Really enjoyed my first visit to Sage last night with my partner. The Burger Month Moroccan Lamb Burger was amazingly delicious! So was the lentil donuts and the chocolate torte cake. The service was lovely. The selection of BC wines by the glass and bottle are amazing! Makes me feel at home having moved here from the Okanagan. Great place for a romantic date night. Will certainly return

I ordered a Duck/Coconut soup entrée and an Agli Olio main pasta dish. First faux pas and much to my surprise, I was served both dishes at the same time. The waitress was even surprised that the cook behaved in this manner. I returned the pasta meal even though the waitress offered to put the dish under a heat lamp as well as packaging it for me to take home without charge. First and foremost, I go to a classy restaurant expecting the food to be served fresh and hot. Secondly, I go to a classy restaurant for the culinary experience not a free meal. Seconds faux pas the Duck/Coconut soup was watered down – again disappointing. Let’s go onto desert. My friends ordered a Tiramisu Biscuit – to me it was a unique and interesting desert with tiramisu sauce over a biscuit. The tiramisu I am most familiar with is a layered cake. The problem was not the presentation, the problem was the bottom of the biscuit was burnt. You may not be surprised, but it was returned. Someone (I assume the cook), in their infinite wisdom, decided to remedy the situation by scrapping off the bottom of the biscuit and pouring on more sauce to mask the burnt taste. On the positive side the waitress was pleasant. I'm not sure I would classify this restaurant as one of the best in Nelson

Delightful dining experience. Chef and manager both very personable. Mussels were well prepared and presented in a unique way. The fresh trout was delicious, moist and nicely seasoned. Our favorite Selkirk Loop dinner.

The service was good, the atmosphere was nice, we sat on the patio. I was not happy with the seafood risotto - the rice didn't have that creaminess that makes a risotto, the pieces of fish were too small to distinguish and there were only three mussels in the bowl. I actually asked about the rice and the chef assured us it was a high quality arborio rice. Honestly I don't think the rice we were served was meant for risotto- it looked and tasted more like brown rice. I just think for a $30 dish it was really underwhelming and disappointing.Kid-friendliness: We brought our toddler and the restaurant staff were very accommodating and there was a kids menu .

Started out with the wine selection. Three rieslings by the glass but few other white selections. Ordered a gimlet which was very good. The cucumber wrapped meatballs were very dry and over-cooked. I ordered the curry since the risotto was not available. I added chicken. Chicken pieces were very thin and few. I've never had curry with peas, corn and carrot tops in it. There were the stems of broccolini but no florets. Just very strange. My husband had the trout which was obviously frozen. Our waiter, though nice, had horrible body order. It was loud due to the EDM playing in the bar down below. Disappointing.

Have to say we were not imressed we ordered charcuterie board it had sandwich meat and grated carrotts on it. The profciutto was off color and smelled bad. The board was a mess of food that probably should have been tossed. There were a lot if items on the menu that they didn't have in stock. The bread was so hard we couldn't bite it. Sorry to say we had to send it back and eat elsewhere. Waitress and wine were great.

This special place is comfortable and cozy, with attentive staff and a great view of the lake. The food is remarkably good. We enjoyed three dishes this evening. The charcuterie board was excellent, with at least three types of cheese, salami, and ham accompanied by pickled grapes, tapenade, cherry chutney, olives, nuts, and some dried fruit. It was a meal in itself and delicious! Next up was the raviolo which had a rich, flavorful sauce (including egg yolk) that makes you close your eyes and go "oooohhhhh...that's good!" And finally, the mixed vegetable butter curry with basmati rice and pita bread. This was exactly what you expect from an authentic curry...prepared to perfection. we wish we lived closer to Nelson so we could visit this fine restaurant more often.

Beautiful, cosy, friendly service. Delicious raviolli on the covered, heated patio. Blissful ✨️?

Went for the valentines dinner. Found many dishes disappointing. Risotto appetizer was more like a main, way too salty with very little else in it besides risotto. Short rib sandwich was strange with shrimp added and soggy. Tiramisu was soggy bread with soupy creme. Curry was good. The service was incredibly slow.

After being warned by hostess/waitress that they were very busy (4 tables) we would probably get bad service we decided to stay. We didn’t hesitate and immediately ordered drinks and dinner. After over an hour not once did the hostess/waitress check to see if we needed another drink or let us know how our order was coming along. So we watched for over an hour the 4 tables eat, order dessert and pay and a couple who arrived after us get their meal did the waitress/hostess come to us. She (from Quebec) told us that she forgot to put our order in at all. So after waiting over an hour our order still hadn’t been place. Sage Restaurant this waitress/hostess is not doing you any favours except warning customers that they will be getting bad service before you even sit down. First time ever that we never left a tip.
