“Lovely family-owned and operated coffee and smoothie bar. Definitely take a few and stop in to see Tony and Cassandra for the best cup of joe around or fruit-full blended smoothie! Their Ethiopian blend was so delicious, I couldn't leave without taking a couple other options from the smoothie menu. And no surprise- they were all delectable! Named after the beautiful daughters of Tony D, 7 Angels is a hometown shop worthy of the name, as their spirits shine brightly and happily there. Will definitely be visiting again, and I highly suggest you do the same.”

“Absolutely awesome. Came to do a repair on the owner’s car, and we decided to get food when we went in to talk to her. I got the fried pork chop plate with corn nuggets and mashed potatoes. Everything was made fresh, and steaming when she set the plates on our table! The fried pork chop was honestly the best I’ve ever ate, and the sides were delicious. I washed it down with a very reasonable $2 large cup of sweet tea, (with refills) and was full to bursting when I left. 10/10 would recommend.”

“Take your tastebuds on a magical journey that will delight and thrill. This is as authentic as it gets for Greek cuisine in Alabama. There is most definitely truth in advertising as everything was indeed tasty. Since I couldn’t decide on what to order I instinctively went for a whole assortment of different flavor profiles. The baked chicken is the tell , if you go to a Greek restaurant and they don’t have a good baked chicken… walk out. This should be a staple on every single Greek menu. Seemingly innocuous but it is the cannery in the coal mine so to speak for what you can expect for the rest of the meal. It outperformed even my high expectations. Served with a grilled lemon to squeeze over the top it was perfectly salted and not over or under cooked. Our sides were the Greek fries (which were crispy in all the right ways, and a punch of saltiness from the cheese) I asked for some taziki sauce for the chicken but dipped my fries on it as well. Honestly I didn’t even dip the chicken in it because it tasted so good on its own I didn’t have to. I also feasted upon the spinach rice and tabouleh and both were opposites on the flavor spectrum one with warm savory spices that melted with the tomatoes and rice and the other bursting with fresh herbs and spring vegetables with Frekkah which is a roasted green wheat that adds such a wonderful texture and pleasant yet slightly nutty flavor. The orzo “Mac and cheese” is no ordinary Mac and cheese side, this Greek version of a classic dish had such an amazing mouth feel with some garlic and herb notes that just elevated it to the next level. And I’m going to end where we started which was with the appetizers. I can never get past the spanakopita (which is heavy on the dill just like I like it) But today I added in the garden humus which had fresh limas and asparagus with an array of herbs with a drizzle of olive oil… and that is just the topping, underneath laid a silky smooth hummus that was not grainy or bitter . The fresh pita sent me over the moon… I was in greek heaven. The chicken pita was like having all the freshness of the salads and the spot on roasted chicken all in one…. So you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I have yet to try something I absolutely didn’t love . We were so stuffed that we had to get the desserts to go but my god … if you haven’t been here you are missing out on one of the best restaurants Birmingham has to offer. It’s a hidden gem in plain sight.”

“You can't get any cozier than Seeds! I studied in the outdoor sofa area many-a-times during my senior year of undergrad. Nothing like an excuse to lay down on a comfy couch in public with a coffee by your side. Seeds is a great place that I honestly want to start going to more often! My one gripe is that the parking can be a bit upsetting when it's more packed, especially when I drive all the way there just to have to turn around and go elsewhere. Very nice coffee, but I oddly prefer their hot drinks to their iced drinks (shocker!) Every time I order an iced drink here I feel like there's too much syrup and the consistency doesn't sit right with me. Never had an issue with a hot latte!”

We went during a pretty busy time during the day but the staff was able to get us a table quickly. “We were looking for an authentic Alabama lunch experience and found it with Ted’s. We arrived towards the end of the lunch service and found them friendly and welcoming upon entering the space. Free, ample parking, available seating and staff smiles helped us feel at home from the moment we entered. The vegetables were my favorite and immediately took me back to my great aunt’s cooking. They were out of the dessert but they offered to make half a pan for us and said they will have it ready the next day at their next location at Shelby Baptist. I went by to pick it up and not only did they have it ready but they brought it out to me at my car. They are such nice people and I’m very happy at the customer service they display. “The food here is so amazing! The New Orleans-based decorations and music blasting make it feel familiar inside the building. The staff was extremely nice and patient, answering our questions and making small talk. They're extremely sustainable by using reusable silverware and dishes. However, the tables are close to each other, which adds to the homey/familiar vibe, but it doesn't help with preventing COVID-19. Though, they do offer take-out as a counter! The area is really small with limited parking but the experience there left a big impression.”
