Hickory Tavern

Everything about this place is ‘pretty decent’. I had the New York style chicken and rice and while it wasn’t anything worthy of getting twice it wasn’t too bad. The service was fairly slow for being only about 3 people there for lunch time but it was probably low staffed for the quieter hours. My wife and I came her for the first time. The food was good and the atmosphere was what you would expect for a tavern type restaurant. What really stood out to us was the service. Emily was our server and she was awesome. She was incredibly friendly and always checking on us and making us feel important. Came her on Memorial Day and was seated very quickly. Ordered the cedar salmon with yellow rice. Salmon was very tasty but the rice fell short and had no flavor. The greens served also were very tasty. Overall a good experience.
