“Love this place. The food is delicious and the people that work there are super nice. I live in Oakman and my sister lives in Florida and when she comes to visit she just has to eat at Mikes. And before she leaves out heading back to Florida she has to stop and get a BBQ sandwich and a large sweet tea for the road. If you haven’t ate here then your missing out on some delicious food!!”

“Late lunch yesterday. I ordered the ribeye sandwich with fries. Honestly one of the best ribeye sandwiches I have ever eaten. Fries were good but nothing to complain or brag about. Service was good and staff was friendly. The restaurant is set ina refurbished older building but is really nice but simple. Only issue is the daily special board is hard to read from table because the writing is small. Had to get up and stand in front of board to read it. Overall excellent experience and I will go again and recommend to others.”

“Went for lunch. Parking was very difficult due to the city having the street blocked off right in front of the restaurant. I had my elderly/feeble parents and was not able to drop them off at the door so that made it very difficult to get to. As for the restaurant. It has a cool vibe and absolutely delicious food! We will definitely return! I had Monterrey Chicken and it was so tender and tasty. My parents got the chicken salad dandwich and potato soup and said it was great. My husband got a cheeseburger and fries and said it was great as well. Waiting time for food was a bit lengthy but we knew why when we received our food! ????”

“All around great experience and the best Mexican food we have had in the Jasper area. Parking can be somewhat of a challenge but worth a couple of trips around the block until a close space opens up.Vegetarian options: Bean burritos ? and salads ? are great so something for everyone.Parking: Parking can be a challenge depending on the time of your visit but I say we'll worth it, great food.”

“For a small town coffee shop that’s so small there isn’t even a Starbucks I was very impressed. I had a cold brew with banana flavor and a blueberry muffin. Delicious. I can’t give this place 5 stars tho because what I think I was the owner or manager (middle aged blonde lady) was not very welcoming or friendly, very rude actually.”

“December 14, 2023Service was great. My husband enjoyed his hamburger steak with mash potatoes. My hamburger had quality meat but could have used a little more seasonings. Plenty of seating. Canned drinks not fountain drinks.I forgot my food that was already boxed up. I called and they had moved it to the front just in case I came back! Love that!”

“Black Rock Bistro catered my nieces wedding and the food was really good but the hamburger steak was undercooked , mashed potatoes and green beans were really good .”

“This place is great. Especially for the price. We were working on a project in town for 6 weeks and had our favorite server Eva every time (is it Eva or Ava? Sorry Eva!). The fish quality is great especially for a landlocked small town. And the people are also great. We tried Rock n Roll but it’s not even half as good and the staff there might as well have been on their day off, wasn’t even clean or tables bussed. Will be back whenever we are in Jasper. Yummy Bowl #3 is a Poke Bowl and a very good value. Good luck in school Eva! You are surely going to succeed at whatever you want to do. Best server in town!”

“Quaint and cozy country home kitchen cooking hidden gem right here. Don't just drive on by, give 'em a try. Southern fare priced very reasonably served up by friendly, real people staff (Well, was a 1-man operation when I was there...wish the corn I came for wasn't out of season, but that loaded Polish sausage did live up to my expectations!) Roomy interior, seasonal outside seating, clean bathroom, and ample parking out front. Not sure whom Buck & Buddy are, but props to you.”

“Service was great ....New cook was just that, but given the benefit of doubt I'm sure with practice they'll get the hang of it. Update 8/21/23 went to work at this place bc I had no choice the waitresses work hard and cooks but hey have an 84 fr public health and while mopping I saw roaches on the lobby/dine in area floor that's a fault of management on not keeping things in order. Having owned my own restaurant I know this for facts. My employees can't call pest control and I had to be the person to make them clean and take steps so these things didn't occur. Just like at your own place of residence if you do not keep areas clean you will Have an infestation you can't get rid of unless everyone is involved.”

“Stopped and had lunch today . The restaurant was very clean upon entering. Greeted with a smile by a waiter in training . They have an all you can eat buffet which me and my mother enjoyed . The food was hot and fresh . Everything was steaming and it was lunch time . The waitress was very prompt about seeing about us every 6 minutes. Which we didn't mind. The price was very affordable for two $26.12 . We will be back to visit .”
