“The service here was outstanding. It isn’t a huge space but it’s comfy and inviting inside. The food was very good. Their menu is not overwhelming which helps with decision fatigue. We got shareable plates between four people. We ordered the mac and cheese, the bratwurst / lemon herb chicken sausage, fries and mashed potatoes. Portions are decent and definitely shareable. I also recommend their pineapple beer if it’s still available mmmm. Will be back.”

“I have been away for a few months and upon my return prioritized a trip to my favourite restaurant, Sempre Uno! It did not disappoint! We usually dine family style, but due to some dietary restrictions we each ordered our own meals. The tuna tartare ranks amongst the best anywhere, and my Strozzapreti Al Ragù Di Maiale (a pork ragu) is rich and delicious. We shared a Gorgonzola cheesecake to finish and all I can say is yummy!! Great staff & servers to guide the experience. I look forward to many return trips in the future!”
“Amazing food and friendly service. Wait can get long if you’re coming during weekend mornings, but I’d say it’s worth the wait. I really enjoyed my Salmon Eggs Benedict. The tater tots in the bowl were not the frozen ones I expected, they tasted delicious and crunchy. The coffee was just okay, I didn’t like it a lot so next time I’ll try one of their speciality drinks.”
“The staff is so disrespectful! We arrived at this place around 12:35pm and the hostess said they would have a 35 min wait list. We said ok, got our names in the wait list and left. After 35 min I came back for a time check and the hostess said more 30 min wait. We have a toddler and 1 hour wait would be too much for the toddler. I asked to talk to the manager but the hostess said there was no manager on duty that day. I insisted since that wouldn't make any sense. After begging to talk to the person in charge, finally someone showed up. The manager was even more disrespectful than the hostess - she kept this ironic smile all the time and said that the hostess removed our names from the list by mistake but nothing could be done, not even offer us the top of the wait list and we had to go to the bottom of the list again. She also said they were doing the best they could - I left without saying a word since keep discussing was just pointless - when I walk out the door I just heard "and please don't come back". Just don't come here.”

“Whatever amazing things people tell you about this place it is all true! Jam cafe is breakfast food heaven and the food is blessed by angels. I love their egg Benedict. I don’t think I’ve ever had breakfast food as delicious as this place makes breakfast food. My bf does not like pancakes (he’s a weirdo) but loved their red velvet pancakes. I heard after we left that the lattes they make are amazing and it’s unfortunate I did not get to try one. My only complaint is that they don’t have a shop in Toronto where I’m from.”

I discovered that, when aged and prepared with thoughtfulness and care, I enjoy ALL varieties of raw fish (nor do I need to add soya sauce or wasabi).From the moment you set foot in this establishment it is apparent how much consideration has gone into every detail of the consumers experience. “I love this place a lot! Literally blended into the vibe of the North Shore aesthetic as it is tucked into a very vintage little shoppe, that you can barely see in the Lower Lonsdale community. The only thing you can spot is that little sign hanging right outside the window. This is one of those places, if you know, you know it is a Green Leaf Sushi.I was in the Lower Lonsdale area, because I work along the North Shore now, and had to come drop by for a light lunch before going back to work. I searched it up on Yelp where to eat, and this was the spot. I parked and then walked along the street, passing by this place a couple times and couldn't find it until I looked up and saw that sign. LOL. Yup, it is Green Lean Sushi alright!!I walked into the restaurant and was greeted with a great big smile from the person at the front. The guy at the front was extremely nice and welcoming. I told him it was hard to decide because I have always love the Green Leaf Sushi in K-town Burnaby area a lot. And I told him I have always love their Mackerel Oshi and I always ordered, but I wanted something different that day. I ordered their Aburi Tobiko Roll, and my god it was delicious!!It is different in how they made this version of the Aburi Tobiko Roll, because they have to roll it first in order to then aburi the top of the sushi. The best part was the little japeleno at the top of it to make each bite just a little bit more fruity and spicy. Amazing!! On top of that, they gave me a small side of cooked Mackerel as a side piece! When I told them how much I love mackerel!! I was so happy! It really made my visit so special for sure!! And yes, I will be back sometime in the future bringing co-workers for some sushi!!But to be honest, the best part is just the restaurant itself. It is so beautifully aesthetic to the Vintage North Shore style it fits perfectly. I love the little lights and their decor. It wins for me in every aspect. And of course, they play KPOP on their speakers, I was dancing to Twice and eating my sushi. Perfect atmosphere for sure!! Love the place, and will be back for sure!!”

He mentioned to those waiting that there is only one person working so they knew there would be a wait. He also overheard one customer mention that they were just getting cookies, so while a couple subs were being toasted he helped them with their cookie order. He had that person on their way before the oven was finished toasting, reducing the wait for the rest of us. Positive manner throughout and excellent preparation. Well done!!Parking: There are two 10 minute spots in front of the Army Navy Legion and enough room in the alley to park for a short term parking visit.”

We reached out to a couple of places and Frank from North Point immediately replied and set us up for the following day. The event was amazing, great venue and unreal staff. I got a strawberry donut as well which was a bit chewy but thats yeast based donuts for ya. The strawberry filling was yummy and everything is super well priced. Definitely give it a shot if you are in the area. I will likely be back”

“Overall a great experience and will be returning. Newly opened restaurant serving primarily hotdogs with all the toppings you can think of. The lady at the front counter was polite and helpful with the menu. They were quick to prepare the order. The hotdog came out hot, the bun was fresh, and there were tonnes of hot and cold toppings. They also let you add toppings to your tater-tots, which made them even better. Definitely recommend for those looking for a good quality and prompt experience.”

“Went there 8:00 AM thinking they’d have fresh baked good. Ordered a croissant and a scone. They were at least 1 or 2 days old. Croissant was soggy. The cheese on top came off like rubber and the scone was so dry and stale, it was crumbling. On top of that it cost a fortune. Most definitely a skip. the latte was on par with a Tim Hortons regular coffee. I.e. not a latte at all”

“It was our first visit to this restaurant but not the last. We found this place by chance. We were starving and did not have a lot of time as we had to catch ferry. the staff person was very polite and understanding about it and our dinner was served super quick. Everything that we had ordered was delicious. My husband and I did not expect it to be this good. the staff person was very respectful. I ate good authentic Indian food after a long time. If you happen to be in North Vancouver and craving for Indian food, this is a place to go to. Nice family run restaurant. We will surely be there next time I am in North Van.”

I forgot one of the items on my 2 person order and inquired what oat cold brew beverages they had. It's rare in the service industry not to come across impatient clerks that seem inconvenienced. I just wanted to give a shout out to the excellent staff this morning, I didn't grab their names unfortunately but it was a middle aged woman and a younger man who both helped me with my order at around 9:40am. They were very engaging, they made me laugh and got me my coffee with a smile on my face. They really went above and beyond and I could tell that they were very positive people. “I’m usually here at the weekend after doing the Grind or BCMC in a morning. It’s almost always busy at those times and a nice atmosphere with all the people there to hike, go up the gondola or ski. Despite the crowds, the service is usually fast and my order is accurate. I did however have a hiccup today (Monday 13th November) when the order taker looked like he really couldn’t care, my order was wrong and when I asked for it to be fixed (add milk….that was all) I had half my drink poured out and ended up with cold milky coffee.Whilst I’m on this point, why don’t Starbucks go back to letting me add the milk myself?”

Parking on this part of Lonsdale is difficult because it's mostly free so it's best to drop someone off to line up, them drive around the side streets to find a slot. The tempura and gyozas are okay. The quality of sashimi and consequently the sushi is high. They have fast turnover since they even have a lot of customers at 2pm. Good quality and great prices will do that. My only objection was putting sukiyaki noodles in the Oyakodon. It's not authentic and is a turn off.”

During our previous visit we had a vegetarian Pizza - remember it being just right. I don’t usually like quinoa but they make it like a crispy topping instead of soggy. The daily special crostini with whipped fava bean and burrata - highly recommend! Raspberry lemonade is housemade with fresh raspberry puree and lemon juice mixed with soda, well balanced and not overly sweet. Pizza has that charred bubbly chewy crust reminiscent of pizzas in Italy, 10/10.”

Here's why.....A "Vaziri" dish is a skewer of beef and a skewer of chicken which comes with rice and grilled tomato.....ok here it goes....In any Persian restaurant in the vicinity of Vancouver the lowest price for this dish is $28.00 going all the way to $34.00. The adorable fact about Farsi Food is they offer that dish for $23.99...and here's the real kick....The quality is just as good! So, let's do some basic math here.....at this place you pay less for the same level of quality. They're just not...all high up on my horse about it. If I wanted to pay nearly 35 bucks for a meal, I'd go to a steakhouse and order a filet mignon......get my drift?Loved the Vaziri.The chicken had a beautiful lemon-marinated aftertaste and tender on the inside. The Beef was also pre-marinated and grilled just right. The rice was actually impressive. Persian rice is cooked a certain way. The grains were fully extended and al-dente, which only means they were cooked right and steamed right....oh and it was seasoned. You'd be surprised how many Persian restaurants serve their rice unsalted, which is surprising considering that Persians salt everything generously. The tomato was fresh and had a super tasty bbq'd taste grilled to perfection finishing with a sweet bow.I also loved how the side onion for our to-go order was cut fresh. I mean super fresh. Yes, little bites of raw onion with Persian dishes is very tasty....it just goes....you should try it.Friendly Service.Clean Space.Fair Prices.Why would I go anywhere else? I won’t.”

“Yesterday, on November 4th 2023 a man was following us (two of my friends and me), we couldn’t believe it! He was following us for about 7 minutes and then we run in this subway, locked ourselves in the bathroom and called the subway number, a guy who was on the shift picked up the phone, came in to help us, he opened the back door so we could exit safely and when the stacker tried to exit through that same door, the guy didn’t let him! Our car was parked so close so we drove away right away! The subways employee called me a few minutes later just to check in on us! That’s was very thoughtful and sweet. Thank you so much!!!!!!!”

The quality was fantastic and there was a good variety of cooked dishes, like chicken teriyaki and chicken karaage, along with raw sushi dishes like your classic sashimi and nigiri. “Honey’s Doughnuts is probably the most famous eating joint in Deep Cove. The specialty here is obvious but they also have decent sandwiches. In addition to their flagship honey donut, you can also find maple and chocolate flavors at Honey’s. The honey variety is possibly the best donut I’ve ever had. A word of warning: despite the laidback Deep Cove location, there are long lines and rapid-fire service at Honey’s, leading to a rather stressful experience. But take a deep breath as it’s all worth it once you have the holy grail of donuts in your hand.”

I ordered lasagna.. I knew it wasn't advertised to come with sides like salad or garlic bread.. so one would expect to get a portion that reflects that.... with the price they charge. What I got was a lasagna no thicker than the width of my cellphone. Maybe a tablespoon tops of protein (which there is a blend of ground pork and beef.. We all know thats the cheapest protein available at a the grocery store). 4 layers of flat noodle with a light sprinkle of cheese on top This was the sadest excuse of a serving of lasagna I've ever seen in my life.. It's so small they actually serve it on a bread plate to try and give an illusion of a proper serving size .. Well let's just say they aren't magicians. I understand now why the place was practically empty. I actually feel like I've been defrauded..”
