It's ok, the bar isn't set too high in Nanaimo for Sushi restaurants, actually restaurants in general but Dami holds its own. Stay away from the imitation crab found in some rolls and you will be alright. I moved here from Whistler where the restaurants are world class, the sushi second only to Japan so my palate has been spoiled. My wife and I tried out for the first time and are very impressed with every single dish we ordered. The quality of food was top-notch and the service was welcoming and friendly. Very reasonably priced and well worth a try. Definitely a hidden gem and possibly one of the best in town for both Japanese & Korean cuisine.

We moved here from the mainland recently and have been on the hunt for a good sushi place in Nanaimo that compares to the ones we've loved. This place is now our go-to for fresh sushi. Great prices as well! The service was good, but not overly friendly on the night we went. The food more than made up for it though!
