“As someone who has lived in AZ my whole life, I love Mexican. I literally had tacos at my wedding. This place was really delicious. The ambiance is fine, a bit nicer than every other basic Mexican restaurant in town. That being said, the best places usually do have a ridiculously old, "whole in the wall vibe" and they do meet that criteria. I'd definitely have a beer with some friends here before seeing a movie.Service was perfectly fine - nobody was bending over backwards for us but it was prompt and plenty friendly. I often get take out here too so it's mostly a nonissue. Their takeout service is excellent though, the food is always warm all the way home and not a mess in the bags. It's also ready right on time.Lastly, the whole reason to go, the food just flat out rocks. It's no 5 star establishment but it is excellent. I always get a bowl and everything tastes fresh every time. They don't skimp either, like Chipotle always does. They load it up with what you ask for and then some. They also have a ton of options and many things are homemade (the salsa is killer here, the best in Gilbert honestly). You'd be hard pressed to find a disappointing menu item honestly, my wife has tried something different every time and still loves it.Overall, this is the perfect spot to grab a bite with some friends before other nightly plans or if you just want some solid Mexican takeout. “A part of Chicago has arrived to Gilbert. Portillo's is a great place to have Chicago style Hot Dogs and Italian Beef sandwiches. Fries are terrific as well. Menu offerings are broad but not overwhelming. Can't help notice though, like other restaurants, portions are smaller than my past experience with Portillo's in Chicago.Recommendation: If you order the Italian Beef sandwich, order it "Wet" with sweet peppers. Why anyone would eat a dry Italian Beef sandwich is beyond me.Strawberry shortcake is awesome and the chocolate cake appears to have the ability to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth.“

He manages to address each customer as they approach the counter and quickly has the orders out... without mistakes! The rest of the staff also provides quality customer service. “Family and I eat there this am. The food was good and proportions were great. Comfortable seating. Friendly customer service. Prices were a bit on the high side. The only down side were hash browns were a bit under cooked for me. The menu included a wide variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Would eat there again.“

“Wow, the service was amazing! I'm chasing down my 3 year old son while my husband is ordering & all of the employees asked if I was doing okay & if I needed anything. Food is of course amazing! Last minute I had asked if I could switch the flavor for the milkshake & they graciously offered to make another one. “I ordered online and used the drive thru for pickup, it was so easy! The employee handed me my order right away, so fast. I love that there's a separate drive thru for mobile orders! Makes the whole experience so smooth. I did the build your own salad which was Incredible!! All the ingredients were very fresh. The frozen strawberry lemonade is fantastic too.“
“The chicken fingers are good and their proprietary sauce goes well with them. I only used the drive through. There was someone with a tablet taking orders and collecting payment. Not sure that improved anything and it doesn't seem workable when it gets hot. Otherwise it's a typical fast food restaurant and I appreciate the convenience and the fact they serve something different.“

I learned something new when I went to In-N-Out the day we went: on rainy days, kids get free hot chocolate with marshmallows !!! That was such an added treat.
