“It lives up to its name! DANG it's GOOD ?their menu offers a wide range of pho options, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarian. I had a hard time deciding, but eventually settled on something new to me and haven't tried before and now it's the best soup ever... I got their COCONUT SEAFOOD SOUP, with prawns, scallops, mussels, squid, crab sticks), I didn't know Coconut and Seafood pair taste so goooood... my friends got their Chicken Pho, with a decent/fairly large amount of chicken breast... Green Onion Cakes are made to order, so they are pipping hot but still love itThe service was great, their staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing helpful recommendations.Went here on Friday 1:20pm, and they're still fairly busy... So we had to wait for our food to be ordered and serve.Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Vegetarian options: The other side of their menu are dedicated for vegetarian options!Dietary restrictions: Please let them know of your dietary restrictions beforehand ☺️“
“This was my first time trying a Vietnamese restaurant. I was sick and my friend took me there to try noodles, and it was amazing. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Our server kindly taught me how to use chopsticks, and she was truly fantastic.“
“The place isn't large and can get busy, so expect to wait, but not excessively. Their fried chicken is a must-try; well-seasoned and fried to perfection. If you're not a meat lover like my daughter, the calamari is another excellent option. The pho serving size is decent, but I prefer my broth piping hot. By the time I finished my chicken, the broth had cooled down. Fortunately, I was already full from the chicken and took the rest home.“
“A friend told me I must try this restaurant, it did not disappoint!! I had the spicy noodle soup and it was perfect not too spicy, but definitely hit the spot. If you are not vegetarian or vegan still give it a try the food is amazing. I will definitely be back for more!“
“There is simply no better place for Vietnamese food in Alberta!! Than at the Golden Bird. Their food is wonderful and no cutting corners. They serve the best available. AND their deep fried spring rolls are unparalleled!!! I have eat Vietnamese food all over Alberta and no one can do it like Golden Bird. Five out of Five in my books!!“
“Incredibly good, the food was tasty and delicious ? !! The only downside is that there isn't a ton of seating, and the people beside me were weirdly eavesdropping. Anyways, go and eat a ton of good Vietnamese food. I had multiple dishes, and each was impressive. The food came out hot and fast.Kid-friendliness: The food was good, and the kids ate it without any issue.“
“This place will make you understand why we used to go to war for spices. The food is phenomenal and perfectly seasoned. Try the chicken wings, and begin the second half of your life where you're finally aware of what "flavor" actually means.“
“What should a restaurant do when customers bring in a SHRILL -18 month old that screamed every 4-5 minutes to the bemusement of the parents. My wife was so annoyed; she left the restaurant. I requested take out containers. The adjacent table likewise followed suit and asked for takeout containers. Both myself and the fellow from the other table had words with the dad. All this time the restaurant personnel failed to talk to the offending table. Loved the food; will return.“
“I popped into Rice King for some Pho for lunch on my last trip to Edmonton. Its a quiet little place and the staff are friendly.I did my usual order of Pho, spring rolls, and vietnamese ice coffee. The coffee was standard, nice and enjoyable, however the spring rolls weren't good, they were okay, tasted like permade frozen spring rolls bought from a groccery store. The Pho was good, its very affordable and not a large portion size. They have very reasonable price. The meat was tasty and the broth and noodles were too.If you're in the neighbourhood and looking for lunch this is a good place.Again good price point and nice Pho, just needs in house made spring rolls or a different distributor.Service and staff were great, Pho tasty just those spring rolls bordered on being bad, so 4 stars.Vegetarian options: Its Pho, omit the meat and enjoy the noodles.Kid-friendliness: Families welcome.Parking: Fair amount of parking, not a huge number of stalls.“
“The spicy beef satay soup is all you need to know and have at this place- to DIE for! Be prepared for how spicy it can be though - if you can’t do very spicy, ask for a mild version of it!Sadly this resto is not open very late - I’d come here more often for dinner if it was! But can also understand that it’s just as good for lunch. Amazing staff and service here too - certainly one of the best restaurants in Edmonton for all occasions!“
“I've never had such elite customer service. There is a extremely friendly waitress who served me today. Unbelievably personal, accurate and friendly. I will return to this location because of the service. The food was great. The atmosphere is subtly plain but warm. A few tvs helped the vibe. But again I go back to the service. Its 5 star!!!!“
“Came here for the first time, we asked our phone the nearest place for pho. We weren’t disappointed. We had the A1 appetizer plate, rare beef pho and the bun bo hue. Outstanding! In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, “I’ll be back.”“
“Came here over the weekend with my friend and it was such an amazing experience! Winter was phenomenal with her customer service, she recommended me her go to order which was the satay beef and it was delicious, gave the viet ice coffee a try and it was sooooo good!“
“If you're anything like me, when you're in the mood to go for Vietnamese food, there are no shortages of Vietnam restaurants available in Edmonton to satisfy your cravings. My wife and I are no strangers to many of these restaurants because it's one of our staples at least several times a month. Each restaurant has its own unique dish(es) so if you're anything like me, I take note of what dish each place is famous for...(at least to me and my wife). Hands down, the spring rolls will be Golden Bird. Salad Rolls would be Siam Thai Restaurant, but in this case, we decided we wanted Pho. And the best place to go for Pho, is Calgary Trail Restaurant in Edmonton. When you first walk in the decor is exactly the same as it was some 20 years ago, so it does need to be updated, but I don't come for the atmosphere...I come for exceptionally good food at a price that is totally fair for what you get. The gentleman who owns the establishment is always very quiet but when you get him talking he's really quite funny. I automatically ordered their very special Vietnamese iced coffee to start. If you haven't tried it before then you're in for a treat. Each restaurant uses their own espresso blend but Calgary Trail Restaurant uses (in my opinion) the best, which makes it outstanding. My wife on the other hand ordered the 3 colors Vietnamese drink. A traditional coconut based concoction that uses red bean and grass jelly, which creates a kaleidoscope of colors in your glass. It's really quite delicious. We invited 2 other friends to join us and I ordered the spring rolls and salad rolls to get the evening off to a good start. My wife ordered the very unusual Dill Fish Cake soup. She described her soup as a delicate but flavorful broth, that came with tender fish cake patties infused with a wonderful dill flavor. She absolutely loved it. I ordered my usual... number 118. Sweet and sour soup with Shrimp and Chicken. This place absolutely knocks this soup out of the park. With the sweet chunks of tomato and pineapple combined with spicy chicken broth with good sized prawns and chunks of chicken breast. A real satisfying meal that makes you leave nothing in the bowl at the end. It's so delicious, that it will be a soup that not only satisfies you but it literally nourishes the soul. It's our go to place when we want great food in a virtually quiet atmosphere. This place should be packed but unfortunately it never is. This is one place that will give you value for your hard earned money. So I suggest anyone reading this should patronize Calgary Trail Restaurant. If not, we may lose a hidden gem forever.“
“This isn't some fancy Jimjam joint. What it is is really good food for a reasonable price and I love it. I live close so am able to pick up something to go and eat their lovely food in the comfort of my couch. I am never disappointed!“
“My wife and I moved here last year with our new born daughter, and this was one of the first places we went to. The food is absolutely top notch, and the portion sizes are so big, we have had delicious left overs every single time we go. Aside from that, the owner is extremely nice and welcoming. She has been nothing but kind and thoughtful to our family, and really helped make us feel at home. Whether it's take out or dining in, I can't recommend this place enough.“
“I went here with my wife around 20mins before they closed shop, and got a veggie noodle pho and veggie banh mi. We sat and ate there, and the flavours were very comforting, warm, and savoury. I've never had home cooked Vietnamese meals - but I imagine this is what it wouls be like. Simple and savoury. The owner was very polite and I will definitely be back for more!“
“A place where you can eat Vietnamese food at a reasonable price. Like other restaurants, there is a separate 5% tax on food. You order and pay for food and drinks at the entrance (cash and debit cards only), and if you sit at an empty seat, the food will be brought to you.The restrooms are clean and it is a place where you can eat comfortably. The price was reasonable, so I packed food number 4 and took it home. Cảm ơn(Thanks) 감사합니다. ?? ?? ??“
“We recently ordered take out from the McTaggart location. The kalamari was excellent. Plenty, tasty, and easy to chew. The pho soups were delicious, the beef bone broth was very tasty. Only the onion cakes were a disappointment, mostly bread, not much onion and not much taste. We will definitely be back.“
“First time here, I had a Cambodian vermicelli soup with pork and shrimp. Delicate broth, generous portion! Hubs had a rice plate with everything... pork chop, beef on a stick, shrimp and sausage. That was really good too (I had to sneak a few bites). Great owner! Gave us recommendations for our next visit.“
“The spring rolls and soups are some of the best I've ever had! Family run restaurant with extremely friendly service. Location is iffy but atmosphere inside is lovely. I could not recommend Nha Trang more! My go to dishes are the Curry beef spring rolls and the spicy beef satay soup.“
“Absolutely love it! I have been trying different kinds of subs and they all taste great! Food is very affordable.A reminder: their green pepper is very spicy. If you are a spicy lover like me, go for it. If not, don’t forget to ask them not put any of it!“
“My new favorite noodle place on Whyte. After the closure of so many Pho/Ramen (I know grouping them is awful) places in town, I was lost, until I decided to give Pho Delight a try.Went for a late night dinner. The lady who served me was amazing, friendly and quick. The food (chef's Pho) was amazing. The price was perfectly fair.If you want a place to get some Pho in Edmonton, go here.“
“This place is a hidden gem! The food is always amazing and the customer service is even better! The guy who's always there does a phenomenal job and always does his best to make sure you are happy :) I forget what they're called but it's some kind of rice avocado and crab meat with a drizzle and charred jalapeno on top, It is soooo good!“
“I always get takeout at this location usually number 33 lemongrass, chicken, vermicelli, and salad rolls. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. Portion sizes are nice. I am never hungry afterward! Young lady who took my order and took my payment, was very friendly and very pleasant to deal with!Dietary restrictions: They have many GF options!“
“I moved to the area a few years ago and found time today to visit for lunch. I ordered the #34 and asked them to hold the green onions. The food was very delicious and the grilled pork was super tender, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The couple there were very kind. The restaurant is really the perfect size for a family run business and those who may feel overwhelmed by the atmosphere of big crowds. It felt very cozy and cute.I ordered take out, and they made sure to give me cutlery and a sturdy bag. I also liked that they had signs up saying they had to charge a little bit for the take out container (totally fair, the price of everything has gone up). Will come back soon!“
“Tau Bay has been the best pho restaurant in Edmonton for more than a decade. The quality and portion of the food is unbeatable, especially when considering the price. In terms of their pho: the soup is really good, the quality and type of meat they offer is pretty amazing, and the ratio between the noodle and meat is great (so much meat). Overall, I'd give them 9.3/10.“
“Came in for a quick bite. Ordered the king special pho XL sized and some spring rolls. My cousin ordered the same but got the soup in a medium size. I do enjoy that they have a variety of sizes for the pho. I will say the XL size is quite large. They definitely give you a lot for your $. Although it wasn't amazing, this is still a pretty good pho place. Definitely recommend. Service was a bit slow but they were very nice.“
“Have driven by this restaurant hundreds of time, but never gone in. Finally tried it and was super impressed!!! The green onion cakes, salad rolls, and vermicelli bowls??? All delicious!!! I felt that the portions were generous and the prices very reasonable.Don't be misled by the appearance of the restaurant .... this place is well worth it. We will definitely be returning!!!!“
“We came here while in the area when my kid wanted their favourite meal option: lemongrass beef. This may not be the most common preference for preschoolers but mine loves it so very much that we seek out Vietnamese restaurants for it specifically. The kid really enjoyed the lemongrass beef which came with great noodles, vegetables, fish sauce and so on.I had a great vermicelli bowl. It was topped with great toppings of the meat/seafood options. My partner got the pho. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the kid loved the décor in the restaurant. Service was very attentive and staff confirmed that my kid did indeed want the flavourful lemongrass beef. I'd definitely come here again if in the area. And I know my kid would too.“
“I had the 5 flavour vermicelli bowl and my wife had wonton noodle soup, it was probably the best vietnamese food we have had! Lots of meat in my bowl and soup was full of flavor and really good wontons. Definitely going back!Been back several times, never a disappointment! We go out of our way to eat there!!!“
“Excellent food. We had the 4 color Vermicelli Bowl, Beef Satay, Wonton Soup and Onion Cake. All were very flavorful and filling. Definitely one of our favorites now! Decent priced, I recommend for any occasion. Nice ambient music and decor.“
“Amazing food. Amazing service. The only reason we ended up here is because we first went to Teriyaki Corner a few doors down and were literally ignored for nearly ten minutes before we walked out... Best thing we could have done. Mini Mango was amazing! Keep it up. We will be back.“
“My partner and I discovered this gem about a month ago and we have been back four times...so yes, I highly recommend checking this beautiful establishment out because AMAZING doesn't even begin to cover it. There are so many delicious things on the menu and I've liked everything I've tried. The Curry Chicken Noodle Soup is my favorite so far and the Southern Vietnamese Noodle Soup is his favorite. The staff are kind and efficient and the prices are also great. Thank you so much, we've found our new favorite date spot ❤️“
“One of the better places I’ve been to for a great bowl of Pho; also enjoyed the spring rolls and green onion cakes. Very clean, good portions, quality tasting food and awesome staff. It’s in my old neighborhood and easy access off major routes of 50th Street and Baseline road. A good addition to the Capilano area, we will most definitively be back. Go try it for yourself.“
“Our friend in Edmonton recommended for us to try some authentic Vietnamese food at this Co Chin Saigon Restaurant. We decided to drop by for lunch as we were hungry for some Pho Noodles. We ordered Papaya Salad (shredded green papaya topped with roasted peanuts… this has fresh flavours and crunchy textures with sweet savoury dressing and chillies on the side), Pho Noodle Soup (medium rare beef, brisket and meatballs with freshly prepared broth), Spicy Bun Bo Pho Noodles (spicy beef noodle soup with sliced beef brisket, beef shank, pork boneless rolled shank, cube of congealed pork blood [we requested not to have this item in our soup] and topped with spicy lemon grass sauce. We also ordered Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (grilled lemongrass pork, homemade pork spring rolls with cucumbers, lettuce and pickle, roasted peanuts and green onions). Everything tasted delicious and appetizing!“
“came in for dinner with some friends while we were on a time crunch and they were very accommodating! food came out fast and service was very friendly! the server accidentally brought a wrong food item and was VERY apologetic about it and offered to get us a new dish but we ended up loving what was brought out. after our meal, he gave us green onion cakes on the house for the mix up (which were sooo yummy). all in all this was a great experience for us! 10/10 would come back!“
“Food is great, more of a healthier option compared to most in the court imo. Usually order the grilled chicken and pork slices with rice and veggies. I forget the number but its really good. Bubble tea for the drink if not a water.Service is pretty helpful and kind. Mall seating so not much to say about the atmosphere. Takes a few minutes to get your food ready which is no big deal.“
“They have fusion style of Asian foods. I’ve heard the cocktail is really good. I don’t remember which one I tried but it was actually really good? For food, salmon maki was simple in a good way. Mango shrimp salad was both sweet and a little spicy, so good?? And Pad Thai was really good. The noodle was chewy, the sauce was so spicy cuz I ordered them to make it really spicy lol I forgot to take picture, but I ordered beef salad roll too. It was enough big actually, and taste good. They have so many options of foods and I want to try other meals someday?“
“me and my boyfriend have been coming here for years, it is our favourite. the staff is truly wonderful, they all know our orders by heart and we usually order a variety of things off the menu. food comes no longer than 15 minutes even when the place is packed full! cant recommend this place enough. love it here!“

“Absolutely love this place! The gluten free Banh Mi is amazing, I really love the crispy pork belly. The salad rolls and green onion cakes are also delicious. The staff are all super nice and the service was quick as well. Can’t recommend this place enough!Dietary restrictions: They have a full gluten free menu with separate sauces and are very careful when preparing the food.“
