“Small and cozy Japanese bistro restaurant with excellent food, wide range of menu and reasonable price. It is a hidden gem in Tsawwassen. It is a wonderful place for solo, or just small group of 4 or less as the space is small and can't fit for larger groups.“
“Some of the best and freshest sushi I’ve had in a long time. The salmon and toro was literally melt in your mouth, the yam roll was awesome, excellent service, great prices, there are tons of sushi places around but there is something about this place that makes me drive out once a week. Keep it up Toto Sushi!“
“Great location with lots of parking, clean, the service is excellent and the food never disappoints. Tasty, plentiful, and priced right. It's the only Japanese restaurant I recommend. Have been to others in the area, but always come back here.“
“The food here is my top favourite sushi place in the area! The staff are friendly and helpful. When I had my braces put on my teeth, they made me giant portions of miso soup, so I could eat something at home while my teeth pain calmed down. The bento boxes have good portion sizes and the flavour of the food is always yummy! Highly recommend.“
“Great place. Service is always good when you dine in. I've ordered take out and delivery and the quality is always consistently good.Parking: It's in a strip mall that usually has ample parkingKid-friendliness: Good seats, mainly booths but a couple of tables and they have a high chair or twoWheelchair accessibility: Good seats, mainly booths but a couple of tables. Also a relatively flat entrance but single door with a sharp turn.“
“This place was delicious and authentic, I appreciate the details and the side dishes - spring roll, fried tofu and seaweed with rice. Yum Chicken Teriyaki! Love the tray! I wanted to take one home~ Their service was attentive and polite! The ambiance is cozy inside and it has a Korean door bell to call the server which is useful. Their lunch special was only $13.00 totally worth it! I will definitely be coming back here for lunch! I'm looking forward to trying their other lunch special dishes and their other dishes too“
“I love this place, it's become a personal favourite for my partner and I. The sushi is amazing, and the building is small in a cozy way. My only negative is that I'm not a fan of the ramen and udon's broth, but everything else on the menu is very good.“
“First time coming here and will come again to try out other rolls! I was so excited to try this place out finally and now I have to come back again! The food was delicious! The sushi rolls are massive and well worth your money both in quantity and quality. The sushi is fresh and the salmon is very tasty!Ordered the Angry Bird Roll and is by far one of the tastiest rolls I’ve had in awhile. Salmon sashimi was delicious on top of their house roll and it was nice and tangy and spicy. The miso soup is quite good too. It’s nice seeing a wonderful place like this in the Edmonds area of Burnaby. Great service and excellent portions will have me coming back again when I’m craving that delicious sushi roll.Parking: Plenty of parking in the free lot and street“
“I’ve eaten here enough to say there’s no bad item on the menu!last call is at 8pm—tried the negitoro, spicy salmon, chopped scallop rolls and toro & salmon nigiri. all very fresh and the toro was the best thing I tried that night. service is super nice! would definitely go again and recommendwait can get a bit long, but totally worth it“
“This place has EXCELLENT, fresh food and the staff were SO friendly! The reason why I gave 4 stars for atmosphere is that the seating area is very small (but CUTE!) and so you may not be able to plan to be seated when you go. We had takeout and it worked very well. Would definitely go again! I order the salmon oshi and it’s probably the best tasting dish out there! Loved it!“
“not terribly busy and reasonably tasty food, lots of options for everyone. aburi, sashimi are both pretty decent if nothing special. tons of rolls which are generously sized. anyone who thinks this place is too expensive is simply wrong - find me 3 other places in metro vancouver with a similar priced menu that isn't bottom of the barrel quality.“
“We wanted to try something new and we did. Nobi Nobi is a cute eatery in the Coppersmith mall, next to Tim Horton. When we walked up, we almost went into Tim's instead of Nobi Nobi. The waitress wanted us to order our meals before sitting down. Above the cashier is a screen filled with sets. There were chicken, beef and unagi sets. Sets included a bowl of rice, soup and side dishes. I chose the chicken and my wife chose the unagi. We didn't have to pay for our order but was directed to an empty table. It was a pretty busy place. With less than 10 tables, this place was buzzing until closing time. When our sets came, we were impressed with the tray. Everything neatly organized and appetizing. We couldn't wait to dig in. The taste was just right. My chicken teriyaki was delicious, along with miso soup, salad with peanut dressing, a piece of Daikon and agadeshi tofu. Only improvement I see is that the waitress can refrain from speaking mandarin to customers who think this place is Japanese. They also have a frequent eaters' club for you to collect stamps.“
“First time at sushi box, very impressed. The sushi is fresh and tastes awesome. Got the tiger roll, spicy sashimi, Alaska roll, and a few pieces of nigiri which was packed with tons of flavour can tell fish is fresh and high quality. Amount of food and quality was worth it for its price. Service and atmosphere was great!“
“Jenny and her husband run this ma and pop spot with an updated place the restaurant itself is comfy and welcoming Always inviting with a warm welcome and a happy fairwell it keeps you coming back food is second to noneParking: I always park above London drugs plenty of sports there“
“This time I received a course for 120 dollars, but I was surprised at how comprehensive it was!All of them were delicious, but I like the grilled enkawa the best because I think it has a pleasant texture. It was a restaurant I would like to visit again in a different season.“
“Auntie is so kind! The Teppanyaki is authentic Taiwanese style. Abei is very good at frying steaks. I ordered sirloin and filet during my first visit. They were super tender and delicious! The bean sprouts are also super fragrant, and the sauce is neither salty nor greasy and goes very well with rice.“
“A sushi place you could easily miss located between Wicks Cafe and Cafe De L'Orangerie in a complex that has pretty tight and few parking spots. The interior is clean and has several tables for indoor dining. When we came at lunch on the weekend, the place filled up quickly. The have an extensive menu. At first, you think they only do Poke bowls, but they actually do everything a Japanese restaurant normally serves. We settled for ordering their bento sets. Taste wise I liked the Aburi Chasiu and the sushi rice was nicely flavored. Their rice bowls were good tasting, large size and filling. On the other hand, the sashimi that came with the bento boxes were thick cut like you would get at a value sushi places; and the tuna sashimi was chewy/stringy. I wouldn't get sashimi here if it was on its own. The kids liked the California Roll, pretty standard. And I liked the Chopped Scallop Roll, pretty standard. These were included in our bentos. 10% off if you pay by Cash.“
“Haven't been to Yuu for a while and we went back last week. Price didn't go up much despite the inflation. Kids order some special drink and the staff even gave them a small ice-cream cone to top it off. Great gesture. Would definitely be going back more often.“
“Best Izakaya type restaurant hands down in Richmond.Must visit when in Richmond!Parking and LocationVery easy to find on No.3 Road. The parking is plentiful with the parking lot directly in front and back of the mall.AtmosphereExtremely great decor that is of a typical Izakaya eatery in Japan. Reminds me of Tokyo and some other in Japan. There is also a big screen TV for those who wants to watch sports. There are a few rooms for more private spaces but floor space is plenty.FoodThe food is excellent! From the uni sushi to sashimi, to the robata of beef tongue and chicken knee, everything taste excellent. There is a wide variety of choice in sake, both hot and cold. The beer is great, especially the Okinawan draft beer, which has a clean taste and goes down quite easy.ServiceThe best if all is the service. The owners, Glenda and Spencer, may also join you for a quick drink! Their hospitality is the best of the overall experience. It reminds I me of Izakaya places in Japan where the owner joins you in chatter and drink. Definitely a great experience overall.Geanbei Izakaya is highly recommended for both a place for excellent food as well as a place for a gathering. Will definitely visit again whenever I'm in town. I would say this is my local hangout whenever I'm in Richmond to see family and friends.“
“Great sushi! Have enjoyed them a few times now, order and pick up as their location is very small and not a relaxing atmosphere when it's busy. But highly recommended for takeout, great quality and value. I typically order both rolls and sashimi. Try the Pokemon rolls, they're pretty epic.“
“I have dined in and ordered take-out from Myomi Sushi several times over the past couple of months. I absolutely adore their sushi and lunch boxes. The staff is consistently fantastic, even during busy times, and the restaurant maintains a pleasant and clean atmosphere. The value for the quality of food is excellent. However, parking can be a bit tight, so I suggest arriving early. Also, making a reservation in advance is highly recommended.^__^“
“Our first experience at Sushi Moro Burnaby was great. The service was excellent as our tea was always refilled, plates cleared and food delivered on time. The sushi was flavourful and fresh. We will be back again. Thanks sushi modo! We got the salmon Oshi, Saba oshi, chefs roll, popping roll and “
“The fresh sashimi, grilled fish and boiled fish were also excellent. The staff and chef are all very pleasant, and the inside of the restaurant has a calm atmosphere. Two private rooms are also recommended for celebrations and gatherings with family and friends.“
“Top-notch sushi experience, eh? The chef, super friendly and Japanese, really kicks it up a notch with his delicious flair and generous portions, eh? The miso soup? Absolutely killer, eh? Couldn’t resist grabbing one to-go, eh? Highly recommend, bud! ?????“
“I had a lovely lunch of Assorted Oden at Gyo-O recently. It was a simple meal, but Oden isn't something that I see often around here so I was very happy to be able to order it at Gyo-O. There's another restaurant in Richmond that's supposed to specialize in Oden, and I had tried it one time but found it quite disappointing. While there was a wide variety of Oden to choose from, we weren't very impressed with the food when it arrived at our table. Oden is meant to be a hot wintertime stew but the broth that was served with our oden was not at all hot. This Oden at Gyo-O was much better. The broth was hot as it should be, and the size of the food was impressive. The tofu and daikon were both massive! Such humungous chunks of tofu and daikon. I'd had Oden in Japan not too long ago, and the daikon there was also huge. This daikon at Gyo-O was quite comparable in size. Possibly slightly larger even. If I have a craving for Oden, I don't think I'll bother searching for any other place in Vancouver to have it. I'll come straight to Gyo-O again! My friend was with me and she ordered a Tendon bento box. She said the rice texture was a bit off, and ended up pouring soup over her rice to moisten it. The tendon though, according to her was very nicely crisped.Service: GoodParking: Plentiful and freeLocation: #2137 - 3779 Sexsmith Rd., Richmond, BC“
“Some time ago, I was fiending for some authentic Japanese onigiri and homestyle food fare since Hi-Genki closed it's doors to the public, and found this little restaurant. It sure hits the spot. The onigiri come nicely shaped, and they have various, classic toppings/flavours, separated into meat/veggie/seafood categories. My personal favourites are ikura, unagi, and pork miso, and they have monthly special onigiris as well. The cream crab and butter scallop were great when they were available. The ikura are nice and big, most likely chum salmon roe from my observation (as someone who buys various sokijo/ikura from fishermen either at ColdFish or Steveston wharf in Richmond when available).Luckily, I'm in the area every week with my young son, and it's his favourite place to eat.He loves onigiris so much, whatever food we are eating for dinner at home, he wants nori seaweed and koshihikari rice to make onigiris out of them, I had to stop him not to make a bulgogi beef congee onigiri...The rest of the food fare has a homestyle vibe in it's preparation, reminiscent to the ever popular Hi-Genki, and there is a lot to choose from the menu.My only criticism is that the place is tiny and has limited seating. The small size does add to it's charm though.Highly recommended!Kid-friendliness: Lots of food the kids will enjoy, seating is good for young children.“
“This place is an easy 5-star for me.Their seafood (poke) bowls are the same price as the ones you could get from pokebowl restaurants, but their sauce and seasoning are on the spot, not too sweet or salty.Already had lunch twice this week here. Can't wait to try their other items.“
“*UpdatePork & sable dishes presented so perfectly that it seemed impossible that they could please the pallett as much as they did the eye, however, they did.Still the timing issue though.OriginalStarted the visit meeting a server we've had in other restaurants, Patrick, fantastic guy.Beginning our meal with scallops prepared in a different way then we are accustomed to was great.Followed with sable fish and seafood risotto mains. All were good, however presented at different times. When two people are out for dinner, it is expected chef will orchestrate coordinated delivery.Room is nice, but very LOUD.“
“This is hands down my favourite Poke spot!! Ingredients are always super fresh and I love that they have detailed nutritional facts - I don't know any other Poke spot that has this. They have an cute app too and you get a free bowl if you collect enough points. :)“
“Hidden gem in the neighborhood. High quality fish and creative fusion menu. Surprisingly low traffic in store so the dining experience feels private. Well decorated and Disney tracks playing softly in the background, makes for a great date avenue.Happy hour menu is not cheaper but just smaller portions, would recommend for trying items on their menu.“
“A place with good mazesoba (dry mixed noodles) with reasonable price! The noodle itself is very flavourful, and they also have condiments like vinegar and chili flakes for you to adjust the flavour to your liking. They also have very generous portion sizes, and you can add extra noodle for free (portion size comes in regular, XL, XXL). They also provide a small bowl of rice at the end to mix with all the leftover sauces at the end.We ordered the Niku Mazesoba (Spicy) for $16.50 and added a soil boiled egg on the side for $1.99. We both left very satisfied. Will definitely come back again!“
“Very good place for izakaya and sushi as they have a good variety of skewers, sushi rolls, appetizer, and some specialty dishes. The mentaiko rice was very flavorful, creamy and we would definitely order this again. The ton Ttoro and shiso chicken were juicy and had a nice charcoal taste. The beef tongue and chicken gizzard were good too, they had a hint of the charcoal fire taste and my wife liked them. The imperial roll was good as the salmon was fresh. The salmon was velvety soft and not like firm wlike when it's been on the fridge for too long.We also got the garlic butter clams as an additional dish because if we just ate skewers, our bill would have been huge. LolThe service was great. They came around and filled our tea so often that our cup was always full. Whenever we needed something, they were there. The food came out quick and when it got very busy, they did advise that the skewers may take longer as they can only make so many at a time. The parking lot isn't too big and it fills up quickly but we were lucky and got a spot right away.“
“Everything was really great! Poutine and chick'un strips were amazing and I would go back for those anytime I wanted some. Pocket samosas were excellent as well. Service was super friendly and we had a nice chat with them. Highly recommend to anyone vegan or not.“
“We got the Crab Cream Croquette which tasted so perfect. The softness and crunch of the croquette was immaculate; plus the included sauce was yummy too 10/10. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was alright- I’ve tasted better but it isn’t bad here 7.5/10.The Scallop Uni Cream was my favourite that was 10/10. The flavour of the Rigatoni Miso Bolognese wasn’t that good. The sauce was a bit watery and it just didn’t have a special flavourful taste to it 5/10. The Shimeji Wafu & Bacon was my family’s favourite. The texture of the noodles were pretty good and it wasn’t overpowering with flavours so it’s good if you prefer lighter tastes 8.5/10. Personally, the Pulled Pork Ragu was pretty similar to the Bolognese, but my brother really liked it 7/10.Dessert was my favourite part of this meal. We got the Matcha Kinako Tiramisu which came pretty fast. It was so delicious and soft, it wasn’t too sweet or heavy so it was so perfect. The matcha powder sprinkled on top had the perfect bitterness too. Toffee Pudding w/ Matcha Ice Cream was very good as well. It was sweeter than the Tiramisu which was no problem. The combination of the cold matcha ice cream and the warm toffee pudding was very very yummy. The wait time for the food was around 10 minutes or less which was pretty good, but I think it is because we also came at a later time (7 pm).“
“This is some of the best sushi ? I have had in a very long time!We were just needing a place to eat near our hotel and felt like this may be a good option from the other restaurants in the same complex. My wife and I didn’t have much expectation going in but were pleasantly surprised by the great service and quality of the sushi! My Son enjoyed his roll, rice and chocolate ice cream as well!So it was a win in our books.Very pleasant experienceKid-friendliness: My son loved it but says more ice cream would make it even better (I personally feel the ice size was perfect)“
“The sashimi and rolls were very fresh and delicious, but what captured my palate the most was the beef teriyaki. The harmony of ingredients and seasoning was just right. The staff were all friendly, kind, and attentive. I will definitely come back with my family.“
“Little restaurant hidden inside the plaza mall. Open on Family Day-BC stat holiday and stopped by for the first time, as a result (other restaurants closed). Called ahead for pickup and was ready on time. Owner saw that I was carrying extra groceries without a bag and offered an extra reusable. So kind. Great food at reasonable price.“
“Finally after so many years I went to this restaurant, always pass by it and never got the chance to go try... Got the Yakisoba and teriyaki beef bento set today, came with California roll and a little salad on the side, portion was enough for a fat dude like me... all for about 17.00 including everything which is quite decent for prices now days... Atmosphere inside was quiet, clean and relaxed.. would definitely start going when back in Richmond..“
“Some very cool and unique rolls and combos at this place, including Korean gimbap as well. I tried a few of their special rolls (sunflower roll, double crunch roll, white dynamite roll, regular gimbap) and enjoyed them all. Tasty and aesthetically pretty. The waitress was also friendly and kind each visit.“
“Ramen restaurant on Alexandra Rd that’s been there for many years now. Broth is rich and super filling. The original broth is very flavorful that you can drink most of it but the spicy broth called Rcmp lacks the same flavorfulness so don’t recommend drinking it.“
“A cut above AND great value! Stopped in here for dinner because we were in the neighbourhood -kind of a random pick. Their take on dishes common all over the city was consistently unique and subtly complex. We will make a point of going back.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. I always like to see an umeshiso roll on the menu (not every Japanese/sushi restaurant has it) and theirs did not disappoint“
“Tried soupless udon for the first time here, and it did not disapoint! The carbonara udon I had was very good. However, my friend found their signature udon with ground beef much too salty. The atmosphere is cute, but the space is small. Good value for money though! I'll b coming back.“
“I ordered the spicy salmon sashimi don for lunch. The portion was huge that I couldn't even finish it. The meal was fresh and delicious, so good. It had the right amount of spicy and cucumbers. Service was quick, just how it should be for a lunch service.“
“fantastic restaurant mixing local ingredients in Japanese dining, but also Japanese imported items if you wish as well. they have a seasonal section that you should always take a close look at. have been multiple times and always a great experience.“
“We ordered Party Tray C and a BC Combo from Sushi Farm in New Westminster, using the Fantuan app. Nothing special like Aburi or Oshi sushi but the food was nicely done. Everything tasted fresh, and it was very good value. The party tray was $36.70 and came with 50 pieces on it, while the BC Combo was $12.55 with a BOGO free offer on it, so we got two BC Combos for $12.55! We'd never heard of this place before. Just found it by looking through Fantuan, but having now discovered it, I think we'll be ordering from here again sometime. They've got a pretty good rating on Google!“
“This a nice little Japanese restaurant ! The staff & waiter is very kind & polite . There food there is very good & tasty ! Reasonable prices with good portion sizes . Alot of free parking and there wheelchair accesible as well . Check it out ! You'll like it !“
“I love coming here. The staff is super polite, friendly, funny and professional. The food is great! The sushi combos are always fresh and delicious for a very reasonable price. The hot dishes are delicious! Never had any problems with my take out. Everything is really well packed and organized!I became a regular already and I plan to keep coming back for as long as I can.“
“The sushi at Tsukiji, while decent, did not quite live up to the standards set by other Japanese sushi houses I've visited. The flavors were somewhat lacking in depth, and the freshness of the ingredients was not as pronounced as I had hoped. The selection was adequate, but it didn't offer the wow factor that I was looking for in a sushi dining experience. The service at Tsukiji was average, neither exceptionally good nor bad. The staff were polite and attentive, but there wasn't a sense of warmth or personalized attention that can elevate a dining experience from ordinary to special. The efficiency of the service was commendable, but it lacked the personal touch that can make a restaurant stand out.Overall, I would rate my experience at Tsukiji Japanese Restaurant as a 5 out of 10. While it provides a satisfactory dining experience, it doesn't quite hit the mark in terms of the exceptional food quality and service that I seek in a Japanese sushi restaurant. It's a decent option for a casual meal, but it may not satisfy those looking for an authentic and outstanding sushi experience.“
“Unlike the other insulting overpriced noodle place in the neighborhood, Kokoro's price is decent, food is amazing. They even have low carbs noodles option! I like it so much I tried the whole menu. Hands down my favourite comfort food restaurant in the neighborhood.“
“We love this Japanese restaurant for the high food quality, high staff quality, reasonable prices in today's market & location! Today, I tried the Nigiri Lunch and loved it! My husband had the double meat chicken teriyaki and some of mine cause it looked so tasty, and it truly was scrumptious ! We started with the Crae crae roll (shared). In my Nigiri lunch, I upgraded the salmon to sockeye, one dollar more, but worth it! The miso soup was perfect for us as we watch our sodium and they only use low sodium soya sauce! The combination of food, service & cost is why they get 5 stars! Any staff we saw were very friendly & said hello & goodbye. Customer service is top notch! Aside note, their green tea is one of the best we've enjoyed, too!“
