Food was just ok... my taco salad was a bit bland to be honest. I was dismayed to see that there was an upcharge for sour cream and tomatoes on a taco salad... that's kinda what makes it a taco salad, right? Without those additions its only lettuce, cheese, and beef. There was plenty of beef on the salad, but little (if any) seasoning. Chips were ok. Salsa was good. I ordered Mexican Guacamole and a Lime Margarita (my go tos at Mexican restaurants). The Margarita tasted watered down. The Mexican guacamole was mainly pico de gallo and maybe half an avocado. My husband had a lunch special with a chile rellenos and a taco. He said they were good but not great. Service was good but there were only two other tables in the whole restaurant at 12:30. We will not be going back to San Marcos with all the Mexican restaurants...read full review
Great place to go, good/normal service, normal food, and beautiful inside decor/atmosphere. We live close to Clanton and been going since the late 90s early 2000s. Nothing really changes and I like it that way... Also the only place in the world left that allows smoking in the bar area. But don't worry none smokers there's an non-smoking restaurant side for you as well. I set on the non-smoking side with my dad because he has headaches, and it doesn't bother him.
