As a Nelson local, Main Street Diner has been one of my go to's for many many years and that remains unchanged. The food here is ALWAYS amazing, cooked and presented perfectly and the staff is top notch!Recently, for our 3rd wedding anniversary(March 21st), my wife and I chose Main Street Diner as our place to celebrate and boy did we choose correctly!The staff (as always) were super polite and efficient and the food...oh my god the food was unbelievably delicious! Every single bite on both of our plates were savoured. We chose to split the Calamari dish with caesar salad as well as the Fish n chips this time out and we are still talking about how great our entire experience was that evening, and how every time we eat there we feel the same way!Shoutout to Nick and his amazing staff! Thank you for such great experiences every time we are there! See you again soon!B & X

I was new to nelson and this was the first Restaurant I tried in the city. The service was excellent, and so what's my food. I had a chicken burger there Expecting breaded circular chicken. But instead you got a nice tender/ juicy chicken thigh. It tasted Superb. Would 100% recommend its 9.2/10 in my book. On the second visit I got Buffalo Poutine to my taste the blue cheese over powered most of the other flavors but still was alright for me a 4.6/10. For others may Suit their palates.

We visit Nelson every month or so, and my partner had been wanting to try this place for a while, so we decided to give it a shot. The menu wasn’t necessarily what we were expecting for a diner, but there is a lot of options. Overall, our meals and service were good, but nothing to write home about. We will likely be trying the other restaurants around town before returning here.

Food is excellent quality. Always fresh and well prepared. So many great burgers, melt and wraps to choose from! Best fries in the Kootenays (IMO) and soup of the day that always tastes as if it was literally just finished by Gramma 5minutes ago.. so fresh and yummy!Service staff are phenomenal and friendly. This place is absolutely awesomeNice and cozy and excellent service and lots of food on the plate and piping hotI cannot give this place enough starsWe lived in Nelson for many yrs and have been away for approx 20yrs but we get back every few years and the food here is worth the drive from anywhereAlways look forward to dinners here when visiting

This place just blows your hair back. I think that the Athenian burger is the best burger in all of Nelson. I even mentioned this to a server of a different restaurant and he said (sheepishly) that he had to agree. Fish is incredible and prices are throwback to 1999. Try as I might to show other local restaurants the love they deserve, Main Street Diner is always my top pick. The whole vibe is cozy and welcoming. *I may or may not have eaten here twice this week and have plans to come back Wednesday for the mushroom burger. It's just that good.

Great local diner! We came in to try the burger for Burger Month and it was so good! The owners must have a Greek background as there is a lot of Greek food/ fusions but everything is tasty and the staff were really nice.

Once again, we visited for Nelson's season of burgers. Main Street Diner offered the Menthe Arnaki Burger; as part of Nelson's Burger Month, Main Street Diner offered a Mediterranean spiced lamb burger dressed with fresh mint and feta coleslaw, fresh lettuce, mango chutney, and roast garlic aioli; served on a bun from Fomi's Bakery. The burger itself was a strange one, nonetheless a perfect burger. The mango chutney and roast garlic aioli complimented the lamb and fresh mint, which tied in perfect with the creamy coleslaw. This was probably the freshest (flavour-wise) burger of all the burgers we did sample during the month, and for that reason, it's pretty highly rated by us, its not easy to make a whole burger taste so great whilst maintaining such a high degree of fresh, zesty, savoury, and sweet flavours.
