Been coming to va bene for years. It's pretty consistently good. Easy parking, easy to make a reservation, and great staff always. One thing to love about this place is it doesn't have the AZ strip mall restaurant feel inside. You feel like you're in a nicer restaurant. The food is always perfection. I nearly always get the rigatoni bolognese which I know seems basic, but they do such a great job. My husband was wanted escargot. He ordered it and it tasted good but he really wanted it in the conventional way. He also ordered an Italian margarita and veal parm (even though it's not on the menu. He asked for penne on the side. All he received was good but he didn't like being charged extra for the penne considering the price of the veal entre'. I ordered the penne sis Illini which was tasty and the penne, eggplant, tomatoes and basil were cooked just al dente as I like them....read full review

Italian is our favorite. But this is beyond our expectations. You can tell they have quality meat. Warm ambiance with friendly service by Daniel.We started with Bruschetta. 5 pieces generously loaded. Best I have had in a while.Then we ordered the Lamb Shank.
