I feel like my three stars is generous. Unfortunately this place used to be good. Went in tonight and only two people were working. One person preparing (warming up) the food and the other one taking orders. Fish had good flavor but was barely warm. The sides were all cold and didn't appear fresh. The side of onion that was given in all three orders of fish appeared to be several days old. I wanted so badly for this to be good but unfortunately it was mediocre at best.

Loved the fried catfish, macaroni, fries, baked beans and hushpuppies. However the coleslaw could use some work. It's a bit tart and not sweet at all like most coleslaws usually taste but everything else tasted great. Even the lemonade and sweet tea tasted incredible, better than most restaurants

Ordered my food online. It charged my card. Go to pick up my food they cancel my order. The guy that came to the window said it was because the grill was already cleaned for the night. Mind you it’s 7 and the close at 8 .I tell him well it has already changed me. He get his manager she say it’s because of the way I order my food was the why they cancelled it. It saves me a few dollar. It sad how they did that cause I was gone save $2.then I get my food the jambalaya was nasty and over cook. Like it had be reheat a few time.I asked for hot sauce and tartar sauce for the 4 pieces of fish I got. They gave me 1 pack of hot sauce and a half of little cup of tarter sauce.

We really enjoyed our catfish. It also came with onions, pickles, hushpuppies and tarter sauce which was a plus. The sides we had were good. The mac n cheese was my favorite. The baked beans were nice and sweet, okra was nice and crispy, the jambalaya was seasoned well and the fries were good. The only side I ddidnt think was the best was the onion rings. They were very greasy. The staff was very friendly. They even offered to get us silverware when we were supposed to pick it up ourselves. They had desserts too that looked yummy. We will be back.

I like it quite a lot. It's usually very fast. They serve a very classic fried fish menu, complete with any side you're thinking of. I probably wouldn't recommend going here if you have a heart condition. I think 95% of their menu is fried, and I love it. Their fries have a specific, very good flavor and texture that I really enjoy. They've sadly suffered from Covid - it seems like the price of fish has gone up quite a bit. Otherwise it's a pretty good, fast fish place.

Very skeptical when it comes to fried seafood. I must say this place beat my expectations. Fresh , hot , yummy & crispy fried seafood!! Yummy Mac & cheese , yummy mash potatoes.. yummy shrimp & fried catfish! Just a yummy little joint.

Came on Friday 9-4-21 about 7:30pm. Ordered two fish dinners with all Mac & cheese sides. They were out so I opted for mashed potatoes. They were out so I did not order. Came back on Friday 9-11-21 at about 7:30pm. Made the same order b/c I needed Mac & cheese for triplet 3 year-old boys. They only had enough for three orders so I took three Mac & cheese and one order of fries ( enough for each boy to have one Mac & cheese each). Got home to feed them. One dinner had a side of Mac & cheese and a side of fries. The other had fish. No sides, no hush puppies, nothing but fish. I will never come to this restaurant again.

I came to Jonesboro for a conference and Murdock's was recommended by a coworker who had been a few years ago. The fish was overcooked - the crust was too dark and tasted as if it was cooked in older oil. The jambalaya was very dry and there was not much flavor, in fact it tasted old as well. The hush puppies were decent and the butterfly shrimp was just ok. The beans tasted like the one you get at the Walmart deli. I was highly disappointed and it ruined my night after a long drive.

They have 2 types of fish, imported and american catfish. The " American Catfish" is about $5 more. I ordered the American as imported catfish I have encountered other places is just nasty in my opinion, different flavor and texture. Upon receiving my plate it had the taste and texture of what I would consider imported. After suffering through the food I over hear the counter lady telling another customer that there is really no difference in the 2 that she can tell( bless her heart for having messed up sight and taste buds). Bottom line don't waste your time or $40(for 2 people) at this glorified fast food establishment!

I have gotten fish here before that was delicious. The fish I got lastnight was horrible. One piece wasn't done. It makes me wonder if there's new management. The shrimp wasn't good either. For the prices it definitely wasn't worth it. If I lived in Jonesboro I would've taken it bsck and got my $17!

It was good & fresh. My fish wasn't cooked long enough though. Next time I'll ask for it to be cooked longer.

Worst catfish I've ever had! Basically inedible and I threw it away. Got dinner for three with sides and the catfish was cold, dry and tough. Okra was cold as were the fries. Took the food as a take out and drove away. Otherwise I would have sent it back and demanded a refund. $48 wasted. I'll never go back!! Their store in Paragould closed; time for the Jonesboro store to close too.

We live in Florida and were visiting one of our kids in Jonesboro, AR. We wanted fish for dinner and found Murdocks. We each had a two piece fish dinner and pickled tomatoes. Our food was excellent. It was all cooked excellent. The staff was professional and helpful. If you're looking for a good place to eat go to Murdocks. You won't regret it.
