“I was so excited to hear about this place opening and finally went tonight. Im happy to say that my high expectations were exceeded. The vibe, service and food were all 10/10. I have tried the odd oyster before and never really enjoyed them like I did here. It was delightful to sit at the bar and have one of the owners shucking the oysters and prepping our dinner right in front of us, with lots of fun info and banter along the way. The way the bar’s setup made makes for a social dinner experience easy to chat with people next to you. So refreshing to see a hip place like this in the comox valley. Would reccomend for a fun dinner with friends or a great date night. We had the crude and shrimp roll along with the oysters and everything was so fresh and delicious. House made hot sauces were delicious too”
“Staff are friendly and welcoming. There is a bar in the washroom. The egg yolks are vibrant orange, cocktails are great, maple syrup is real and excellent.Nuff said?”
“Visiting the island and we discovered this gem! I'm a former Montrealer who has had many, many Greek style pizza....meaning lots of cheese, thick crust and loaded down with toppings. These thin crust, light on sauce pizzas may be the best I ever tasted. It's huge, although eight slices, airy and light....I had the Grow a Pear....omg, it may be the best I ever had! You need to eat here!”
“I come here all the time because it is simply better than anywhere else in the valley? The staff are unbelievably kind, attentive and speedy, the service is phenomenal and food comes out before you can believe and it always tastes exceptional. Incredibly quick service, good prices that put every other restaurant in the area to shame and food that never ceases to amaze, Sushi Wara is not just the #1 sushi restaurant, they are the #1 restaurant in town!!!!!!!Vegetarian options: Tofu and Vegetable alternatives for most seafood/meat dishes are lovely, I recommend the spicy agedashi tofu or my personal favourite; the asparagus roll which has delicious deep fried asparagus!”
“Good place to go for food as much as beer, beer is consistent but food is just great and changes for specials. Beware parking lot is tiny and sometimes hard to access. One of best brew pubs in the area.”
“Everything is always delicious, home made bread for the sandwiches with fresh ingredients and you can taste the love in the soup and baked goods. Staff are super friendly and it has a nice local atmosphere.”
“Amazing pizza! Perfect crust, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings. Friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more!”Vegetarian options: Shahi paneer plzza”
“The chicken karaage, unakyu sushi, and shrimp dumpling was super delicious. I like the little grocers at the front. It is a take out joint, but they have one table at the front.”
“The cafe staff is incredibly friendly and creates a welcoming atmosphere. The coffee and treats served are delicious. It's common to run into a friend at the cafe. Despite the busy atmosphere, they ensure quick and cheerful service. I also love that they’re on Skip.”
“Finding a gluten free breakfast on the go is always difficult, but in airports it’s next to impossible. On The Fly has the most delightful gluten free spanakopitas though and I was shocked! They also have oat and almond milk for drinks and they are so kind and genuinely happy. Made for a very happy celiac :) thank you.”
“Our server Nathalie was super experienced and an excellent server. She took great photos and never stopped running tables with a smile. When it came time for the bill she had no troubles splitting them up and thanks to her our early retirement party was seamless. The food was really good as well, dine out options of portobello and ling cod and trio of dessert were all delicious”
“Always a pleasure to visit Avenue B. Seated quickly by friendly staff. Had the charred Ceasar salad. Unique and very tasty. Loved the fried capers and croustini. My wife had the fish and chips and I, the buttermilk chicken burger. Both were perfectly prepared. Side order of fries not needed but wow!!! I especially enjoyed my added truffle seasoning. Should also mention the professional and friendly staff. Attentive without being intrusive. Thanks for making it a great evening. We'll be back to further explore the menu!”
“First time here. It's head and tails above the usual filling stations I've eaten at locally.Comox has an issue with Asian food. It's generally dumbed down and comes across at food court fair.I'm not saying the Japanese restaraunts in the Valley are horrible. Their not. Their OK. On the same level you'd get at a bargain outfit in Vancouver . Ahra is different . It's better and is punching well beyond its weight for the area. As an example . Tempura. Something I go out for and don't mind paying a premium for when it's surprises you. And it does. The Nigiri was also on par with anything you'd get in a place with serious competition. The rolls were also great as part of the seafood combo. The portions aren't huge if your a big eater so order more. Prices are in line with the area. Give it a try. Well worth supporting this business in their attempt to elevate this cuisine in the area . 8/10”
“Great place to eat out and socialize with your friends. The food is tasty and I absolutely love the aviation-themed atmosphere. They have such an incredible collection of old aircraft artwork.”
“5⭐️+ This restaurant is a hidden gem all around. The chef is big city talent, creative and exceptional food plated as art. The server was very attentive, warm and friendly.”
