this have been a favorite place for years - ginza has incredible chefs dedicated to their craft, and ever friendly and considerate waitstaff. if you're going, although the sushi is great, i highly recommend taking advantage of the izakaya experience. think of it like tapas, and spring for soft shell crab, sunomono, agedashi tofu, and broiled collar instead of just different maki. alternatively, sit at the sushi bar and ask for omakase ; the few times i've done this, i've always been served spectacular meals. be sure to specify if you have budget constraints, food allergies, or preferences (no to oyster shooters, yes to tartare?). truly a special dining experience no matter what.

Reporting in just to counteract a certain yelper's racist, anti-mexican remarks. The sushi rice is always magnificent and the fish quality is amazing. Albeit a little bit expensive this place is a go-to destination spot for dates and business meetings. Please give it a shot and try the $12 o-toro mountain roll!!!

Good ambiance and nice food. Probably the best Japanese cuisine in the Tucson area.

Fantastic sushi that's very fresh! Friendly staff. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star is sometimes it is hard to get through to someone on the phone. We ordered take-out a couple of times during covid so it may have been due to that.

We got their most inexpensive boat (5 rolls) and the pork steamed dumplings and everything was absolutely delicious. I almost got a second order of the pork steamed dumplings. Finding good fish in Tucson is an absolute delight. Thank you, Ginza!

Tonight was probably our sixth or seventh visit to Ginza since our first, which was in November 2020. We live near the University, so it's quite a drive to go somewhere out to the northeast, but Ginza is always worth it. My wife has lived and studied in Japan, and so we're always on the lookout for good Japanese food. We like some other Japanese restaurants in Tucson quite well, but none of them compare to Ginza. They offer a wide range of options, from "safe" American-friendly options like yakisoba and teppanyaki to much less common offerings like ika geso and sanma shio. And all of it is delicious. The sushi and sashimi are excellent - fresh, generously and appropriately portioned, and expertly prepared. For nigiri, I especially recommend the saba and the inari. Ginza has quickly become one of our very favorite restaurants, bar none. The service and food are outstanding. If you get a chance to eat here - take it.
