“Argo Burger topped with bacon, cheese, fried onions and egg is served alongside a mound of fries. Delicious, whether eaten hot or cold. Fried chicken burger is one of the best in town. Fish and chips came with equal amounts of both, which translates into lots. Creamy Chicken chili con queso and heaping plateful of Spicy lamb on their respective beds of rice were stick-to-your-bones good. Then there's the home-baked pie and the OMG butter tart! If you're searching for comfort food with a serving of easy hospitality, this old-school Mount Pleasant diner is where you'll find it. #EastVanLoveRules“

“Had mangled eggs and it was very good. Everything was very good, but none of it was outstanding. Definitely a place for a reliably good breakfast. Waitresses were great! Atmosphere is a cool old school diner vibe. Nice to see a place that still has a proper counter to sit at. Would love to return for a milkshake to see if they really are "World's Best" like it says on the menu!“

“When I walked into this little place today, I did not expect to be met with the type of experience I had. This little hole in the wall in Vancouver was just what I needed after a great day. My fiancè and I sat at the back and were greeted promptly. Not only was I not expecting to have an authentic Greek gyro but I was not expecting to meet the owner much less have a conversation with him for our whole dining experience. It was amazing food, friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere. If I lived in Vancouver this would be a regular place I would be coming.Thank you to the friendly staff and to the owner for a fantastic experience. If you haven't eaten here, you should. The food is amazing and the company is just the cherry on top.“

“The staff at the basic are incredible! I was having a really rough day, and ordered for pickup. On the phone I asked the women for an order of sanity at the end. She laughed said “oh I’ll try” Not expecting anything but a laugh. I went to pick up the food and was pleasantly surprised to find some “sanity” in my order. It honestly made my day.“

“Pretty good place, with good food! We had a simple breakfast of eggs with bacon and toast and was cooked well. I found the food pretty light (not greasy at all, which diners can commonly do), but maybe wasn't my taste since the food was a bit bland. Wasn't bad with a little salt and pepper.Service was great, seated right away and friendly staff. Atmosphere was what you can expect of a diner. Prices were okay, maybe a little high for an egg breakfast but not unreasonable.“

“It’s hard in today’s world of shrink flation to find a meal that fills you up. The potion was generous. The food was very good quality and service was fantastic. Many options here. It is a little bit higher cost but also, I suspect this is just due to the cost of doing business in Vancouver. I felt the value was very fair. If it was closer to me, I’d eat here all the time.“

“I will start off by saying that the average Vancouver brunch enthusiast has never worked in service and just shows up to a brunch spot on a weekend at 12 or 1. while I have never worked at Fable, I have worked at another breakfast resto in Vancouver. with every table packed in the room and a line out the door people still somehow expected to be seated instantly, greeted, coddled and treated as if they were the only person in the world. I have been going to fable for five years now and while the staff is always changing as well as the menu, I have never had bad food here. Of course sometimes there is a line when every table in the room is full and it’s a busy weekend brunch and of course sometimes there’s a wait - due to again every table being full during a busy weekend brunch. upon reading the above reviews, all I see are entitled yuppie expectations from people that apparently want their shoes shined and their faces pampered while going to get a very reasonably priced and delicious breakfast during an incredibly busy service weekend.Again, the food has always been better than average// reasonably priced, and the servers are always kind, even when slammed. I have gone to fable at 4 PM on a Thursday and I have gone to fable at 1 PM on on a Saturday and what’s important is that the restaurant delivers the same enjoyable experience in its cosy atmosphere with good food.I cannot say the same about most other brunch and breakfast restaurants in the city, including the one I used to work for. While very few restaurants in the city deserve a perfect score, I am avidly adding one to Fables record (on Google) because it definitely doesn’t deserve the first world judgement of our yuppie population expecting so much from a place that does so much better than most others in this backwards city.Lastly their rosti out performs ANY and EVERY hashbrown or hash item in Van.“
