“What a difference a few years can make!! Music was no longer a main feature!! Food was visibly fresh and well managed, staff was quick, accurate and ready with paper menus. Sashimi platter features were well cut, fresh. Calamari app is crisped just right, not overcooked or under cooked. Sushi rolls I had N Lights and Señor Larry, rice was perfect!! Not overly soft or under done.Great time!! Would actually take friends or family!!!Non alcoholic mix drinks are available on request.“
“Sushi Friend has the freshest fish, no tough, sinewy bits. And creative tasty combinations. Their miso is spot on, I always get 3 just for myself. Kevin has been our go-to sushi chef since we met 18 years ago. We have him cater our special meals. Congratulations Sushi Friend, we'll deserved.“
“Food is phenomenal. It is hard to find great seafood in Phoenix. My wife suggested this place, because she knows how much I like Manhattan Style Clam Chowder. I enjoyed their take on it. The tomato base was a little thicker than most of the Service was kind and attentive. A great place for my wife and I to get away for a dinner date. They sat us away from the bar and T.V. area which made it easy to talk and enjoy each other's company.“
“Have been meaning to visit since I heard about it! So glad I did. A wonderful welcome is given to all guests, the miso soup comes out immediately and the rolls are delicious! The ponzu sauce was brought out (a treat) and I loved it! Great vegan options, atmosphere and service. A MUST visit for Phoenix locals and visitors.Vegetarian options: Lots of yummy choicesDietary restrictions: As a vegan I had many options and the staff was very helpful in making menu selections.Parking: Strip mall has plenty if parkingKid-friendliness: Relaxed and spill proofWheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out“
“We love coming to Sushi Michi! We've come here 4 times now and have been super happy with our food, drinks, and service. Even when you can tell they are short-staffed, they somehow still do a great job with service. Cute little spot - can't wait for the outside patio to open!“
“Really great and fresh sushi, crab Rangoons and hand rolls. We came and it was happy hour and we got some rolls off of there. They also had some drinks that I wasn't in the mood for but would try again when I come back. The girl who was out waiter was also very friendly and attentive.“
“It really surprised me, great atmosphere nice people, great service and the food... GREAT!!!We had the "Seared Scallops" , Bad & Buri, Ryujin , Mushrooms Miso Soup and a couple of drinks.Next time in Phoenix I am coming back for sure.“
“Lovely experience every time I come! Servers are respectful and welcoming. Wendy was our server and she gave great customer service. Food is delicious, I ordered the hungry man roll and it was memorable. My favorite starters are the Brussels sprouts & asparagus. Alcoholic beverages were yummy!“
“First visit here at this lively Uptown Plaza location. Service was good even tho it was a very busy Saturday evening. We ordered many different rolls and specialty items. The Dragon roll, Sunset Roll, Tuna and Avocado Roll, Nigiri included Salmon, Tuna, and Yellowtail which was all very fresh and delicious. The music seemed to get louder every 20 mins or so but the front patio was open and seemed quieter if that is your preference. The interior was very modern with some artwork and high top tables and some booths. The bar area separated the front patio from the main dining area. We will go again.Parking: Plenty of parking around Uptown Plaza lot.“
“Phenomenal food. Service leaves a little to be desired but is understandable as this seems to be a small family run joint. Purple rice may be a gimmick, but doesn’t affect taste at all. Sushi burritos have become a must have for my fiancé and I on a weekly basis. Service can take longer than expected due to the large amount of takeout orders, but the food is worth the wait. Absolutely love this place!“
“We've been coming to Shinko just about once a week for a while now and I can't believe I never though to leave a review. I absolutely love their ramen! I bounce back and forth between the pork and the chicken (extra spicey on mine) and both are fantastic. The gyoza and jalapeño poppers are also amazing. The real gem though, is the staff. They're some of the friendliest people I've ever met and I look forward to saying hello to them every time I come. I can't say enough how much I enjoy and appreciate they're service. 100% recommended to anybody who wants great food made by great people!“
“Been coming here for 8 years and never had a bad experience. The food is delicious and the place has a really nice vibe. The manager has been there as long as I can remember and he's always actively working the floor and is extremely polite. You can tell he genuinely enjoys his job and cares about the experience you have when you are there. I've been to a ton of sushi places in Phoenix, and there are several that I really like, but Sushiholic is my favorite.“
“Best sushi experience I’ve had in Phoenix. The atmosphere is exceptional, and our waiter made me a non-alcoholic cocktail that was stunning. Truly though, the star was the food. You can tell the staff here care immensely about the food and the service. We loved the coffee salmon nigiri, and the lime butter salmon was exceptional too. A perfect date night spot.“
“This sushi is delicious. The prices are very very fair, especially their amazing deals on lunch specials for sushi and bentos.Don’t let the outside fool you, the area is a little rough and it’s hidden, but the service is genuine and fast, and I feel I am getting more than what I paid for.“
“I love spicy food. Usually, when I order something spicy, I get a warning that it might be too spicy, and usually, the spice is oversold. When I ordered the extra spicy Korean fried chicken, I received the usual warning, which I now dismiss. But when I took that first bite, I realized that for the first time, the warning was warrented. My face was boiling from how spicy it was, but I couldn't stop eating because it was so delicious. I will definitely be back to order it again now that I know what to expect.“
“Excellent daily deals, and "reverse happy hour" from 6pm–Close ($5 draft, half-price rolls, etc.). Food and drink selection is excellent. Friendly staff and charming atmosphere. Excellent for a date night, or family dinner, and even has a separate bar area for watching sports. A hidden gem.Parking: In a plaza: large, free, shared parking area.“
“We absolutely loved this restaurant for a birthday dinner! The food was delicious, unique, and came in perfect portions to try a variety. This sort of dining experience is most fulfilling when you take your time and try a lot of different dishes, it was a perfect treat for a wonderful night out!“
“This is one of the best sushi restaurants anywhere in the valley. There’s really only a handful of very good ones spread out across the metropolitan area. We are lucky to have this one right here in Ahwatukee. I’ll mention a couple of things. They have real flying fish roe that they use in Tobiko. Most places use some other kind of fish and it isn’t anywhere nearly as good. Also we’ve all heard that there is such a thing as real wasabi but it only seems to be available in Japan and even most Japanese have never had it because it’s most expensive. But you can get it here if you want to try it. It is expensive but it’s a good experience that you can find here. The sushi chef here, the owner, would love to serve nothing but traditional sushi. But so many people have become attached in the United States to various kinds of rolls that he’s found he has to offer those. But if you want to experience some amazing sushi that almost all other places don’t offer talk to the sushi chef. I have to admit to liking a rainbow roll. But always get Tobiko and some sashimi as well as a few other items that vary.“
“Absolutely LOVE this place. Ate sushi for the very first time and now I’m addicted. The fish is very fresh and reasonably priced (in my opinion). The service is great and the presentation of all the dishes is beautiful. Highly highly recommend!“
“This spot is a little closer to us than the usual conveyor belt sushi joint we normally go to so we decided to give them a try. The restaurant itself was very clean & looks nice, there is plenty of seating and their belt seems to go by at a pretty decent pace, so you won't have to sit around waiting forever for the dishes to go by. Aside from what is on the belt they have a menu with a wide range of different items that can be made to order. We went during a pretty slow time of the day. There were only three other tables when we arrived that had guests at them. Even so all of the dishes we grabbed off of the belt were the appropriate temperatures they should be at. I do wish that they offered a few other tempura-based rolls like a tempura California roll. Pricing wise the prices are pretty good especially if you are on a budget, though if you are trying to stick to a smaller budget, I would order water instead of a soda especially if you do not normally get refills. The only negative thing about our experience was the staff weren't around much. We had noticed that no gyoza had been added to the belt, so we had wanted to order some along with a few menu only items so I tried flagging down our waitress several times, but she didn't notice. At the same time there was a couple standing at the register for 8+ minutes waiting for someone to come over so they could pay their bill. Our original waitress didn't end up coming back to our table so when another girl had come over to the table, we just opted to get the check instead of ordering what we had planned on getting.Otherwise, as I said, the food was good & the prices were reasonable. It is a clean spot to stop when you are looking for a quick sushi fix.“
“Food was ama ing so was the atmosphere a cute vibe and great music, nice place to go with a group of girls/guys or your love one. The chicken and waffles were amazing with the ginger butter and the sweet potato fries sooo yummy. Plus when you walk inside to got to the restroom they have a pretty wall background“
“Food is good, but boy have priced gone up. Tried new things this time around and although good, it wasn't great for the price and will go back to ordering my normal fare. Service is always good which is a plus. Small place but always busy.“
“The food is suitable for Asian tastes and the portions are plenty! There is so much food that you can’t finish it and take it away. The landlady is very kind and can speak Chinese and has a Chinese menu.Recommended for people who come to Az to eat here“
“Delightful selection and service. Creative and interesting combinations of ingredients. The California Dreaming roll was exceptional. Nice folks in all aspects. This is a solid neighborhood joint.Kid-friendliness: They were welcoming to our children and happily tailored food to meet their desires.“
“If I can say one thing, it's that this restaurant is so underrated....Little Asia cuisine serves some delicious Thai food. They are known for their sushi made with black rice. We were a party of like 9 people and were all pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. The service we received was great. Clean environment and very affordable.Pictured here is their orange chicken, which was finger licking good, and that is out of character for a germaphobe like me to say or do ?Follow me on IG @igooglereviewyou“
“We came here for the first time and we are so glad we did. The food is excellent! We had the yellow tail hamachi, some shrimp tempura and a dynamite and rainbow roll and everything was on point. Full of flavor and just delicious. Our server Chin was amazing, super friendly and he made good recommendations and was just so nice to have great service. We will definitely be back!“
“When you walk in for dinner the lighting gives a warm atmosphere. Very clean non-cluttered feel to the place. We had hot sake, egg rolls, and edamame during happy hour. Following a few rolls which were all delicious and of course some fresh sashimi. A definite place to stop by, vibe and happy hour with loved ones or “
“First time my daughter and I tried Kona Grill at Desert Ridge. We truly enjoyed our lunch experience. We felt like a drink and ordered original margaritas with a salted rim...delicious and yummy ? Sushi was on our minds for today, so we ordered salmon and cream cheese and California rolls to split. Very tasty and the Wasabi and fresh ginger were perfect! Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures. Our server was excellent and very attentive; we will return!“
“Hands down the very best sushi in the state of arizona. Anytime I am in town. My entire family eats here, and we bring all our friends here. They are friendly, courteous, clean, and their food is 5 star. If you're lucky enough to talk to the chef, hes shy, and humble and will make you anything you want within reason, Of course but they are just the best. I wish they were in my Hometown. Eat here when you can. It's the healthiest and yummy's sushi place I have ever eaten at!!!!!“
“Love this place. Owners are always there. Fresh and unique items if you like more traditional sushi. It’s a lot more than just tuna and salmon. If you sit at the sushi bar, the chefs will talk to you and make recommendations and actually have a personality which is rare. I’ve never had sushi chefs, maintain a conversation with me over the course of a meal. I let them pick and choose where I go and customize whatever they wanna do, I love it; it’s a great experience“
“What a pleasant surprise this was! Food was absolutely delicious service was great you don’t need much with the revolving conveyor. I will definitely be coming back. I couldn’t believe the bill for All the food I just ate. I recommend to everyone in the area.Parking: It’s in the back plenty of space.Kid-friendliness: I brought my 10 year old here with no issues“
“Went in and got some take out for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this place. The bartender who took my order was extremely friendly and shared lots of info about the restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, we'll definitely be coming back here for dinner. My lunch sushi was amazing! My boyfriend is a chef and has spoiled my taste buds a bit and I could really taste all the high quality/house made ingredients that really set them apart.“
“Our waiter was super nice! My boyfriend had always wanted to take me here and I loved it. It's such a cute little place and I just love the atmosphere. We got shrimp tempura and pork belly as appetizers. I got pork belly yakisoba and we got a tiramisu to share. It was all absolutely delicious and I would definetly come back!“
“I ordered teriyaki chicken and sesame chicken. I loved both, but I will have to tell them not to make the Teriyaki chicken too hot. It did take me 3 days to eat it all... worth it, but I was a fire-breathing dragon. I will eat here again.Parking: Great, easy parking right out front.“
“Loved it.I have been craven sushi for a few days. Found this spot in a google map search. It had good reviews. We went, the food was fantastic and fresh. We must have been hungry because I forgot to take my pictures of the food. You did see the pictures I did take? Lacking, but trust me, it's goooodt. This is all you can eat, made to order sushi and other items.“
“This is the first time in years that we left a sushi restaurant feeling so disappointed. We have eaten sushi all over the world and this was the worse so far. I reminded my husband that we didn't like it last time, but we thought we would try it again since it had been awhile and it is right around the corner from our house. Never again. Not sure why it shows up as three stars. I would not give it three stars. maybe two....“
“Every visit we have had I think her name is Merica. She has been very helpful with the menu. Food is very tasty, they have high quality meat which is why the prices are a tad bit more than most places. The carneasada/steak has the best flavor out of all the taco places in AZ“
“All around 5-stars. With the rising food costs, I was shocked to see the menu items are actually very reasonable, especially for the service, upscale atmosphere, and of course the sheer quality of the food.If you're looking for a stellar meal, top-notch wait staff, and a sophisticated experience....Hillstone nails it.Be sure to visit their sister restaurant, Houston's, as well.“
“This is a super busy rotating sushi bar. It's good for good reasonably priced sushi. If you are looking for an upscale sushi restaurant, this isn't it. This is casual, quick, and pick from the conveyer belt sushi. They do have some made to order choices as well. Skip dessert, though. Go somewhere else for that.Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian sushi options on the belt.“
“I’ve been here before but today was just amazing! I stopped in for lunch with my mom and uncle and we all loved it. First off, Camille was so sweet and attentive. She was an excellent server and full of joy. All of the sushi we had was great as well, and the teriyaki chicken was also great! Appetizers were generously portioned and I highly recommend the takoyaki and shrimp tempura as well as the gyoza. The excellent food quality and service cannot be beat! I’ll definitely be back and recommending this location to my friends and family.Dietary restrictions: The menu has indications for what foods are gluten free and what is raw fish. Ingredients are clearly listed if you have any intolerances.“
“Service was very delightful, Food was amazingly delicious! I am very pleased and will definitely be coming back here at least once a week. They only had one server and she did a great job working the entire floor. All by her self!Parking: You can park wherever there is an opening.Kid-friendliness: They have Ice cream and cheesecake and non-alcoholic beverages.“
“Hands-down, some of the best pokey I’ve ever had as well as the services phenomenal the person at the counter made me feel welcome and made me want to come back more often and I feel like I got treated very well here. I’m definitely would recommend this place to anybody and everybody to at least try once, and I guarantee you’ll be addicted.“
“This restaurant always comes through for us. It is our local go-to place for a Phoenix sushi roll and large bowl of Miso soup with a side of tofu. Yum. Prices are reasonable considering other sushi places that have outrageous prices and lower quality. The service is always efficient and friendly. It's a little neighborhood gem.“
“It's a very cute little space and the service is excellent! I will say, I've definitely spent equal money for better quality, but I was not upset at the overall expirience. The black rice is delicious! Definitely reccomend their signature echo tower and the sashimi is very fresh. Unfortunately the sashimi outshined their rolls and we started with the sashimi. We will be back, but just for the sashimi and appetizers.“
“Our waiter went very well with my family of 7 people. I don't remember his name but excellent service. Apart from the service, the food is also very delicious! I had the spoiled roll, fresh strawberry water and the oysters. They sang beautifully for the birthday boy, and the cake was free.“
“We were looking for sushi close to GCU and we found this cozy little place. We have never heard of Mexican sushi have it a try and we’re in love. If you love Mexican food and sushi....you NEED to try this! The staff was very friendly and made excellent suggestions!“
“Everything is delicious, I highly recommend the sushi, the owner is delicious and the shrimp culichis 10/10. @Dulcemorales I'm surprised by your comment, since I ate there on Saturday and we loved the culichis shrimp, one of the best dishes, excellent service and delicious food... Greetings.“
“*2024 Update: I've since gone back multiple times and have never noticed foul music anymore, but I'll leave the old review below for context. Glad they did something about it.*Just went there and decided to leave after hearing them play some of the most vulgar music I've ever heard. Not usually a problem I've noticed, but have to call them out here.. Not safe for the family.“
“The service was awesome! Our server was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The restaurant is not huge, it is a nice size with a warm atmosphere. It was very busy which to me is usually a good sign. We have had a hard time finding a sushi place that didn't serve 99% cooked/tempura rolls. Until we came here! We had five different rolls ALL uncooked with no cream cheese! Our two requests when eating sushi. We also had three different types of sashimi, all tasted amazing and very fresh! The bluefin sashimi is RIDICULOUS in the best way!! We will absolutely be back...this may be our new go to sushi place. It was worth the drive! Also, the owner Alex was very nice, professional and was actively helping in all areas of the restaurant. You can tell he loves what he does and is so knowledgeable about sushi! He had great recommendations!“
“This place is incredible, the location, atmosphere, the food is a 10/10 . Staff is pretty good looking but they didn’t check on me . Just like maybe once and I was there for like an hour and a half. Tip is earned not just given just saying.“
