“Really great service, they helped us have a wonderful first hotpot experience. The food was delicious and there are so many options. The staff are delightful and very attentive. I absolutely recommend doing here.Dietary restrictions: Very good about making sure there were no food options included that had any of our allergy foods.“
“TLDR: worth going at least once, nothing too special. I've been to the Beijing location where Obama visited. (Can't really compare. My review is not based on that experience), nothing spectacular, forgettable taste but worthwhile experience with the white glove service.OverviewFirst things first, our waiter for the night, William, was outstanding and did not miss a beat. Refilled our teas at the right time and individually served our plates. The service and the interior decor made it a very enjoyable experience. We sat in the private room. And this room feels like a boardroom. It is huge with a huge table. So when it comes to a Chinese dinner, it is tough cause the table was so big we had to pass along one dish to another person. We don't have individual meals. That kind of took away from the experience of ease of trying to enjoy your food.EnvironmentWhy I gave the atmosphere four stars was because the outside of the private room, the decor and vibe was very classy, and it felt special. What you want to feel going into a Michelin star restaurant. The grand entrance thar showcases "books" and glassware spanning to the ceiling makes you feel like this is not your average Chinese restaurant. They have 2 separate dining areas. The room to the left of the entrance has a bar area and smalling seating tables. To the left is the main dining hall, dimmer lights and accents of red compliment the fixtures and the feature wall. But inside the private room did not reflect such visuals, and there were a lot of extra chairs on the side with stark white walls and just a strip of red lighting at the baseboards, wasn't giving "grand" at all.ServicePlain and simple service was great. Very personable and attentive. Obviously, the show of slicing the duck was nice to observe.FoodIt seems like every Michelin restaurant that I have been to so far leaves me with the same unsatisfactory sense of being underwhelmed. Not to say that it is at all bad, but the food... the thing you spent the time waiting for an opening, reserving a table, and happily expecting to pay a little more $$ for. The food that is the whole reason that makes this worth it, I personally cannot say that it's something that I would leave the restaurant saying "Wow, I get it. I will crave this and can't wait to come again." Service is a great impression. Plating and interior is Instagram worthy, but I'm here for the food. I'm not a food critic by any means! This was just my personal experience. I am just a regular joe who understands what yummy is.If you're going for the experience, consistency, and perfect service. You will enjoy this place and have a great time. If you're coming for that magical moment you think you'll get when eating this Peking duck, you may ever so slightly wonder if it was "worth it"“
“Pepper pork and chicken soup is rich and delicious, with a lot of chicken and pork belly. There are many styles of cattle and sheep. All kinds of beef have their own characteristics. There are many desserts, including coffee jelly, ice cream, and ice powder. Fried steamed buns, chicken wings and crispy meat are all delicious. Highly recommend eating here. The service is very good (highly praised) and the food is delicious. Membership - $2 per person is a great discount.“
“I love this place beyond words. It satisfies all my senses - from gustatory to aesthetic.I could stare at the glazed duck and perfect green contrast all day, if I didn’t also feel compelled to stuff my face each time I passed by. The roast pork ?Vegetarian options: Not so much: Gai lan? Rice?“
“Absolutely fantastic food! The broth was outstanding, and the portions were generous, especially considering the affordable price. The service was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the chili oil, it was so yummy! We'll definitely be back soon.“
“Super Chef Grill is a fantastic dining spot that offers a unique and flavorful take on classic comfort food. The restaurant's menu features a variety of mouthwatering dishes, from indulgent burgers to creative twists on breakfast favorites. The vibrant and inviting ambiance provides a lively setting for enjoying a delicious meal with friends or family. Whether you're craving a hearty brunch or a satisfying dinner, Super Chef Grill delivers on taste, portion size, and a welcoming atmosphere. The friendly staff and attention to quality make this restaurant a standout choice for those seeking a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience.“
“#kingcrabfeast? upscale, live fish tanks, street parking, free parkade, excellent service."Not only is it one of the recommended restaurants by Michelin Guide Vancouver, Dynasty Seafood Restaurant is also the winner of Vancouver’s Chinese Restaurant Awards in the Best Dim Sum and Best Cantonese categories in 2022. With such a profile, I had very high expectations, and Dynasty totally delivered"“
“A hidden gem on the Kingsway. Was brought here by a friend after skiing and soon became a regular customer. There’s no other restaurant has better Northwestern-Chinese dishes than here. Recommend almost everything on the menu——but pay attention to the nice owner’s recommendations——she knows the best dish of the day!Tips: cash or debit only, NOT accepting credit cards“
“Pleasantly surprised. Didn’t know what to expect. Got the dinner for 3 and 4 adults shared it. We even had a bit of left over. Had it delivery and it came pretty quickly. It was great that it was complimentary because we live within their radius. Very tired of Uber eats/doordash markups for delivery. Apparently if we had picked up the food ourselves it would have been discounted. The food was all quite tasty and reminded me of my grandparents cooking. Flavourful and good portions.“
“Great price for the food choices you get, especially since hotpot broth and sauces are included in the $20.99 AYCE pricing.Highly recommend the lamb slices. And the plum juice (free refills). Tomato soup base is also very tasty and refreshing. Not every hotpot place has this, so be sure to try this out if you haven’t tried it before.Just wished the refill for the plum juice could come in a pitcher like for other soft drinks, instead of having to flag someone down every time you needed a refill. Sometimes everyone is busy and it may take some time to find someone.Come before 1pm if you can. The place got busy around 1:15, and there was a slight wait by 1:30 when I was here on a Monday.“
“I began eating at Healthy Noodle House when it first opened in 2007, and it is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. The the soup is hot, ingredients are fresh, and the flavours are excellent. (The hot sauce is has a great aroma and is not very spicy! I highly recommend adding it to the broth.) Colin loves his business, and he consistently provided friendly service. If you want a hearty and delicious meal with good value, then go to Healthy Noodle House.“
“Really phenomenal food - I don't know any other Chinese food restaurant in town with the same level of quality and atmosphere. I strongly recommend the chasiu, the singapore noodles and the cocktails. My main complaint is the service was a bit slow - it took over an hour to get all dishes, but they came out bit by bit. I would've preferred to eat some with the others that came out later. Also one of the veg dishes had undercooked squash. The reason I'm not going to give 4/5 is the food really is overall exceptional, the owner is really friendly / doing his best and there appeared to only be one main chef in the back.I say you should definitely go, but manage your expectations / hunger before going.“
“It is rare to see one place that's tranquil, exquisite, sensational, creative at the same time (many more expensive places fail at this). During my visits here, I can trust any menu item would not disappoint. These qualities makes it a great choice for many occasions.Do try everything.“
“The food is worth parking, walking through a very uninhabited strip mall, and climbing stairs with piano music playing in the background. Aunty will hand cook your dumplings to perfection. They are all so good, I couldn't pick a favorite. So juicy, so packed with flavor, so grateful.“
“They have so many items on their menu. We do not know which one to order so we made our choice looking at the pictures. The food we ate are all so good and very tasty. The lady server was very welcoming and friendly. Ask for their chilli in oil it goes best with all the food which elevates the taste come try them out.“
“From a recommendation, our curling league ordered food to cater our end of year celebration. Sunny and Richard were so good communicating the menu to accommodate meat and veggie dishes. They did all the work to identify the volume of food for a large group. Delivery was smooth and timely. The dishes ordered were flavourful. The Szechuan Beans, 3 kinds of mushrooms, and chow mein (veggie and chicken) were delicious. The Egg Fried Rice and steamed rice were a great base for the meal and the Spring Rolls were crispy. Hot Delivery meet each request with ease. We will definitely spread the word and order again from this business. Try it!“
“i had the sliced beef with rice noodles (乾炒牛河), it’s exactly what i needed today to remind me of home! it’s hot, straight from the wok! it tasted exactly like the those from cha chaan teng in Hong Kong! for cold drink you need to pay $1 extra. i had milk tea without syrup which was fine, i’d hope for a stronger tea taste but this could be a preference thing. i’m excited to try their bakery next time!! i forgot to check if they have yuenyeung my bad will have to come back again i guess!staff are friendly and very helpful even if you don’t speak Cantonese or Mandarin.“
“We were so delighted walking out of the restaurant. Who knew!We were on our Sunday morning walk to check out a bakery nearby. Hunger stroke in the late morning and I had a craving for dim sum. I was thinking about Victoria but my husband reminded me of Heritage which we had read about recently. We were skeptical about how authentic the food would be given the location but we thought we would support a small business by giving a try and we are both very glad that we did!We ordered 3 items to share:1. A rice dish with BBQ duck, BBQ park and roast chicken2. Prawn toasts3. Wonton in chili oilWe walked in around 1130 and there was only one table seated inside. Service was extremely attentive. The server told us what the popular dishes were given it was our first visit.I love prawn toasts. The bread was crispy but soft on the inside. The paste had a nice slightly chewy texture. The heat level of the chili oil bathing the wontons was just right. All 3 meats on the rich plate were very nice. The duck pieces were juicy and tender and had a good layer of fat under the skin. The BBQ pork also had good proportions of fat and meat from belly part of the pig. The roast chicken pieces were flavourful and very tender as well.I’m glad to see that the restaurant was full by the tine we left around 1230.“
“Absolutely excellent service. Our server Michelle was very warm, friendly, and attentive. However, for the price, I wasn't amazed with the food. It was good; don't get me wrong. But I was expecting an elevated food experience for the price. Perhaps I would have gotten that if we pre-ordered the duck, but we decided to go the same day on a whim.“
“Sooooo fast. Such a huge menu. All photos easy to know what you are ordering. The staff friendly. Easy to work with. I picked #62 beef stir fry and a orange crush soda. Came to under $15 and nice area lots of tables in the food court for dining. Most stores here seems closed. But this little fast food place was open.#62... it's okay... not the best I've had, noodle slightly over cooked, not enough sodium (quite bland) and the beef heavily tenderized with powder. Not a fan of cabbage mixed in. But hot, and fast service.“
“Came here to try the clay rice pot. I’ve never had a clay rice pot before. It definitely had a nice home-cooked meal type feel but it also didn’t stand out enough to me to be worth the price it was. The bottom was crispy which I enjoyed but in the end I feel like I was underwhelmed. Probably wouldn’t venture out this far to go to somewhere like this as there are probably other similar places around in other neighborhoods.“
“Really awesome food. The place is tucked away, and the entrance is in between the other shops. The chef is very friendly and customized the dish. Really fresh, simple and awesome. Portions were probably one of the largest I have seen.Do not let the location deter you. Will highly recommend and definitely coming back the next time I am here.“
“A friend wanted to eat there for DimSumI don't if we got special treatment because he knew everyone there it seems. The portions were big and prices reasonable. Easy access for parking. A T&T was in sameplaza if you need groceries after“
“Authentic Cantonese food. The food has "Wok Hay". Really good fried rice, sweet and sour pork, house special tiger prawn, chicken corn soup or hot and sour soup. I haven't tasted anything that is not good there and I have been eating Cantonese food all my life.“
“First time trying Lanzhou beef noodle (蘭州牛肉麺). I had to google where Lanzhou was…. It is located in Northwest China and this kind of noodle is very popular there, I learned. The noodle was hand made with good texture and the broth was quite tasty. Dumplings were decent, too.“
“This place knocks it out of the park. Everything we tried was flavourful and well balanced, and perfectly cooked.Incredible dan dan noodles, amazing beef roll, and the wontons in chili oil were incredible. The wontons weren’t too soggy, the noodle were cooked perfectly, and the beef roll was crispy and well filled. Got full and still wanted to keep eating cause it was that good, and the portions are nice and bigService was amazing, super nice lady waiting the tables was friendly and personable and helpful. You can tell they care here.“
“Love it here. It's so chill in there and staff are nice. Had the one bowl and comes with a pastry, a soup and a bowl of rice. It takes some skill to pack a good bowl. Balance of meat, veggies and noodles. The sauce is where it can be overwhelming but try to use the wall poster suggestions to make it. Keep in mind the amount of scoops for the sauce really depends on how much you put in your bowl. The more ingredients you get the more sauce you'll need or it will lack flavor. Definitely takes some experience to make it good for yourself. Love this place, comfort food for me for many years. It has been quiet last few visits. I hope more people come to make sure they don't close!“
“I think the experience has to do with the food u order. I was here another time and it wasn’t as pleasant. Glad I gave it a second chance . I’m going to stick to ordering the same thing when I return. The dishes in the attached photo:Spicy beef noodlesSquid tentacles (ask for a dipping sauce)Taro slush with coconut jellyPassionfruit green teaThe male server gave really good service too. Not sure if it’s because it wasn’t too busy but he was really attentive and didn’t rush us out. We ended up tipping 20% which is considerably high for a casual bubble tea establishment.“
“It's all thanks to the death of the whole familyI don't think anyone dares to say that hungry forces have little weight or that their own character is poor.I used to eat at my house every day. Who would have thought that there would be something better in the future...Northeastern people are kind!“
“Didn't have my hopes up. I'm a highly skeptical eater at joints like this. I been around a lot of Cantonese food both good and bad. But dang, I was pleasantly surprised. The food was neither too greasy nor salty. We had a reasonably sized party so we were able to sample a wide variety of dishes from plainer veggies, soups and stronger meat dishes. Everyone always has their favourites, but each dish was done quite well. No complaints at all.Service was on par for these kind of restaurants ... so no, probably do not expect any Michelin stars here.Would recommend and I definitely wouldn't mind coming back.“
“Really great Cantonese food and the staff was very helpful walking us through some of the menu we weren’t familiar with. Definitely exceeded my expectations and was as good, if not better than some places I’ve been in NYC and San Fran. Sticky fried rice w/ chicken was the star of the evening.“
“Chinese comfort food. Great for smooth congee, delicious wontons, seafood, fried noodles. Reasonably priced. Dinner special is a good deal. A late night hang. Lunch and dinner. Weekends are very busy. Service is hit or miss. The ladies work hard but are nice.Reopened“
“The food was good. I only tried one dish since they were about to close. They have good hours given their location.Service seemed very casual.I think there should be a sign at the front stating if guests should wait to be seated or if we seat ourselves.“
“Food was delicious and the portion was pretty big! Because it was vegetarian, I didn’t expect there were this many options for dim sum. The servers were very friendly and patient with our requests and questions. Plus the price was reasonable.“
“The Boss Restaurant in Vancouver's Chinatown is a delightful find, perfectly capturing the essence of a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant. Its convenient location is just the start. The bakery section offers an array of tempting Hong Kong-style cakes and pastries that are a real treat. The menu features delicious options like savory fried noodles, decadent French toasts, and the excellent Hong Kong-style coffee is a must-try. Don't miss out on their BBQ buns, which are simply divine. It's a wonderful spot to experience authentic Hong Kong cuisine and hospitality right in the heart of Vancouver.“
“#king crabLeave you wanting to come back for more...even if it means a 30 mins drive!Service is not just welcoming, it's warm and homey. Even when your table is hidden in the corner, you'll still feel you're the spotlight for their attention - never had to look around and wave someone down for service.Quality of dishes meet those of fancier Chinese Seafood Restaurants but without the chandelier and beautiful chair coverings. “Flower & Horse in Spring Chinese Noodle Restaurant is a delightful culinary gem embracing traditional Chinese flavors and warm, inviting hospitality. Its charming ambiance and attentive service create a welcoming and comfortable dining experience. The menu features an array of authentic Chinese noodle dishes, prepared with quality ingredients and exquisite taste. From aromatic broths to hand-pulled noodles, the restaurant delivers a delightful showcase of Chinese culinary expertise. This establishment offers a truly satisfying culinary journey, appealing to both aficionados of Chinese cuisine and those seeking an authentic and fulfilling dining experience.“
“Tasty dumplings from Northern China! The proprietor is so friendly and shares her love for the dumplings of she learned to make while growing up in Harbin. Dumplings can be ordered in dishes of 12 or 18 pieces, and cooked either fried, steamed or boiled. There are a few side dish options. I chose the wood ear and cucumber salad, which was crunchy and tasty! All dumplings are also available frozen to cook at home for 15% discount.“
“For years relied on an upscale dim sum place with a location in Richmond and one on Main St., but had an unpleasant experience post pandemic. Have tried a couple of other places with mixed results and ended up here on Sunday. It did not disappoint - authentic, reasonably priced and delicious with some of the best service ever for a dim sum place. Sizeable menu, some items only after 11 am, large portions. Most the "usual" suspects on offer with a couple of fun twists per below. The individual portions of siu mai, hat gow etc were larger than most places and in addition, there was often one or two more pieces than one would normally have in an order. Xo sauce chunky but on point and reasonable cost, no charge for tea. Free parking out back if driving. One day I will figure out how to order Worcestershire in my bad mandarin and not get ketchup... Will be returning for sure“
“Delicious food and great service, nothing more you could want in a restaurant except for maybe more space and tables. Highly recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. But they'll try to fit in walk ins as much as they can. Cash only!“
“Spacious restaurant plenty of seating but would recommend making a reservation ahead of time. We had their soy sauce black cod, soy sauce marinated chicken. honey garlic ribs, as well as a vegetable dish. Food were always great and there is also underground parking around the back.“
“The name of the restaurant initially struck me as Japanese (lunch box) but this place actually serves Taiwanese! We had the deluxe pork rice, the beef noodles and the oyster pancake! Price point is a bit on the medium higher side but it was all delicious! Nice comfortable space. Give it a shot!“
“The Missus graciously accepted a dinner date and we visited the Kung Fu Noodle Restaurant which was recommended by the boys. It was very busy for a Friday night and the restaurant is not overly large. It was a short wait as the two servers worked feverish and quickly. The cuisine is more Mandarin style and we opted for the Braised Beef Brisket Noodle Soup (x2) and the salty pepper fried chicken. The soup was delicious with the freshly made noodles and tender chunks of beef brisket. The chicken was also very tasty accompanied by fried basil.Payment is by cash or debit. Parking in the area can also be challenging but readily available with a short walk.Highly recommend and look forward to trying other dishes.“
“Food was great and tasted wonderful. We ordered a bunch of food to share, Oxtail Kare Kare, binagoongang baboy and crispy Pata. Bit pricey but I guess you pay for the quality. The seating was quite uncomfortable as it had tears and tape on it but all okay apart from that.Nice business ran by good people. Great community here.“
“Extensive selection of Asian comfort food. Had the beef brisket and tendon with dumplings and noodles. It was reasonably priced around $11.25 and came with 3 hearty dumplings. However, on the meat side, there were more fatty pieces than I would have preferred. Nothing special but fair pricing all around. Service was friendly and the restaurant is cash only. Visited for a late night snack, but I imagine it's popular during lunch and dinner as well. Would give 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4.“
“The restaurant stands the test of time and I am glad it is still here. One of the best experience, service, and customer service at a Chinese restaurant. We were never rushed/pressured into anything, only helped. Food was delicious and staff was friendly and accommodating. So grateful for this!“
“Very small but clean restaurant that mostly does take out service. They treated us very nicely since we didn't know this and made accommodations for two of us to dine in. A family run business with everyone being so nice. Had seafood chow mein and beef w peppers and bb sauce. Good food, friendly service and no complaints. Nice location in Yaletown.“
“Reasonable price, big portions, I love here! When we visit first time, we didn't know that they accept only cash at that time and didn't have cash. The staffs tried to help us a lot. Finally we did e-transfer after the owner came.Recommend to go early, there are many choices.“
“We visited Baghven Uyghur Restaurant today to try for the first time and it was a great experience. We were greeted and served by the owner herself and had a pleasant conversation with her. It is a family run restaurant and everything is handmade fresh daily, the food is also Halal. The food was fantastic, we had the Lamb Dumplings, Lamb Pilaf and Big Plate Chicken. The atmosphere is very cozy inside with many pictures framing cultural heritage from Uyghur itself. We'll definitely be coming back to try more menu items.“
“Great Asian food in an intimate setting that's only open for dinner. Their omelette and fried chicken are certainly standout dishes that are worth a try. All of the dishes had great flavor. The only 'drawback' of this spot is that they are so popular that you need to reserve ahead of time to have a table over prime dining times. However, once you are seated and munching on their delicious shareable food in the dimly lit setting, you will enjoy a memorable night out.Parking: Parking near the restaurant is pretty easy. There are paid parking spots all around the restaurant and a few free parking spots nearby too.“
