East is East is a magnificent feast for all your senses, period. I was there for a wedding reception over the weekend and I have to say that the only thing that surpasses their culinary marvels, the soothing atmosphere and exceptional warmth of the hostess was the service we received from Lana, our waitress. She navigated through all our requests with unparalleled hospitality and swiftness making us feel at home allowing us to focus on celebrating the newlyweds. How she was able to accommodate our large wedding party with such impeccable grace and care can only be called MAGIC. I never had to worry about “wondering where the waitress went” or “did she hear the order correctly”. Simply put, it was smooth and perfect. Special commendation goes out to the kitchen staff, who kept churning out dish after mouth watering dish almost as fast as we would order it. And if that wasn’t enough to qualify as one of the most satisfying dining celebratory experiences ever, there was also David. His virtuoso violin performances throughout the evening reached deep in to our hearts and were a perfect inspiration to hit the dance floor. Thank you East is East and especially Lana and David for a perfect evening honoring our newly wed couple!! Bravo

Incredible food and atmosphere as always. Our last visit several days ago involved a group of 25 with a Wedding Celebration. Absolutely amazing service and coordination from Lana. She almost singlehandedly took care of the entire entourage without a single glitch and a constant radiant and beaming smile. The musical entertainment was the incomparable David on violin. He's a maestro, par excellence. Refined, talented and amicable, as only a true experienced musician can project. The food as always, superb. Lana, you made our evening quite special and we will remember your professionalism and kindness, forever. East is East, you guys "ROCK" !!!!!!!

Great ambience and live music. We had the tasting/all you can eat dinner and they were so Delicious. It was fun to be able to try various different food items. Fun to eat. Enjoyable. Definitely would come back again. Service was excellent - all the staff were very polite and pleasant. The only thing was if they had more staff on a Saturday night dinner time would be great especially the menu involves topping up the all you can eat items. Excellent restaurant.
It's always a weird experience going to this restaurant, and I don't think I'll be going back. The staff are aloof and act bewildered when you ask for something as simple as a knife. Poorly and sadly disappointed.

East is East is a great restaurant choice if you are looking for a unique dining experience in Vancouver. The service was lovely and the atmosphere of the restaurant was quite charming. The tasting menu is a good price and I love that you can choose from so many different options (perfect for indecisive diners like me!) I have been here a few times already and will come here again!
