“The pinnacle of of good sushi. Miku Restaurant are the pioneers of Aburi Sushi in Canada a technique that uses a light flame sear on each piece done with Japanese Charcoal, it is delicious. They suggest not to use Soya Sauce which we didn't, the reason behind that is you can taste all the subtle flavors of each piece otherwise you would loose those from the powerful flavor from the Soya Sauce. We ordered alot, and everything was wonderful.“
“Came here recently to celebrate our anniversary. Cozy restaurant with limited seating. Reservation highly recommended. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented using fresh, good quality ingredients. Service was very attentive. Our empty plates were taken right away and our tea cups were filled constantly. Fair price and good food selection. Had an enjoyable evening.“
“Very good atmosphere and whole experience was like a food show! I hesitated a bit before when I saw the price ($300+ pp) but as it got Michelin certified I still want to give it a try. I love how the girls wearing Japanese clothes and great you with very comforting manner. The decoration was also making feel like entered a Japanese theater. All the chef work fast and they accommodated my allergy. Definitely recommend for your special night, they played piano for a birthday girl, I believe it would be a memorable experience.“
“Very small hidden gem in Vancouver. A new personal favourite with high quality sushi at low prices. Service has always been exceptionally friendly and attentive.Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options and some vegan ones too.Wheelchair accessibility: Seating is extremely limited with two sets of bar seating and about 8 seats total. A wheelchair would likely struggle to navigate the restaurant/kitchen and table height would likely be too tall.“
“We've been here twice now. Beautiful interior space, delicious food, and attentive service. Our absolute favorite dishes are the carne cruda and the off menu omelette with king crab. Tajarin pasta is very unique and worth trying. We also had their daily special buckwheat tagliatelle which was quite delicious.A wonderful spot for date night! Be sure to make a reso in advance.“
“One of my usual Japanese restaurants if I'm in the neighborhood. Been here multiple times but first time posting ?Fresh fish , visuals are great. I sat at the sushi bar, you can see how the sushi chef put so much care and love into the food. I can taste it!Vegetarian options: There are limited vegetarian options for Maki rolls, udon, teriyaki...Parking: Mainly paid street parking around the block. If you're lucky , you might be able to find free street parking in the residential area.“
“Amazing quality, presentation of food, prepared by the best talent in the city. Outstanding service with elegant drinks and cocktails complimentary to the food dish selection on the menu. staff is very friendly. hands down one of the best places in Vancouver to spend a evening.“
“February 10th, 2023 was such a tiring day. I had classes at UCW till late and, as a good hungry taurine, I had to eat something delicious to make me feel well. Also, it had to be mandatorily vegan, so I would also keep my mind in peace. While searching for a restaurant with vegan options, I saw this sushi one, called Cofu Pressed Sushi. It was not far from UCW Vancouver House (around 15 minutes by bus) and it would be open till 9:00 PM. So, I decided to go there. I called my husband and we met there. The restaurant is not that large, and they have just a few tables, just the way I like it. But the best, in my opinion, was that it was so clean, fragrant, and decorated with such a good neatness that I felt a cozy mood as soon as I entered. Nevertheless, we were very well welcomed by the server, and he explained the whole menu to us. Besides they former factors I mentioned, the latter is the most important in my opinion. The way I am hosted and treated in any commercial place makes the whole difference in my final perception. I took the Aichi combo from the Omakase Menu. This combo had plant-based tuna (made of jackfruit), tofu, avocado, fresh mix veggie, and a sauce made of vivid beets and spicy mayo. As for my husband, he chose the Ofu combo. It had plant-based salmon (made of carrot and konjac), pumpkin, eggplant, red & yellow bell pepper, and a sauce made of cilantro, cucumber, and wild carrot. As the picture shows, the dish presentations were so beautiful, showing the food as something delicate, that the sushi master really took care of it. Last, but not least, the taste. It was so delicious! Every bite mattered to me. I was hungry, but I took every sushi slowly to feel all flavours and had the best sensory experience. For some the amount of food may look little, but I guarantee it made me fill satisfied. As a whole, I felt really delighted and I wish to return there soon to order the other options.“
“The creamy truffle udon with seafood was soooo good???. We got a side of rice after to soak up all of the extra truffle sauce and it was killer. They also had some pretty creative specialty sushi rolls that you won’t find at any other restaurant and they were yummy too!“
“I had a really pleasant experience ordering through Uber eats. It was fast. I ordered the Red Dynamite Roll because it was highly rated. Really fresh and nice with a bit of a kick to it. Really appreciated the serving size as well. Also ordered Kaarage and the chicken was crispy and spiced well.“
“This place never disappoints! Probably one of the best places to get fluffy omurice in Vancouver! Pork katsu was good too. I really like their make-your-own lunch bentos, reasonably priced and portioned (my favourite bento item gotta be their salmon age!). The staffs are also very friendly, lighting is a bit dark in my opinion but overall a nice cozy place.“
“I make a point of visiting every time I come to Vancouver and the quality and service have been consistent year over year. Everything here is top notch, and the prices are very reasonable compared to Toronto restaurants of the same quality level.“
“Awesome local spot! Rare to have a place that serves both Korean and Japanese food and both are good! They are very friendly and make you feel at home.I just had the hamachi shabushabu tonight - lots of fresh hamachi with veggies cooked at the table in soup, then they bring rice and egg afterwards to make a rice soup to end the meal with. Delicious!!!“
“I've had this place on my list to try for the longest time but there was always a lineup outside. Finally had the opportunity and went just after they opened with a group of 4. It was packed and we sat at the counter which was totally fine. Service is very good and they are quick. You're really coming here for the fresh sushi. Prices are quite reasonable and the fish was great and of course very fresh. I'd recommend it. Because the service is so quick they also do expect to turn around the tables quickly. The food was so good I forgot to take a photo. But I did get one of the cup ?.“
“I’ve eaten here enough to say there’s no bad item on the menu!last call is at 8pm—tried the negitoro, spicy salmon, chopped scallop rolls and toro & salmon nigiri. all very fresh and the toro was the best thing I tried that night. service is super nice! would definitely go again and recommendwait can get a bit long, but totally worth it“
“Excellent flavors with staff that are friendly and very attentive. Unfortunately, unless you have a reservation it's very challenging to get a table regardless of the day of the week, so I wouldn't recommend to even bother trying, which ultimately is why I didn't give 5 stars as that personally turns me off.I enjoyed the Tenderloin Sizzling Steak, The Black Pork Rib, Chicken Karaage, and Cucumber O chan. I wouldn't recommend the Corn Kakiage, it's okay but didn't stand out like the others.“
“Recommended here by one of our Nurse friends, so we dropped by for an early lunch today w/ my 2 coworkers. Sooo yummy! First impression? Delish!!! huge servings & the use of fluffy brown rice was the determining factor of the meal NOT being gastro-heavy! Very nice presentation! Good size servings! Will definitely return on another lunchbreak! yummmmmy!“
“This place is definitely a gem. Have been meaning to try this place for a while, but OMG! It's not a fancy place, but food is outstanding. Prices were very reasonable. Service was great ?! Entire Japanese staff, so it's quite authentic. Parking was easy, there was parking right up front. I would definitely go back to try other stuff.“
“Exceptional sushi experience! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a serene ambiance. The menu offered a wide variety of fresh, expertly crafted sushi rolls and sashimi, each bite bursting with flavor. The presentation was impeccable, elevating the dining experience to another level. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive, ensuring every need was met promptly. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a novice, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable culinary journey that deserves every bit of its five-star rating. Can't wait to return for another delightful meal!"“
“Sushi Howe is small but the people are extremely friendly and the sushi is exceptional. I live close and they always greet me by name and make the sushi quickly. Try the Salmon Combo C and Spicy Crunch Roll. Also the deep fried Burning Sun roll is another favourite.“
“Saku never disappoints, my husband and I have eaten here numerous times and the food is amazing. The portions are great and we always appreciate that the rice, soup and salad are refillable. Try the cheese cutlet, yum! And don't forget to join the wait-list. There's usually always a line and joining online beats waiting outside for a long time.Vegetarian options: They do offer a vegetarian option, it reminded me of vegetable tempura but with katsu breading. Keep in mind the cheese katsu has a thin piece of pork in it, I'm not sure if they have a version without meat.Parking: There have been times that I've had to drive around a little while to find a spot. There is a parking lot that has public parking in the side alley near kosoo.“
“Best and the freshest sushi I've ever eaten and I make sure I tell it to the chef everytime I visit. The prices are just a cherry on top. Find me a sashimi salad like this for $13.50 in all of Vancouver with current inflation. Before the current wave of inflation it was $12.50.“
“Wonderful sushi. They had Uni Nigiri at a very reasonable price. Saba Nigiri had Yuzu leaves on the top (not just green onion pieces) - that was a nice touch. Also real crab meat California Roll was very tasty. In addition, each piece of Nigiri sushi had a bit of wasabi underneath. That was excellent. I love this sushi spot. I will be returning.“
“not terribly busy and reasonably tasty food, lots of options for everyone. aburi, sashimi are both pretty decent if nothing special. tons of rolls which are generously sized. anyone who thinks this place is too expensive is simply wrong - find me 3 other places in metro vancouver with a similar priced menu that isn't bottom of the barrel quality.“
“The bento box was really delicious and the quality of the fish is very good, definitely worth the price. The packaging and presentation of the delivery boxes are particularly great and appear to be of high quality. For me it's one of the best to order, unfortunately I haven't been there yet, but I'll do so soon. ?“
“One of the best restaurants in Vancouver! The servers were always friendly and smiling. They did an excellent job in balancing orders among all the tables. I never felt like my table was forgotten and I did not have to wait too long for my food to arrive. They have many delicious dishes, but I enjoyed the regular fried chicken the most! They were very crispy on the outside and very juicy on the inside, not to mention they were perfectly seasoned. Given the large number and size of the chicken, I definitely got my money's worth!“
“Love the little plates and 3 for $15 appetizer choice! You get to taste a lil bit of everything. It’s always quite packed here and hard to get a spot, but the food is really great! Star of the show was the daifuku strawberry dessert with green tea ice cream, yum!“
“This was an amazing experience and meal. I’ve been to some of the best Omakase in NYC and SF but this was the best. Each course was unique and extremely thoughtful. Chef Jin and his wife were also a pleasure to talk to and genuinely great people.“
“Great food! One of the best sushi places in the neighbourhood and we have tried many of them. I gather they’re under new management and after being a bit disappointed eating here a year ago it has definitely levelled up since. We will be back 100%!“
“This was my first time having omakase. It was a great experience. The sushi and all the other dishes tasted excellent, and the menu had a lot of variety to it. The place has a very cozy feel to it, with only a few tables. We came at the last reservation time slot before close, and we basically had the place to ourselves. The server was very nice and on top of everything the whole time.“
“This is a restaurant that I only want to know. I visited many times because it was close to my home, and I was satisfied with every visit. Salmon oshi and pork cutlet are the best. It was also great to have a late night sake or beer with my friend. You should definitely visit here!“
“Delicious Sushi’sThank you Chris for the chefs special menu and your recommendations. We got the bestest ones and enjoyed them till the last bite.Fresh and extremely flavourful. And very reasonably priced. Good portions & great deals! One of the bestest sushi’s I’ve had in Vancouver.Highly recommended to try this place for a wholesome experience!“
“My partner brought me here for my bday surprise and it was a beautiful surprise! We had the omakaze experience with the owner and chef Tom and I believe his wife. He was very sweet and so incredibly passionate about his creations. Every sauce, dish, is all his own creation and hand made from scratch. I also appreciate an introduction to every dish. Every dish was incredible and service was top notch. Highly recommend coming here for an omakaze experience with Tom.“
“We indulged in a variety of dishes at Miso Taco, including the Kimchi Nacho Fries with Chicken Karaage, Tuna Tataco, and Brilla Dilla with Ramen. The portions were generous and satisfying, offering great value for the price. We ended up taking some leftovers home as we couldn't finish it all in one sitting. The fusion of Japanese and Mexican flavors was executed perfectly. Travis, our server, was attentive and friendly. The restaurant tends to get quite busy, especially during happy hour, so I'd recommend making a reservation. We will definitely be returning for more!“
“Recommended here by one of our Nurse friends, so we dropped by for an early lunch today w/ my 2 coworkers. Sooo yummy! First impression? Delish!!! huge servings & the use of fluffy brown rice was the determining factor of the meal NOT being gastro-heavy! Very nice presentation! Good size servings! Will definitely return on another lunchbreak! yummmmmy!“
“The most delicious japanese curry! The curry is imported from Japan and made in-house with their own special touch. ( unavailable for purchase in the canadian market )The staff took their time to explain how the curry was made and the cashier was very polite and did her very best to give me details about the food and the process. It made the food taste even better and I really appreciated it. Thank you to the owner and the female cashier for the good food and the warmth! Excellent job.“
“Happened to drive past this place while driving on Hastings, and was drawn in by the wooden sign and logo, so me and my partner made a note to try it out some time and it did not disappoint!Inside it has very warm vibes, kind of bringing me back to some of the places I have visited in Japan, the menu is small and concise, easy to decide on what to get.I ordered the pork bowl which had one of the most tender pork I have ever eaten, and my partner ordered the vegan bowl which was very sizable and well seasoned.I would highly recommend for an afternoon snack as they have coffees and teas with cute sweets or a light lunch with their tasty bowls.“
“Great food and great service. They give generous portions of noodles and meat and the broth is really flavourful. I recommend getting the Tat Chan combo special. I’ve already gone here twice in a span of two weeks. That’s how good it is.“
“Hands down, best izakaya place in Vancouver. Love the cozy atmosphere! It absolutely reminds me of the Izakayas in Roppongi Hills and the food has all the authentic ingredients used in Japan with consistent quality and taste. The only thing is the cost has gone up after COVID but it’s understandable because of the negative setbacks it had on businesses! I would recommend coming here for a date night or party; overall, a great and fun place to go to.“
“Excellent dedicated gluten-free Japanese food and all other common allergens are marked on the menu. Very delicious! Highly recommend the chicken karaage. Must have reservations!Dietary restrictions: Allergens are clearly marked on the menu“
“A sushi place you could easily miss located between Wicks Cafe and Cafe De L'Orangerie in a complex that has pretty tight and few parking spots. The interior is clean and has several tables for indoor dining. When we came at lunch on the weekend, the place filled up quickly. The have an extensive menu. At first, you think they only do Poke bowls, but they actually do everything a Japanese restaurant normally serves. We settled for ordering their bento sets. Taste wise I liked the Aburi Chasiu and the sushi rice was nicely flavored. Their rice bowls were good tasting, large size and filling. On the other hand, the sashimi that came with the bento boxes were thick cut like you would get at a value sushi places; and the tuna sashimi was chewy/stringy. I wouldn't get sashimi here if it was on its own. The kids liked the California Roll, pretty standard. And I liked the Chopped Scallop Roll, pretty standard. These were included in our bentos. 10% off if you pay by Cash.“
“We have ordered from here several times and have always been happy with the quality and service. We placed a large order for a work event tonight and were once again thoroughly impressed. The fish is fresh, prices are reasonable and the food is reliably good. We will be back again and again!“
“Portions are large. Best hae dup bap (Korean style sashimi salad) under $20 I’ve ever had. Fresh greens and lots of fish, including octopus and roe.The spicy combo has way too much mayonnaise inside and on TOP (in hot sauce) for my taste but some may like it like that. Otherwise, highly “
“It was my first visit to a japanese restaurant in cananda, and it was an amazing experience. Despite having visited numerous restaurants in vancouver , none compared to the quality i experienecd here. We ordered kaiseki bento, oyster motoyaki, salmon steak and they were so fabulous ? every ingredient was remarkably fresh ✨?I am eager to return , perhaps with new friends , and highly recommend this restaurant to others. And the view from here is very beautiful ? the service from every staff member was exceptionally kind, making it the best dining experience i’ve ever had ? this place has truly won me over ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️“
“Alright Mori here! This place is pretty good for a quick bite to eat. I was here just a few days ago with a friend. At first it was quite busy and didn’t look like there was a place to sit but it was worth the 5 minute wait. The staff here are incredibly kind and helpful to you when you walk in. They offer a good variety of food and alcohol too if you feel like it. I definitely recommend the lunch sets but let me warn you it really does fill you up!!“
“This is my first time coming here. I ordered their tropical roll, pumpkin tempura and some nigiris. They are all delicious. Definitely recommend the tropical roll. Very unique and refreshing with the mango, coconut flakes, and roes on top of tempura roll.Waitress is very attentive and spot on and the atmosphere is chill :)“
“Love this place, such a gem in a corporate-chain area of town. The food is incredibly consistent, high quality, great price. The service is super warm and friendly. The lady who runs this place is worth her weight in gold. I’ve been coming here for years and glad it survived the pandemic - it’s a great as ever. Best breakfast in the city as far as I’m concerned, unless you want to pay $25 for eggs at yolks or some other chain.Kid-friendliness: Great for kids!Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheel chair friendly. Lots of space between tables. Too much in fact.“
“Great sushi! Have enjoyed them a few times now, order and pick up as their location is very small and not a relaxing atmosphere when it's busy. But highly recommended for takeout, great quality and value. I typically order both rolls and sashimi. Try the Pokemon rolls, they're pretty epic.“
“Recently stopped by for a quick meal and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the chicken teriyaki dish was. The gyozas and dipping sauce were a nice add on. Definitely recommend!Vegetarian options: Fresh tofu vegetarian teriyaki rice or noodle dish“
“This little spot is a hive of activity. Second Valentine's Day for my partner at this cracker of a restaurant. They have the sweetest staff, vibrant atmosphere. Serving the freshest, yummiest food. I have an iodine allergy (shell fish) the staff were excellent in keeping that in mind when ordering. Definitely worth repeat visits.Dietary restrictions: Allergies“
