If I could give zero stars, I would! Service - arrogant and rude staff. There are empty tables, still they won't seat you and will make you wait without a reason. Food - mediocre and overrated. Just drive another 2.5 miles and go to India's Flame for better and authentic Indian taste! Ambience - mediocre. The walls are clean. The tables are dirty and bathroom was filthy. We were offered to seat at an unclean table. When I asked to change, the host was extremely rude and arrogant. Price - overpriced! You're better off at another Indian restaurant. Will not be visiting this The Dhaba anymore nor recommending it to friends and colleagues due to the poor service and bad attitudes. We're not paying $$$ to come be treated rudely.
Always the very best food, and service. This has been my #1 favorite restaurant for 10+ years. If you are looking for a great first experience eating Indian food, this is the spot to go. Literally nothing negative to say, even if I tried, about this place!
Rude service! Saw almost 10 members leave without having their food today because of one guy's behavior! They were all ill treated. Feel sorry for those guys. Wonder why they even paid. Hope he is taught a lesson.
Worst service! I'm sure they'll close down soon enough with that kinda attitude. Food quality has degraded over time. The only good people there were the waiter brothers who seem to be matured enough. Without Raveen sir around, people are making the place a mess.
This place has great authentic food and service, the chef came out himself to see if we were doing fine like he cared about us. And on top of that, the owner gave us rice pudding for free haha
If I could give them negative stars, I would. I went there with my brother’s family today who have a five year old and my sister in law is pregnant. The service was abysmal to say the least, we waited 15 minutes for the drinks that we ordered and had to keep calling on them for the drinks that they missed. We asked them thrice about when we could place the order for the main course since we were all hungry, with a patient response we might even have waited longer but one of the workers came up to us and said we are free to leave if we don’t want to wait. We called for the manager who tried to pacify us and while we were talking to the manager this waiter had picked a fight with another elderly couple on another table, whom he also asked to leave. I don’t know why this guy was not fired on the spot, maybe the manager does not care about one family leaving. With this attitude they definitely lost us.
Great food , Good ambience!!!Polite and courteous staff. The place to visit to satisfy Indian food Cravings .
Really enjoyed the food and I had a talk with the owner but he was nice and fun to talk with in general. Without a reservation waiting time was a little long compared to week days but it was worth the wait!
Don't let the good reviews fool you. The new owners suck. We showed up at 745pm to grab a seat for dinner but they were too packed and told us to come back the next day. We called to see if we can make lunch reservations and they said they open at 11am. We show up at 11am to be told to come back between 1130 and noon. Why do you verbalize us the night before that you open at 11, your website says you are open at 11, and google says you're open at 11? When you don't plan to open at 11? Anyway - you suck and there are plenty of better Indian spots around the corner. Don't waste your time here.
The currys are watery. The naan is decent. The kebabs were average. Very underwhelming. Nothing like Indian Dhaba food.
**update: food made me throw up** Please don't spend your money here. The food was so bland- as an Indian it was a disgrace. I shared my concern with the "guy who owns it" (the cook) and he was not willing to really listen. The customer service was so bad the food tasted even worse :) the manager was not even responsive to my complain about his staff. kept saying I should "know" that on the weekends that they are really "busy" but that wasn't my issue. Save your money and taste buds.
the best restaurant in tempe. the naan is so good and all of the curries are great. best eaten family style with a group.
The greatest test of specialty food in my opinion is whether or not it satisfies a native. My India born friends rave when I bring them here. I love the deliciousness. It's always nice to share something you love with friends and have them love it too
I feel the need to post an update to my previous review, not for any negative reasons, but simply to express some additional appreciation for the wonderful staff here who have always taken care of me as well as my family and friends. Though I am only a college student and at times it's not possible for me to visit more than once a month on my budget; the Dhaba has become something of a second home to me in the the 10+ years that we've been eating here and I hope for many more years to come. Raveen, Karem, Robbie and all others who have worked tirelessly to deliver fantastic food and service, I cannot thank you enough.
Damn good service… super fast. Amazing food. Must try. Friendly staff.
