This was my first time to this restaurant. They have a great server working here this morning. The food tasted great and the sweet roll was as sweet as the server.

Servers and staff are great: Super friendly, fun and helpful!!!Breakfast menu has a great variety of options and the blueberry pancakes are YUM!! Also a very large serving- I took half back home. Double WIN!!!So glad my son and I had breakfast there!

Not impressed with the food, but the staff was worth a visit. Be prepared if you are not from the south--EVERYONE gets called "baby" or "honey" or some other southern term of endearment and they are very laid-back. One of your waitresses might be having lunch at the table next to you. You can tell they have a lot of regular customers. And they do care about making you happy. However, this place needs a SERIOUS cleaning. And the food was mediocre at best, yet over-priced. Meat and two from a cafeteria line was $16. Order the catfish but skip the turkey and dressing. Veggies were decent. I do think it's worth trying the breakfast, which seems to garner the best reviews.

I wanted for this meal to live up to the rave reviews that have been posted for several years. Massive, massive, disappointment. They weren't busy with only two other tables filled on a Saturday morning. We had to wait quite a while to place a simple drink order of water and coffee despite that they had 3 servers working. It was as if we were putting them out of their way to order breakfast as well. The bacon must have been cooked when they first opened, because it's was completely dried out at 10:30. It was just a very lackluster meal with no flavor and tons of grease on the plate. The famous sweet roll was dry and greasy at the same time with no flavor. My husband asked for cheese on his scrambled eggs. They never added it. My order came with a choice of two different types of meats, so I chose sausage patties and link sausage. After a few tries, they just couldn't get a simple breakfast order right on two plates. We left with more than half of the food on each plate. My husband pointed out that he didn't need to be charged extra for the cheese that never made it in his eggs, but the server just shrugged and never adjusted the ticket as he was paying. I believe that two stars is more than generous for this meal, and that's only because it's a much loved spot in Birmingham.

They are obviously catering to certain clients. Needless to say I did not go into to racist trump supporting establishment. Big Trump Pence 2020 on van that's an employee or has been there awhile

It was easy to find and had plenty of parking. The staff is sweet and country in nature. The crowd seemed more retired and middle-aged.I got the Yankee Omlette with grits and toast and it was better quality than Waffle House. Would go again for a quiet breakfast.

The food was good, but limited options. They only had chicken and meatloaf. I will stick with my usual meat and three as it has options better suited to my diabetic lifestyle.

Stopped in for breakfast one cold morning while visiting family in the area, and absolutely fell in love with Bogue's! Simple menu but excellent food... and wow, those amazing sweet rolls from Ella!!

Super friendly staff and a nice Alabama breakfast experience for out of towners! The grit, biscuits, gravy, sausages, hashbrowns, everything was delicious and super filling!
I love breakfast. I am usually on a diet, so it is a treat when I get it. This morning, my wife out of the blue says, let's get some Breakfast. I gave her my list of restaurants and she said, "Online, they say go to Bogue's". I did not argue, I just went with her. Allow me to break this review in parts: Let's start with the Food: Before I begin, everything had an off taste. I can't not describe it. Not bad, just off. Everything was like it had been cooked hours before with the exception of the eggs. Eggs: Cooked ok but slightly over cooked. Bacon: Off taste, had one bit and left the rest. Sauage Patties: Ok, about average. Toast: Made fresh however I ordered Whole Wheat and got white. Hashbrowns: Greasy and had an off taste. Pancakes: Tasteless. As pancakes go, below average. Coffee: Not very good at all. Grits: Average at best. Biscet: Cold and dry. The Place Itself: We found serval booths where the fabric was cracked really bad. Everything looks really old and worn. The Service: Our server did a very good job. The food was out quick, and she refilled my coffee. She never asked me how the food was but even if she had, I would not have complained. The cashier said, was everything delicious. I smiled because I just wanted to get out and pay. I gave a 20% tip and left. Look, I do not like leaving bad reviews. Especially at a Mom, and Pop place like this. A local place. Then again, the purpose of Yelp is to be as honest as can be. Tell the good, bad and ugly. Food is a very personal thing. Don't just take my review as being the be all end all. Read other reviews some of which are excellent. I hope I was helpful.

In the past this restaurant would go out of the way in comfort serving up cinnamon rolls, not anymore from sit down to ordering 25 minutes from ordering to food 35 minutes and it was cold eggs were luke warm to cold and cinnamon buns 2.00 each and small size of half dollar even cost is extremely too high based on everything avg two visits 18.00 ea person , so slow to no service had to run to lady to get refill skip this place oh and did I mention clean nope toilet still busted spraying water on floor from 3 weeks ago last visit, nasty yes and this is my last visit

A great breakfast with a at home feel . Them french toast are seasoned perfect. Excellent hospitality ..I loved our waitress she had a big sense of humor & was very pleasant..Thank you guys . We will be back ??

Food was bland no taste customer service was awful never came to our table but to take our order and bring our food. She completely ignored us when trying to get a straw and ketchup. She didn’t even come to give us our bill we had to go to the front and repeat our order to pay. The restaurant was dirty and flies and gnats flying around completely disgusting.
