I would definitely recommend Roots. The unique dishes are refreshing for a town like Jonesboro, and if you don’t want to try something new, they have a large burger menu. The drinks are delicious and well made, with adorable glassware.

The food quality is not as good since the original owners/chefs left. The atmosphere is still lovely and our waitress was excellent, but the food was not good. The pork schnitzel had zero flavor, the grits were soured, the gravy was over salted, and the apple onion jam was boring.

I hesitated to write this review because I've heard good things about this restaurant, but I don't know if they were having a bad night or wanted to discourage certain people from eating there. To make a long story short, I had the crab cakes and kale salad. They were very overcooked and ridiculously small which meant I could only enjoy a tiny center of the crab cake. I added the shrimp on the side as the crab needed the extra flavor. Unfortunately the 4 small shrimp swimming in oily sauce was not enough. I would have heavily used a salt and pepper shaker had there been one on the table. The meal included a kale salad. It was lightly dressed with a (too)sweet vinegarette. My husband had the salmon, which wasn't too bad, but suffered through a heaping mound of flavorless risotto for his side dish. Again, I hesitate to speak poorly about any restaurant, but I want to warn you before you drop a Franklin and a Grant ($150) and leave hungry.

Food has been really good in the past, and maybe it was a fluke this time, but every dish that we had was overcooked. The chicken and rice was dry and bland and the two steaks (medium rare) were well done and crispy. Like i said, it could have been a fluke, but for the expectations previously set by this restaurant this visit was a disappointment.

Great restaurant, however it took a lil too long while not being that busy to receive our order. We waited bout 45 minutes for 2 burgers w fries. I could see if they were just really busy but was not. Staff was very friendly, basically one person was running the dining area and must had one cook for the long wait time on food.

We love Roots. It is our go to special occasion restaurant. They have excellent food and dishes you won't find anywhere else. So much attention is always put into the food and experience.

It's a little loud sometimes especially when fully packed, but it still feels cozy and at home. Jordan made me a gin fizz, so I'm leaving a five star review.

We went last night for dinner and it was amazing. The staff was friendly and professional. The food was incredible. I’m not sure what kind of magic fairy dust they put in their food, but coming from someone who usually hates grits, they were great. Could not be happier with our experience.

My wife and I eat here a lot. Its amazing every time. Thanks for bringing such a cool restaurant to Jonesboro!

It took a while for drinks and refills. The table we were sat at was rocking back and forth so I had to keep my foot on one leg to keep from it happening. On the the bright side the food was very good.

Seriously the best restaurant in Jonesboro. I’ve been dozens of times the past couple of years and have never had a bad meal.

Located in the downtown district of Jonesboro, AR, this establishment is very small with an elegant cozy atmosphere. At Christmas time you see the Christmas lights of all the stores and apartment balconies from you table inside. The server was absolutely perfect. She was knowledgeable about the menu and the dishes. She was super friendly as well. This place will take a while to get it out to you bc it's all made to order fresh. Fresh ingredients as well as local Arkansas rice. The menu was both small but very diverse in the options. The wine list was well put together with a good selection of wines varying from fair priced to more pricier, but well worth the cost, vintage wines. They were out of amaretto which should get them knocked to 4 stars but my milk aged ribeye was so freaking awesome I'll let it slide! Wasn't a fan of the corn dessert they have. That's what I get for being an over achiever I suppose.Overall I'm very happy I have found this restaurant. I had gotten bored with the food here, but restaurants like roots have a seasonal menu that means you're not getting the same stuff week after week month after month. Also to note, I want to point out again the food was outstanding and the chef is a genius.Cost is going to be pricier than your normal steakhouse. On a weekend a reservation is a must. During the week you should be ok to walk in. This is a hidden gem of Jonesboro that's for sure.Kid-friendliness: Not really though I'm sure they're ok with it.
