in Edmonton and it was still good!I usually ordered it to go but the one time I dined in it was a delight ??11/10 recommend! If you order delivery call them directly instead of the apps, very good serviceVegetarian options: Get their tofu vermicelli, comes with 2-3 different types of tofu, spring rolls and veg. See my picture ?“
“We came in for the special Vietnamese 7 Beef Courses meal. Very tasty and enjoyable. Enjoy dining in this clean and neat restaurant. The services were friendly and amazing (always asked if anything we needed). Especially they have the Karaoke station after 8:30pm and weekend live band. I will definitely go back for more Vietnamese dishes. Saigon Chef, keeps it up and all the best!“
“The ladies working were really nice, I got a Vietnamese sub and shrimp salad rolls. The salad rolls were big, flavourful and well assembled. The sub was exceptional; plenty of meat, well balanced vegetables, nicely spicy, and the bun was bang on with lovely crust. I will be back!“
“Great Vietnamese spot that focuses on speciality dishes that are harder to find in a typical pho restaurant. For example, we had the Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu noodle soups with an order of Salt & Pepper Cuttlefish to start. The cuttlefish was very good - light crispy batter and soft meat paired with a kale and tomato salad with a vinegar dressing. The noodle soups were also very flavourful with high quality ingredients and presentation. The only knock for me food-wise was that the portions for the noodle soups were on the smaller side - lots of broth but less noodles and meat compared to other restaurants, especially given the higher price point.I’ll likely come back to try more dishes, but it might be better for lunch given the lighter portions. The space is well decorated and clean, and staff are friendly.“
“The owner and staff of this restaurant are very friendly and helpful. And the food is so good here. I have been here numerous times with family and friends, and have never been disappointed. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone.“
“I was introduced to this restaurant through by boss, and I have been coming every so often ,the food is delicious can't really say what favorite dish is as everything I've tried taste great ,people treat you with respect ,your food comes out right away and the price is “
“Great subs single time. Lunchtime or an early dinner. I respect the hard working people at this takeout spot. Kudos to the whole team for their hard work and dedication. My family appreciates your time and great culinary skills.Vegetarian options: This restaurant has Veg and Tofu sub options.Parking: Angled Parking, a large lot. Although becareful of the potholes.“
“Definitely one of the best vietnamese restaurants I've ever eaten at! I came here for lunch and the place was packed by 12:30, Yet my food came so fast I could hardly believe it. The prices are very affordable. I orded the Lobster seafood satay noodle soup, and some salad rolls. The soup was so flavorful and had 1 full large lobster tail and a small 1/2 tail. This soup was only $20. A normal seafood noodle soup was around $13, so I litterally only paid 7$ for lobster! The salad rolls were big snd fresh, and the peanut sauce was creamy & warm! I will definitely be coming back to try some other dishes.Still the best in Calgary.“
“This was recommended by a relative and I have to say, pretty good. I ordered their OG assorted Viet sub to test out. Wow, pretty good, heavy on the pate(if you love pate). The Banh Mi bun is a bit longer than usually and packed with all the assorted Viet meat. Love it! Prices are higher than other places in this area, but worth the trip. They do offer other items on the menu and seeing people bringing in their own pots. I assume the have a selection of Vietnamese soups ready to go by the pot. Will have to give it a try next time I'm down there.“
“It's the Peter's Drive-In of Vietnamese food! Tried for first time because that's what was closest to me while running errands, and I will be back many times in the future. Had the Beef Saté sub by owner recommendation, and it was fantastic! Spring rolls and iced-coffee equally as good. Fast, friendly, and appropriate prices.Easy to drive right by it, but it's worth turning around if you do miss it!Parking: Plenty of space to park and eat in your vehicle if you desire.“
“One of my favourite restaurants on campus. I order the Viet Deli Sub with a cookie at least twice a week and it always tastes good. Way better then Subway, really friendly staff and for $8, you get a massive Sandwich. I also have to commend this establishment for putting irregular prices on display (e.g: 7.77) that come to a whole number when you add GST, as opposed to most places that add a number like 9.99 which then totals to a weird number like 10.48.Vegetarian options: Solid Vegetarian options for those of y’all that do not eat meat.“
“My wife came here specifically for the Papaya Salad with Shredded Beef Jerky, and it did not disappoint. We ordered several other dishes which were nice and met our expectations. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was spacious. I noticed a karaoke system on one side, which I assume is for later in the night.Parking is aplenty, and it's right in the heart of International Avenue.“
“First time coming here and all I can is it exceeded our expectations. Very clean place, the ambiance is very relaxing and they are very friendly. For the taste, portion, service and food the price is reasonable. Highly recommended for the people who loves Vietnamese noodles. We will be coming back here for sure.“
“Have been recommended this shop for their Viet desserts and we are finally able to try today their ‘traffic light che’ also ‘flantastic che’. They taste great not too sweet which we love also the portion is good for the price with a variety of extra toppings that you can add to. Highly recommend ??“
“First time trying pho here since it’s hard to find a halal spot, however, they had halal pho! It was super tasty the broth had a very nice and strong flavour and we enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the restaurant as well. Would definitely come again!“
“My Girlfriend and I decided to try out VyThi since I met the owner who was just starting out and came to our shop for marketing materials. Since we love Vietnamese Cuisine, we decided to go for a drive from the SW all the way to the NE to try them out. IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE. Not only were we welcomed and treated invitingly (she did that to everyone who came in with a huge smile), The Chicken vermicelli was amazing. The seasoned chicken made was made to perfection and the spring rolls where a great favourable experience that topped off the great DISH. I told the owner not to change a thing as it was the Best Chicken Vermicelli we have ever had. We look forward to going back to try the SUBS. This place is a hidden gem. Keep going and keep the great food rolling. We support local and we will support her and her family's restaurant for years to come“
“Came here on a Tuesday afternoon at 12:20PM and there was plenty of seating available. I was highly recommended by 2 separate friends that this is THE spot in town for pho.I ordered #1 Pho Xuan Special and it was one of the best bowls of pho that I've had and very affordable ($12-$15.50). The broth tasted very clean and homey, being not too salty or full of MSG. I got the small size it was a great portion with plenty of noodles. We also ordered the spring rolls which were perfect in size and flavour. I also ordered the fresh durian milkshake which was delicious.Highly recommend for a great vowl of pho when in Calgary and would come back to try other items.“
“Love their beef sate! After speaking with the owner who LEARNED how to cook when she came to Canada just so she could eat the authentic Vietnamese subs she used to have was impressive. She said all of her menu items are all of her recipes. You could taste the value for sure and the portions they put in their subs are always generous compared to other places I've tried. Understandably, she had to raise her prices due to inflation. But as long as she doesn't go too crazy, I'm happy to keep supporting her business!“
“We stopped in because I have been searching for a comparable curry soup to replace a dish from Doans restaurant in Edmonton that closed down. I had read that this curry chicken soup was good. This did not disappoint! It’s not exactly the same however it’s tasty in its own right and is a great way to fill the hole that has been empty within me for many years. Worth the drive for us to come. Big portions and reasonably priced. We also had a vermicelli bowl, spring rolls, and salad rolls which were great as well. Will definitely come back when I need another fix for some curry soup!“
“I love tiki, and this is probably the closest you’ll get to an “authentic” tiki experience in Calgary. Just missing a fake volcano spewing stage fog and surf movies on some television.(Yes. I am aware that it’s a Vietnamese restaurant that serves tiki drinks, but just add some decorations and you have a fusion smash hit in the works. - maybe some Spam Fried Rice too)Dietary restrictions: People with Nut Allergies should avoid.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.“
“Viet Bites offers friendly and warm service and menu options that are a bit more unique and special compared to most other Vietnamese restaurants in town. The egg coffee in particular was delicious and heartening. Only downside is not much dining space so might be better for takeout.“
“I was just strolling by and felt like some soup on a chilly day. Figured I'd pop in to warm up. The soup definitely hit the spot. I tried their Sate Peanut soup and it was to die for. The service was incredible, I felt very welcome there! I will be back for sure!“
“We felt we found a gem and everyone looking for authentic Vietnamese food should try this restaurant. Service is friendly and fast. Flavours are spot on and portions are generous. We had the trio appetizer, beef pho, banh mi and Vietnamese coffees. Can’t wait to come “
“Went here two Fridays in a row with the family. The man working here was very polite and friendly. The food was great. We had the Sate Beef Pho and two different meat vermicelli and spring roll bowls. My son who is a picky eater gladly ate his vermicelli bowl. Will keep returning.“
“The food was super delicious and the owner is so kind and genuine! I loved the vibe there and the food was so so good!! Love that there’s vegan/vegetarian restaurants like this with authentic taste. Will definitely come back and recommend to others! A hidden gem ?“
“Tried their bánh mì đặc biệt, bánh mì que, & cà phê sữa đá. A decent meal overall.I don't remember if they asked me if I wanted my bread toasted because they came out cold. Surprisingly the bread was still crisp which was nice. The cold cuts were all tasty but I feel like it would've been better toasted.I recently came back from Vietnam so I was excited to finally find a place that has bánh mì que. I noticed that they added a bit of jam (classic pairing with pate) which was a nice touch. Again, probably would've been better toasted. The coffee wasn't too bad. Not as thick and sweet compared to your typical Vietnamese coffee.“
“I don't know what to say, this place is BOMB! me and my boyfriend usually gets food like this somewhere near our house and we found this place because it has good rating even though it's 25 minutes our house but you wouldn't regret buying from this place. This is literally the BEST vietnamese place we've been to.“
“Im so happy they survived the pandemic!! The subs are still as good as i remembered it and glad its close to my office. Their buns are absolutely the best as super crunchy but super soft at tbe same time. I find the bun can make it or break it when it comes to a good banh mi sandwich. One thing to note is that their prices have gone up, as im sure all businesses, with the rise of food costs and inflation. My assorted was $14 before gst and tip. The owners are super friendly and i love going there.“
“First time here, saw good reviews before coming. Good atmosphere, smelled great. Booth had some old sauce stains on the wall/on the far end of the seat. Partner ordered the saté brisket pho and I ordered the large special pho. Taro bubble tea was a little smaller in size than expected and a tad too syrupy-sweet. Combination skewer appetizer was fresh but the shrimp was smaller serving than the meat ot chicken. Pho bowls are generous serving overall a good experience.“
“Tried the special house pho and the beef wrapped in leaf vermicelli bun bowl.Unbeatable prices here, wow!! $12.50 for a bowl of pho in 2023! The vermicelli bowl was $14. Portion size is consistent with other veitnamese restaurants charging a lot more.Service was very fast and hospital.Wide variety of items that include banh xeo, shrimp paste on sugar cane, quail, stir fried noodles, HOT POT, DIY TABLE BBQ, whole fish, and drinks. Can't wait to go back for more.“
“Delicious banh mi! The lovely lady working there suggested what the popular items were and we went with satay beef. Fantastic! Bread and all the ingredients were super fresh. It is cash only but you get a huge sandwich for 10$. Can't be beat!“
“Great little restaurant. Quaint, seems to be owned and run by a single couple who greet me with a friendly smile every time I come in. They've even stayed open a little longer so I could enjoy one of my favorite meals after work, and always show their appreciation for me as a customer. In fact, they're as welcoming as my own family is when I come over for family dinners. The food is excellent. I always get the house special (stir fry on crispy egg noodles) because it's so delicious.“
“Vietnamese food is definitely one of my favourite cuisines so I had high expectations for this place. The atmosphere was very modern and there was plenty of seating and was quite comfortable as well. The service was amazing as our food came quick and the server frequently came by to fill up our water. Finally the food which was incredible, the broth in the Pho was great and the meat was extremely tender so no complaints from me. My friends said the crepe, subs and vermicelli were all very flavourful and tender. Overall if I’m in the area I will definitely drop by here.Vegetarian options: Lots of options“
“I've had a LOT of pho in my life. There's no bad pho, but there's mid pho and there's creative new-style pho... This is neither.Uncle Ten's pho is hands-down the best I've had in Canada so far. Tripe is minced nicely like noodles, rare flank is tender and tendon are perfectly chewy, not too soft. And of course the soul of pho, the broth, is perfect. Star anise in there, you just want to forget you're in a restaurant and finish that bowl by drinking from it.10/10 I will be back, this is a place that cares about food.“
“Best Vietnamese food in Calgary! Located in a convenient little neighborhood spot! My husband and I have been going here consistently since we moved to this part of town a year or so ago. The food is great, the service is amazing, they are prompt - the food is always good and the order is always right!! I've tried many of their menu items now - all delicious!! Will go here forever!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options!“
“my first visit to this place was on New year's Day and we were delightfully surprised with a wonton appetizer on the house in celebration of them being open for a year!even if we hadn't gotten this lovely treat, I'd still have come back as many times as I have since then because the pho is incredible and the staff are lovely.this is my new favourite Vietnamese restaurant.“
“I was delighted when my friends agreed on Vietnamese for lunch after we arrived at the airport before heading to Banff and Saigon Red Sky totally hit the spot! We got shrimp spring rolls which came out freaky fast and I had a bowl of pho ga. I ordered the regular size and this was plenty to fill my belly! The broth was perfection and everyone enjoyed their dishes! Service was fast and attentive and I'd totally recommend this place!“
“The beef sate sub is my new favourite, and the shrimp salad rolls are simple but delicious. I have eaten here more than 10 times and will continue to go back. One thing to note is that it gets very busy right around noon, it is best to go early or late if you are in a rush!“
“I've come here many times after work and almost tried every main on the menu.Favorites are Shaking Beef on macaroni and Tom Yum Pasta but lots of good choices. As long as you like strong spicy flavors and fresh garlic, you'll be happy.Family run restaurant. Owner operator always has a smile on her face and makes you feel like you're eating at a friend's place.“
“Good food, affordable price, kind staffsSate sub has yummy, chewy taste full of fresh ingredients-cilantro,veggies,beef.Thai peanut soup was a little bit bland without sate sauce (given on the side). The thing I didn't like was how overcooked the noodle was. Overall loved the vibe of this small diner. Def. visit later for something else“
“My first experience with Vietnamese cuisine at Dragon Boat was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to their incredible combo platter featuring pork roll and beef. The pork roll was perfectly tender, while the beef was juicy and flavorful. Accompanied by fresh herbs, crunchy vegetables, and delicious dipping sauces, every element of the platter was a delight to the senses. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance only added to the wonderful dining experience. Highly recommended to anyone looking to explore the delicious flavors of Vietnam!“
“Excellent.I have been looking for years to find the best pho in Calgary and I think I finally found it. I have lived all over the west coast of the United States and Canada and have had some really good pho in my time but for some reason, all of the pho in Calgary I have experienced up until now has been bland. This was not the case here. The noodles were seasoned, the broth was rich, and the service was just how I like it - not too much not too little. I went with my two-year-old and the staff was very accommodating and kind. I got the meat ball pho with tendon (tendon wasn’t on the menu, but they accommodated me anyway!).Great place. Do yourself a favour and stop in for some food.“
“I doordash a #66 beef short ribs. The short ribs were delicious and received a good amount. I wish the rice was more tradition broken rice. The spring rolls were my favourite, the wrapper was a little thick so it made it a bit chewy. overall would order “
