I'm tired of writing the same review, but this is another example of an Anchorage restaurant that opened years ago with a bang and has done nothing since to improve, meaning they've actually slid backward. Our server was a bit awkward. It would have been fine, but he talked a LOT, always overstaying his welcome. Pineapple mocktail was fabulous. Spicy tuna app was pretty good but not the least bit spicy. Fries were meh. Burger was salty AF, I spit out the second bite. Banana dessert tasted nice but the dough was wet and too chewy. Won't ever return.

Dinner Review aka a search for Sunday night fancy food . I understand why so many places take Sunday and Monday off, but for folks with off set schedules - finding a nicer place to eat out can be a challenge when it's not Friday or Saturday.Often recommend here for a celebration meal. ginger came through as expected. Amazingly consistent after 17 years. We had a 6pm reservation but it was not needed. They could have taken a walk-in party easily through 8pm. Service was fast. Bar was busier than restaurant. What we had:SHAREDPomme Frites - sharable portion, came hot and crispy and stayed that way to the bottom of the cone. These are worth the trip alone. Have frites and drinks for a complete experience. (Not pictured, standard fry shape, served in a cone)Eggrolls- also very hot (I can't stand food that has obviously sat under a warmer) beware of grease that may burn, good dipping sauce, packed with meat (half a roll hiding in back of my salad)HIMFried Chicken- best dish of the night, chickpea flour is a unique coating, big chicken chunks, spicey sauce (make your lips a little poofy spicey, not eyes watering spicey). Husband would have preferred it be dark meat, but still loved it.MEBanana lemon grass soup with crab and eggplant. Yup it sounds weird. Yup it's always tasty. I got the bowl but took half home (appetizers were filling). VERY light on crab and you need to enjoy eating long strands of grass. I'm fine with both as the overall dish is well constructed.Strawberry salad- I enjoy butter lettuce but it's a softer leaf that got drowned by the dressing when mixed up. I'd get all dressing on the side next time. Nuts and strawberries were excellent. Not sure where they found ripe berries in March but yum!Dessert- matcha creme brulee. Shell has more than the classic crunch so be prepared for shards of sugar. Custard was very thick and great green tea flavor, sweet not grassy. More tasty strawberries. It's a lot for one person but I'm a trooper. Husband opted for a Spanish coffee instead which is so fantastically complex and a great dessert drink.Beverages-Cosmo- light pour great for a DD, not great as a cocktail (pictured)Vieux carre- complex new Orleans style cocktail. Get it if you like strong stuff (pictured)Pineapple shrub mocktail (not pictured). Stupid good flavor. House made shrub.Classic martini (not pictured)- served in a vintage round glass not an 80s v shape which is fun. Gin is gin. ??‍♀️

I had the General Ts'anders and it was delicious. I love a good fusion restaurant and Ginger nails it. Service was great as well, lovely staff who answer any questions you may have.

We showed up before the dinner rush. Place was pretty empty. We ordered drinks and received them fairly quickly. Ordered one appetizer and our dinners. Appetizer didn't come. Place filled up, everyone was eating before us. We finally asked about 35 minutes later. She brought out our food but it was just barely warm, so it had been sitting. They clearly forgot us, but the manager and server just made excuses. Would have been way better if they would have just said, hey sorry we forgot. Did comp 1 meal. Spring rolls were good, burger was good, drinks were good.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We could not have been happier. The food was delicious. And our waitress, Crystal, was the best! The service was quite exceptional. We loved everything about our evening at Ginger.

I had amazing service at the bar. Amanda was kind and quick! I was in town for a solo trip and am so glad I checked this place out. I wanted to grab dinner before sundown, so I arrived around 5:40 and there wasn’t a crowd. As I left (close to 6:30), the crowds rolled in. Glad I went early! The poke bowl was possibly the best I’ve ever had. If I ever go back to Anchorage, I will be back!

This is the third time I've visited, and each has been overall a great experience. I have several major dietary restrictions, and I've always been really happy with the variety of options I've had! This most recent time I had the fried chicken, and it was quite tasty. Great atmosphere for a formal work dinner!

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant. The table was ready when we showed up. Service was great. The food was also fantastic. What makes a meal great is that the sides which were all really good. Overall one of the top places to eat in Anchorage

This is the second time in the past few months that I've had terrible service at Ginger prior to attending a performance at the PAC. I know that they get slammed with everyone all at once, but our waiter didn't seem to manage his time at tables very well and they were overall very disorganized. We ordered quickly and the food still took a bit longer than expected. That I can understand, but my friend got the wrong soup and the wrong drink. When our waiter brought our bill he also brought us leftovers that were not ours. He just seemed a bit scatter-brained as he spent too long talking to some tables instead of checking on his other tables. Luckily the food is still very good, but I do not recommend going there before a show.

Once again great meal, wonderful service and not extremely expensive comparatively. Tonight we had beef panang curry, a lovely noodle dish, vegan curry, a few Old Fashioneds and an amazing pear ginger cheese cake!

My last night in Alaska-- Ginger's is where my family met for cocktails and hordurves. The drinks and food were excellent. Furthermore, the atmosphere was memorable. If you are ever downtown in Anchorage I highly recommend Gingers.

Dined for anniversary. Hubby disappointed in $38 Mac n cheese w/ 4 scallops. Sauce was just okay in his opinion. Not one smile from ANY of the staff during entire visit/did not feel welcoming. Risotto balls appetizer was best thing about the experience, they were very good. Martinis had too much vermouth in them and the curry dish comes in one bowl including the rice so no sharing, very light on the meat, and wasn’t asked spice level preference. Overall, disappointing.

We had one of the best espresso martinis in Anchorage. Our server James was spot in with service.Food was fabulous. Glad we went early to have the filet and prosciutto wrapped shrimp. Will definitely recommend and be back.
