Usually great service and food. Brought family members who come into town once every ten years. Food was good but the service was beyond awful. Made a reservations weeks ago but they couldn’t figure out where to seat us?? We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time (7). Ended up being seated outside because the manager said he had no idea when they could seat us. Couldn’t get water or tea refills. Had to ask for silverware three times!! I also have severe food allergies and the server rolled her eyes twice at me when I asked to have a salad without nuts, etc. We saw four other families that we are friends with tonight too….I hope that they had better luck than we did! Usually a family favorite but doubtful we will be back anytime soon after tonight!

Dinner date with my SOYmate! My wife & I had a fantastic date night at Chuck's Fish. This Chuck's Fish is located on 280, but there are 5 other locations across Alabama, Georgia & Florida. They specialize in fresh seafood & sushi. We started with the Kimchi Brussels served flash-fried with bacon & cilantro aioli. I'm such a fan girl for good Brussels & these were PHENOMENAL! Brussels sprouts have that earthy, almost nutty flavor which paired incredibly well with the tangy umami of the kimchi. They were perfectly crisp on the outside while nice & tender inside. The bacon also played a huge part in this dish. These were no bacon bits, rather generous strips of real bacon. It has been a few years since we last dined at Chuck's Fish. The last time we dined here, we tried dishes from their dinner menu as well as their sushi menu & decided sushi is definitely the move here for us. Last night, we ordered Salmon Nigiri, the Meatloaf Roll featuring yellowtail, green onion, spicy sauce & tempura topped with avocado & tuna tartare as well as the Red Dragon Roll featuring soft shell crab, smelt roe, green onion & spicy sauce topped with tuna & avocado. The Salmon Nigiri was super fresh & had the perfect rice to fish ratio. We both thoroughly enjoyed the Meatloaf Roll & the Red Dragon Roll, but the Red Dragon Roll had the slight edge, for me. The combination of sweet soft shell crab, the pop of the smelt roe, firmness of the tuna & creaminess of the avocado was delightful. I really dig the atmosphere at Chuck's Fish. It's upscale & modern, but not pretentious. Service was friendly. They have a nice selection of spirits, wine, beer & specialty cocktails. I was pleased with my Pomegranate Martini as was my wife with her Maple Pecan Old Fashioned. They also offer Happy Hour daily featuring 1/2 off select drinks at the bar from 5-6pm. Chuck's is fabulous. The best sushi in the 280/Greystone area, imo.

My recent visit to Chuck's in Birmingham was a very good experience. I was welcomed upon entering. My server was absolutely great. All good recommendations from our server were Excellent! The decor was very welcoming and relaxing. I had the fillet and it was cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. I plan on going back very soon.

Seafood is great! I always get the steak and crab cakes. The last 2 times I've had to send my steak back cause it was undercooked. It's good when cooked right after sending it back but I shouldn't have to send it back each time we go. Stick with the seafood and it's great.

We love chuck's and I'm not even a seafood person! Consistently good food. I am really sad they took away their complementary bread and butter at the beginning because that butter was my favorite part of the meal! Haha Veggies are always on point with any side. I rotate between the chicken and steak dishes. My husband loves the sushi or fish. Bread pudding is amazing!
The food was amazing! The staff was ok-ish. The host girls were super chatty behind the half wall that separated them from the dinning room. The ambiance was very lacking. But the food made up for it.

Date night at Chuck's fish with my sister and brother in law!! First I thought you had to dress up to go here.. me in a dress all proper next to the hostess table waiting to be greeted and out walks and lady with a ball cap on and jeans, then a dude in grey sweatpants. I wish I had just worn leggings and not worried about my attire clearly no one else here did lol. Feel of the place was great. I loved all the tvs over the sushi bar showing fish and images of places I'd much rather be than Birmingham. We had a very attentive waitress and a bonus waitress being trained. Im pretty sure our waitress could recite the entire menu without looking. She had recommendations and opinions when we asked for them, she was a true gem to the establishment. We didn't want for anything the second you took your last sip in your cup she magically appeared like a drink fairy. We started off with the Asiago bread (I'm allergic to shellfish so I didn't have many options) it was AMAZING.. like what in the world did I just eat can I have another order amazing. ((Yes we ordered two)) Calamari was on the table as well and everyone else seemed to love it. We ordered steak, fish and sushi as meals and everyone was pleased. Apparently the "cowboy" sushi roll is one not to miss as everyone else on the table loved it. We will certainly be back but I will be wearing leggings I didn't take any images this time as I was too busy shoving Asiago bread in my mouth I will definitely take some next time.

Chuck's Fish offers a prime seafood dining experience. Their menu includes seafood, sushi, and steak. I went with the red snapper fish of the day grilled to perfection with a delicious lemon sauce. The sushi was also of a high quality. The prices are definitely expensive.
