After meeting friends for lunch in Gadsden, we decided to venture out to Local Joes before returning to Anniston. When we pulled in, the smoky aroma was so enticing we were tempted to eat again. We looked around and left with a half-pound of smoked turkey with both red and white sauce, a peach and apple fried pie and a jar of cherry preserves. The turkey is absolutely amazing! We couldn’t decide which sauce we like best so we mixed them. The peach pie was very good. We plan to have the apple one tomorrow and expect it to be equally as good. We will definitely return. If the weather is good, we may take our dog and eat at one of the outside picnic tables.

Local Joe's is such a cool place. They are located down south of Rainbow City on Highway 411, so you need to seek them out. The place reeks of times gone by, with the old yellow truck out front. They are a restaurant/market, offering a number of eclectic food and goods you won't find just anywhere. This place is SO dog friendly! While we were waiting to put in our order, someone brought a chunk of roasted chicken for our pup! She loved it! The food here is simply prepared and oh so good! This was one of the best dining experiences we have had in some time. Whether or not you are a dog lover, Local Joe's will leave a smile on your face and a fullness in your belly!

Came on a Sunday with my 2 boys and the bowling alley wasn't packed and we have been waiting 45 mins for a sandwich and quesadilla have one very slow guy working the front and the back. Taking cash money then going right to the back and start cooking using the same gloves he didn't change. Then a female walks back there to finally help and she is eating where the food is being made. I have never been so disgusted and inpatient ever.

Good BBQ. Lots of local items such as jams and honey. Friendly workers. We got to eat at a picnic table on the porch. We noticed several locals, including a sheriff's deputy, ate there.

We really enjoy the large pork sandwiches! Our daughter likes the pork stuffed baked potatoes but she prefers to leave the queso off, as do I. We most often eat in or pickup from Southside, but I want to try the one in Rainbow City!
