“I did indeed go back and tried the ribs this time. Killer good!! They are somewhat reminiscent of the ribs at the world famous Rendezvous in Memphis with a dry rub style, but better! They don't even need sauce, although their sauce is very good too. Solid potato salad also. No, I'm not related to Mr Mitchell and he's not asking me to give good reviews - I'm just happy to tell the world when I find outstanding food. My only regret is that I don't live here and can't eat it more often.“
“I sure love their Barbecue! And, the potato salad is special. The BBQ beans taste like they came out of the can and could be better if cooked longer, but they are OK. They are conveniently located for people that live on the north side of Florence. Otherwise, I love the place even though the food is not cheap.“
“2nd time trying Brooks BBQ,I had a pulled pork Sandwich, mild sauce only(no slaw), it was great. The flavor was a combination of the smoked pork pieces and sweet sauce. The meat was a mix of soft pulled and outside heavy smoked/blackened chunks.I also had a jumbo hot dog plain(no ketchup & slaw). It had a very nice smokey taste and the steamy bun finished off perfectly. I will be making more stops at Brooks BBQ.“
“This is the ABSOLUTE BEST! I have been eating the BBQ and Hot dogs from here since the day they opened in 1971. And even though I don't live here anymore, this is the FIRST stop I make every time I come to town every 2 or 3 months. I have several friends that also eat there now as well because I have shared the food with them. As long as this place is open for business I will be coming to the shoals every 2 or 3 months to get my hot dog and BBQ fix. AWSOME, AMAZING...THANK YOU!“
“We had a lovely lunch. The service was great, and the food was as good as it always has been. I grew up with LawLers in Athens, and it's so much fun seeing the expansion and seeing that each location is maintaining the traditional quality standards.Parking: Plenty of parking spots conveniently angled for the flow of traffic.“
“We had lunch portions of the grilled steak salad and grilled chicken/strawberry salad plus sides. Husbands salad was great, meat cooked to his liking. My chicken was cooked but there wasn't much meat and lots of grisel. Rest of the salad was great and sides were good too. Although they didn't have any baked potatoes for lunch. Our server was great. I just know to order the steak salad, more meat and tasted great.“

Service was quick, drinks mixed excellently, a superior experience to its competitors, will definitely be returning here time and time again. “You can actually pick between two restaurants that share the building for your food choices. The food is very good. They have a large area that is set up as a typical sports bar. Tv's, corn hole, shuffle board, and a golf net are a few things available to do.“

“I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, BUT the 'side items' on the menu are not even close to being on the same level as the meat options. The meats are really good, but the sides like baked beans and potato salad is like an afterthought of just quick convenience. Hardly any seasoned taste to sides. They have a "partial" winner, but they apparently dont want to knock it outta the park.“
“South's Best BBQ is really a great place. It is one of the few in the area that serves chopped BBQ instead of pulled pork. Unfortunately, they cook pork butt, not the whole hog I love from my native North Carolina.I take my mother-in-law to the beauty shop every Tuesday. It is routine that we go to South's Beat and get her a BBQ sandwich every week. Even at 92 years old, she knows good BBQ.“
“I like the grilled hot wings. (with the ghost pepper sauce) They make watching college ? better. The bbq is juicy and flavorful and they have good sauces. (Again, get the hot!) My kids like the chicken tenders and they really like the mac n cheese. I live very close to this location so it's too easy. With the Smokin Jalapeño in the same building...We go there a lot.“
“It's all about the tater, lol. The loaded baked potato is the thing you get here. Folks are super friendly too. I am so stubborn on BBQ that I don't feel right about reviewing the BBQ at a BBQ joint unless it's a place a grew up going to as a child ( I'm getting older than dirt so not to many places like that around anymore, lol). Being said, most people do really enjoy the BBQ ribs and white sauce chicken here, I like the the loaded potato in particular, myself. I also like the staff. From what I have seen they get it right or make it right. I appreciate that attention to service.“
“Their loaded potatoes are a two meal eating because they are monsters and oodles of generous toppings. Chicken or pork or beef to choose from. I have tried all three and find the pork is my number one and I do choose the others for a variety.“
