“Nice, quiet, peaceful dining area. We got the Cream Cheese Harumaki, the Combination Egg Foo Young, and the Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken was our favorite. We got a side of hot chili oil that we added to it, it was great. Bold citrus flavor with orange peel zest, sweet, bitter, and spicy. Very nice.Want to try the Twice Cooked Pork next time!“
“You may have to wait on a few items to be remade but the crew communicate well and are respectful. Particularly, the light skinned black lady( I can’t remember her name). She was really nice to me as I waited for my food. Also, the place inside is clean and well taken care of. My food was also hot, fresh, and tasty.Parking: There’s always about 20 spots to park.“
“Service was excellent, and so was the food. Everything we ate was delicious. Not one complaint. We went on a Friday night around 6:45 and our party of 4 sat right down. Our server gave recommendations that were spot on. We had crab Rangoon, dumplings, egg rolls, hunan delight, orange chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice. All exceptional. Portions are very large.Updating to say we had lunch here. Lunch menu is affordable. Service was great and food was excellent again!“
“Flames & flavors! My wife & I had lunch at Stix in Hoover yesterday. Stix is a hibachi restaurant that also specializes in sushi & Asian classics. I've had some great experiences here, but I haven't dined here in YEARS. I was excited to see if it was all I remembered it being. We started with the Steamed Dumplings featuring chicken & vegetable dumplings served with a chili soy dipping sauce. The dumplings & sauce had good flavor, but they were cold. Not like "frozen in the middle cold", but "they didn't get brought to the table right away cold." Not a huge deal. My wife & I both ordered hibachi dishes. She had the Hibachi Shrimp & I had the NY Strip Steak. Both were served with Japanese onion soup, ginger salad, fried rice & veggies. My wife's shrimp were of good size & we were both impressed by how perfectly they were cooked. My NY strip steak was also cooked to my liking. A superb medium rare. The Japanese onion soup that Stix serves is by far my favorite of hibachi soups. The broth is rich in onion flavor. The fried rice was particularly delicious! It had a nice smoky flavor which I'm guessing comes with being prepared on a well-seasoned hibachi grill. When you walk in Stix, you can dine on the right side which is where the "cook in front of you" hibachi tables are. To the left is what I've always heard called "the Chinese side" (My wife couldn't believe it's called that. What do you call that side?) where there are private booths, but you're still able to order from the hibachi menu. I prefer to sit on the Chinese side. It's quiet & I find that dining at the hibachi table can feel rushed. I mean, it's cute, but once you've seen an onion volcano a few times, the magic is gone. My entree was delicious! As good as I remembered. Service was friendly. They offer a full bar. I'm a fan of Stix. Probably my fav hibachi in Bham.“
“The bourbon chicken is really good. I haven't had it for a few years and it's still just as good as always. I would come to the galleria just for the bourbon chicken here. The staff is always friendly and they give you large portions. My favorite sides are the Cajun potatoes and lo mein.“
“My go-to restaurant at the Galleria. I’ve never had a problem with the food, and sometimes I go to the mall just for their food. I’ve seen many negative reviews lately, but I’ve personally never had a bad experience the past few years I’ve been buying food from this vendor. I highly recommend them!“
“Had such a great time here tonight. The owner was friendly and the food was amazing. I ordered the orange chicken and Mongolian beef. The orange chicken wasn't overly sweet and had a hint of ginger? and it had perfect breading, not to thick. The Mongolian beef was spicy!!! Tasted like a totally different dish with purple onions and not sweet. And they didn't skip on the beef. Definitely coming back for the sesame chicken and buffet to try all of the different "new to the area" dishes. The pepper chicken wings were good too. ??“
“We never dine in, always pick up only but it's a nice, calm atmosphere inside the restaurant. My daughter loves the shrimp lo mein here. All of the chicken entrees we have tried are delicious. The egg rolls are a fave of mine. The food is always fresh and hot when you pick it up.“
“The service was so speedy! The kind man who welcomed us was nice and accommodating. We ordered, sat down, and had our food and drinks within 10 minutes. I ordered the chicken hibachi with clear soup and the salad. It was fantastic to have only been $14.“
“Another great find in Hoover! The takeout was as savory and authentic as advertised. I'm looking forward to trying other items on the menu and hope to visit soon.Vegetarian options: Choose to your delight.Parking: You have free parking and lots of spaces to choose from.“
