Just got 3 alacarte tacos with onion and cilantro for $24.00. No clear pricing and the quality is not worth that price. Need transparency and not to just over charge to run up bill. I doubt I’ll be back and be sure to ask server about pricing before ordering something that is not listed.

Our favorite Mexican place in Birmingham, even though it's more of a Tex-mex place. Be sure to ask for some roasted salsa, it's delicious! The wait staff is always nice and attentive, over the years they have become friends. They interact with my toddler and make sure he's always taken care of as well. My husband loves the Mexican omelet (don't knock it until you've tried it) and I always get the Don Pepe quesadilla. The cheese dip inside the quesadilla is magical. Highly recommend their margs but definitely check the prices in the menu before ordering, they have some expensive ones. The restaurant is always clean and service is quick. We would eat here multiple times a week if we lived closer!

Was seated immediately around 2pm. Food was ok. Shreaded chicken was dry on nachos. Salsa was really good. Margaritas tasted good but don't think there was any tequila in them. Servers friendly. Prices were reasonable. Would eat here again when in the area.

The taco was soggy. The salsa was very spicy. The service was slim to none. I will not go back to this restaurant. I could have went to a nice restaurant for what I paid for us to eat at this one. We had a party of three and none of us was happy with our food.

Friday Oct 13,2023 I went to dinner here with my husband, daughter and daughters friend. Our food was good, service was fast for a busy Friday night, and by all accounts we were happy. I pay the bill with my debit card, leave a cash tip on the table. I always make a habit of writing “cash” in the tip line when I leave cash, just so it’s noted. Well this location decided that wasn’t enough and debited an extra $10 on my card. I have called and emailed about this and no response so I am leaving this review to remind everyone to watch out as they like to steal from paying customers.
Fantastic meal, generous servings, and a chill atmosphere. Everything about the place was excellent, and our service was spot on.

Charged $3 for a salsa order that I mistakenly said green and asked waiter I meant brown salsa and to return the green one because I would not touch the green one. He charged for both salsas . Because "he had to walk it to the table" ? I asked him to remove the charge and he refused. No tip on a $96 bill. I will never set foot in Don Pepe again over a $3 charge. Bad Service!! Plus who charges for Salsa anyway?

I always look forward to eating at Don Pepe. It has become my go-to Mexican restaurant since I moved to Birmingham. Good margaritas, amazing food, friendly servers, and boats of queso. Couldn't ask for anything better
