“The food here is what you'd expect at a Subway. If you expect Subway to have great food, then you're not being realistic. The staff here are super friendly and engage with their customers in a way that makes you leave happy. It's a very small location, though. The management team seems to also be very friendly and make it an easy place to stop in and get a sandwich.”

“Grabbed dinner here while in town visiting family. The Philly cheesesteak and fries were pretty good. My husband liked the cheeseburger he ordered with onion rings and BBQ sauce on it - it was huge! Prices are very reasonable. Pretty location on a golf course that overlooks a pond. I plan to return.”

“Wonderful friendly staff. The coffee is for people who like coffee. It isn't over-sweetened novelty drinks. They have cold brews, hot coffee, and some specialty coffee drinks. The staff makes the place really special. They are conversational while they're preparing your order. They also have parties - both sweet and savory. And they have a good selection of sandwiches.Walk around and check out the art on the walls from local artisans. Most of it is for sale as well.”

“Clearly a local hangout, lots of friendly people. The food was fantastic and we will be back. The loaded nachos were enough for a meal by themselves. My wife had the cold citrus salad with chicken, and the smoked chicken was a wonderful compliment to the sweetness of the fruit. The chicken bacon ranch sandwich was perfect for me!”

“Exceptional service, delicious food and a beautiful view of the lake. All the meals came well prepared and hot. All this and the place was packed. The meals shown are hamburger steak with grilled mushrooms and onions, with baked potato casserole that was outstanding. The great waitress gets a AAA+”

“Mels Southern Diner is a cozy and friendly mom and pop place that serves classic American fare. I ordered the double jalapeno jack burger with tots and a drink, which cost me $16.69. The burger was juicy and tender, with a generous amount of cheese and jalapenos. The tots were crispy and hot, and the drink was refreshing. However, I felt that the food was lacking in flavor and seasoning. The burger could have used some more sauce, spices, or herbs to make it more exciting. The tots were bland and needed some salt or ketchup. The drink was just a regular soda, nothing special. Overall, the food was okay, but not memorable. I would recommend Mels Diner for a quick and casual meal, but not for a gourmet experience.”

“I’ve been coming here for years now and the restaurant has never disappointed me they have always had great service great food and it’s very clean plenty of parking for large vehicles and passenger cars next door is the truck stop with a gasoline station ”
