We've passed this place umpteenth time and never really paid attention to it until one evening after 9:00 pm when we were driving back from the valley to Vancouver. Unlike Kingsway Avenue, the number of restaurants along Broadway is actually quite limited. We became more and more hungry until finally, we saw Sushi California. The sushi at this place is top-notch, meticulously crafted, and bursting with freshness. It's arguably the best I've had in Vancouver lately. I was disappointed that the sushi rolls had a lot of rice and little amounts of fish which made it bland in taste. I would especially encourage the chefs to add more fish to the “Box Sushi Roll” which was honestly more a “Box of Rice.” The only rolls that had more flavour were Caterpillar Roll and Crunch Calamari Roll - however still left for more to be desired.Front staff were friendly and professional. Restaurant appeared clean.
