“Wow! We just went here for the first time in over 15 years! What a mistake having not returned any sooner!! The food was excellent. We started with a plate of 4 Egg Rolls. Served very warm with a tasty and zingy duck sauce. Our Server, Lydia then brought out our entrees. My bride ordered Won Ton Soup and for myself, Shrimp Pad Thai. Both were served warm and ready to eat. Spice level is based on your request. We ordered with No Spice. Our opinion they don't need the heat. We shared and agreed that both dishes were full of flavor and delicious as served. You also add Soy Sauce, Lime and Ground Peanuts (Pad Thai) to taste. Both dishes were full of flavor. My bride added that her Wonton Soup was the best she has ever had. I would have to agree and say similar about the Pad Thai. Our server, Lydia did an excellent job as they were training 2 new hires while performing their job. We watched as she moved throughout the dining area and kitchen areas. She was busy ! As for the ambiance it is like a Thai time capsule. A lot of intricate woodcarving, combined with darker tabletops and (some) worn but comfortable seating. We'll definitely come back and also order for takeout.“
“Running a restaurant at the Fort Container park must be like playing a video game with your lifesavings at stake on hard-mode. The Container park is like a reverse Field of Dreams despite having a ton of potential. Restaurants here seem to flail and fail through a combination of crappy south Alabama weather and inconsistent hours. How many times have we finished the old "I dunno what do YOU want for dinner?" ritual to finally land on a choice located at The Fort only to find they are closed? Very frustrating.In the back of the container park nearest the road, Boom's Thai Kitchen has been the rare exception. The owner is a dogged hard worker managing to keep consistent hours despite the challenges that come operating a restaurant in this location. The food is always delicious and they are always very-very friendly. The portions are large and everything on the menu that we've tried is fantastic on site; travels well in To-Go scenarios.Try the spicy coconut shrimp with your choice of protein or the curry with a mixture of spices and sweet pineapple. Try the hand-rolled Boom rolls and their homemade chili sauces. Try it all, these people are great.“
“Started with summer rolls, authentic and fresh with a flavor that pops! Then Tom Ka shrimp soup! It's cold out here so the spice and heat was a welcomed comfort that warmed the bones! Finished with the chefs special pork stick skewers served with sticky rice for that rib sticking satisfaction! Service was efficient and friendly. I'll be back!“
