The rooms are outdated and absolutely disgusting and have a VERY strong smell of poorly cleaned smoke from years ago. The amenities are really nice, but the rooms are so old and disgusting that we left and went elsewhere. For a 4-star resort, this place was abysmal — you can get a SUBSTANTIALLY nicer accommodation for the same price at nearby hotels. Location and amenities are nice, people were friendly, but the actual rooms are motel grade at best. Pardon the pun, but this is genuinely the butte-hole of Tempe-area resorts.Hard pass on going here ever again. Look around the immediate area, there’s much better 4+ star places for comparable prices.

Rooms are so basic and it was so much for just one night , I paid $488 for a Saturday night ..The service is amazing at the cafe , and the top of the rock was amazing. The only thing that I was not happy about was the AC it would make a noise all night. I was not able to sleep because it kept waking me up.

Some things are definitely getting dated but it appears that the facility is actively trying to upkeep things. Conference center and amenities are very nice. The pool is absolutely beautiful! The restaurant and food was very good. The room could have been a touch cleaner.

This is just this great hidden gem of a place. The pools are great. The multiple spas so fun. The two restaurants very good. We loved our room. The service was excellent. I’ve always loved this place.

It was a great experience. The rooms need updating badly. Some of the wallpaper was peeling. And the AC unit seems inconsistent. But the staff was great. The food could be a lot better for the price. But the scenary is amazing!

Was very disappointed in this place. I booked a room from the 11th to thee morning of the 15th, it was only 170isha. Night. Morning of theb11th my reservation is gone despite me having the information. So I have to rebook day off for 350ish a night. Then I get there and they said they'll send someone to my vehicle with a baggage cart for my girls things. They never sent anyone. I called the front desk 3 times before they told me they don't have baggage carts. Having stayed here alot for a decade or 2 now and dated a former employee, I told then they were down stairs on the east side of the building, near the elevators, behind the door and gate right there at the entrance, but they were locked in there. Staff said they'd send someone over there. Never did. In the room the shower had nothing, you're talking no soaps or shampoos, just empty inserts and a really gross gelatin like leftover from a prior guest in the shower floor that did not sink down the drain. I called down for a maid, they said it would be done by the time we got back from dinner. It was not, they just came in, moved stuff we had on the bed off, maybe changed the sheets and left, didn't touch the bathroom anything. So there was no shower usage.I've stayed here with family, for work, for enjoyment many times and when family has come to visit I put them up here. But this time it was such a huge negative I can honestly say I won't recommend this place to anyone again.I did not stay passed the first night and took my business across town to the crowne who immediately took care of us and went up and beyond for us when we showed then the photos of the bathroom gelatin and things from this hotel. Their management staff even compt us extras on their hotels dime, strictly because of treatment of your hotel. They definitely blew it away on service and cleanliness, not to mention they sent someone right away to our vechlie with a luggage cart. The buttes was my family's first choice go to for decades and now after this trip it's clearly not

This is possibly the most outdated " resort" I have ever stayed at. The room had a moldy smell. No microwave. Did have a cheaply made coffee maker. The grounds were pretty. The restaurants overpriced. Overall just an overrated outdated Marriott property. Hope they update one day.

First place I ever stayed in Phoenix and its still a wonderful place. Wonderful location, relaxing pool area, food events close by. Really friendly and helpful

If you’re staying here because of its proximity to spring training baseball - I get it, you can’t be the location. For everyone else, stay away. “Resort” is a joke in this context. Dated and worn rooms. Closed (roped off with caution tape) spa/hottub facilities. The same breakfast spread as a Fairfield Inn. Staff is friendly, but unwilling to do anything to actually help remedy situations. Terrible property and experience and would highly discourage anyone looking for a resort experience from staying here.

Lovely resort. Staff is wonderful, and the resort is just gorgeous with multiple pools and hot tubs overlooking the Phoenix skyline.

This hotel smells awful. They have so much air freshener in the hallways and rooms, it’s making me nautious and there is no escaping it. It’s even in the gym (though less).. I left my sliding glass door open all night to air out the room. And I see why the scent it so heavily: it smells like dirty carpet! And after two days the bathroom smells like a sewer. I am checking into a new hotel. I dread going back in to get my things.

Buyer beware…..booked an extra night in a rush, one day before a reward stay that I booked a month in advance. This hotel has a block of rooms offering excessive highway noise. They show up first on the hotels website. My bad! My advice, pay the extra dollars unless you don’t need to sleep at night………very disappointed. So I asked for another room and they switched me immediately! THATS why I prefer Marriott! Customer Service!
