What's not to love? Chef Nate and his crew are 10 for 10 turning out high-end, interesting gourmet food. Their takeout menu is the best!! Run, don't walk to Altura.

The food is fantastic! I always go for their "First Catch," usually with the BBQ chips, but I got tater tots recently, and I highly recommend them!

Altura Bistro (Anchorage)This is my first review and first time eating at Altura. I would describe it as a seafood and steakhouse . You get free bread and butter. Which were yummy , the bread was warm, soft and fluffy and the butter was whipped with black salt. The service was excellent. The servers were attentive and the food came fast and perfectly timed. Such as we finished the bread , the app came , we finished the app, the entrees came .We ordered ....Drinks : wine based cocktails. It was a good drink and squeeze the lime in the drink and it's betterappetizer : pork belly .Pork belly has crispy ends and juicy inside. It was on top of a bed of cabbages that had vinegary dressing.Entree: chicken confit . I liked the ravioli and the chicken was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. It was saltier than I liked.New York steak . Cooked perfectly to medium rare and delicious . It came with potatoes.Dessert: creme brulee . It comes with a garlic crumble but it tastes like chocolate which was nice !Overall a 4.5/5 rating . Would come back again

Food was great! Oysters were phenomenal. Though the interior feels unrefined and unmistakably strip mall, I'll go again.Kid-friendliness: Don't bring kids to fine dining, unless they can keep quiet.

We order takeout for lunch meetings and work gatherings. The food is delicious, and everything is always labeled and packed perfectly. You can't go wrong everything on the menus is top quality. ?

Sparse servings-don't be hungry. Pretty presentation but not much there. Clipped Wait staff... AMAZINGLY expensive about $200 for -2 people, no dessert, some prawns, just entree w/ scoop of mashed potatoes and a taste of veggie and 2 coffee (no refills there, of course, just french press available)...rather austere and simplistic for ambiance. Not impressed with pretty as much as a satisfying meal...which it really wasn't.

I found this place by accident, as I was staying at the hotel a block over. Blew all my expectations away. The food and service was incredible. The bisque is to die for, and the meat was cooked to perfection. I will visit again next time I'm in Anchorage.

Great service, amazing food. We had the seasonal gnocchi for an appetizer, Alaskan black cod and scallops for dinner and the clafoutis for dessert. All were absolutely amazing! 100% recommend!

This was all three of our first times to Altura. The service at Altura was good...commiserate with typical "Alaskan fine dining" experiences, including friendly staff. The ambience was satisfactory, though it didn't feel very cozy. Most of the food was tasty and presented well. Unfortunately, two out of three of us ordered the Wagyu Ribeye Steaks. These steaks were quite literally the saltiest pieces of meat that both of us had ever eaten. We joked and called it "Corned Wagyu Ribeyes" and "Wagyu Ribeye Jerky". Though these steaks were far saltier than corned beef or jerky. Our third friend ordered the crab mac & cheese, and he had positive things to say about it. He tried our ribeyes and also commented on how salty they were. We couldn't taste much of anything aside from salt. I believe this dish alone was approximately $130...$120 of this cost must've been salt! LoLI believe both of us were embarrassed to say anything, and neither of us wanted to "complain". My friend ate less than half of his. I choked down mine over a 1.5-2-hour period as a point of silly pride. Looking back, we should've said something to our server.I would say that everything else was great. But the insanely salty $130 steaks really soured (or salted) our experience.Today I decided to call them just to let them know...hopefully to save them and other customers from a similar experience. The host was receptive and appreciative. She offered that the manager would call me back soon. Based on how that goes, I may revise my review.Officially renamed to Saltura Bistro.
