“Staff were all very hospitable and provided friendly service with a warm smile. We thoroughly enjoyed the food the as well. The squid in the buryani rice stood out for me as it was really tender and delicious. We will definitely dine at fishhook again during our next visit to Victoria.“
“We had a fantastic dinner tonight. First time for us but recommended many times by friends. Food was great at a reasonably priced. I am celiac and there were many gf options and I felt quite “safe”. Our server, Raj, was pleasant, professional, and ever so friendly.* update for Celiacs…. I did suffer a celiac reaction post this initial review. Looking further on the web it seems they do not have a dedicated fryer (would love confirmation). My guess is that the pakora I had was cross-contaminated with Samosas, etc.“
“Absolutely fantastic experience!I visited the restaurant yesterday and tried their Chicken Tikka Masala, Chili Potato, and Eggplant Bhartha, along with Lacha Parantha and Garlic Naan. The food was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients.. A truly unforgettable dining experience that I can't wait to repeat.“
“The best Indian food in Victoria! This place has been our favourite for years now. The tandoori prawns are my personal favourite but everything is always so flavourful and delicious. The owners and staff are lovely and professional and we’re so lucky to have this gem in the city.“
“When you go to a restaurant in a food court, you expect fast food quality. That didn’t happen here. The food was by far the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten. We had a vegetarian, a vegan, and two meat eaters along, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Next time I come to Victoria, I am definitely eating here again!“
“My goodness. A Victoria gem. Service was prompt and pleasant but not intrusive and the food to die for. I ordered the Fish Tika and ate. Every. Bite. Highly recommended. Outside decor is simple, press on, I promise the food is so worth it.“
“My family and I were in Victoria for spring break and came across this restaurant. Maybe I've never had good Indian food, but this is the best Indian food I have ever tasted. There was almost a full page of vegetarian dishes for me and my wife, and there were also some basic chicken dishes for our kids. We tried five different things off the menu and all of them were delicious. The owner (I think) remembered my kid from the night before and made a point to talk to us. My kids were begging me to leave a good review, we highly recommend eating here“
“I've been to Varsha twice now. Food is excellent and the service has been great. We had the Chefs special for 2 easily would have fed 3. 2nd Visit was for their happy hour. Nice selection of foods and a good cold beer. Happy hour at an Indian restaurant is genius! Very reasonable happy hour prices. Can't wait to go back. Next visit will be for burger night! Well specifically the lamb burger. The 4 stars for atmosphere is because it's cool in the restaurant in the winter. Varsha had space heaters and they help but if this would be an issue for you go to Varsha when the weather warms up.Parking: Down town Victoria you are walking and paying. Pay more park close and walk...pay less and walk further. Park for free and have a nice longer walk. Worth the walk anyway.“
“There is a reason they have been around this long and have so many regular customers. I have not had a single thing on the menu that wasn’t delicious and there is nowhere in town you will find food this filling and with this level of quality and flavour for such a fair price. The staff is very personable and kind. I have no complaints about this place.“
“We hired Fresh Tandoori Indian Restaurant Royal Oak to do our event catering. They went above and beyond our expectations and the food was delicious the presentation of food was done very beautifully. I would highly recommend them for your next event big or small.“
“I will be dreaming about this restaurant. Was in Victoria on vacation and was recommend this spot and wow.The amount of food for the price was insane (great) and the food tasted so so good. Wish I lived nearby to get to enjoy this regularly.“
“We had a few friends over for New Years and ordered several dishes from Deep India. The food was a big hit with all of our guests. The only complaint was that we didn't order enough to have lunch the next day. Will definitely use them again!“
“Southern Flavours is the absolute best Indian food in Victoria, hands down. The depth of flavours and quality of their food is amazing - highly recommend trying them. Anoop is the cook and he is the best, always friendly and always smiling!!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options!!Dietary restrictions: There are lots of vegetarian options and if you are gluten free, that is not a problem either, always able to accommodate my celiac requests!Parking: Tons of free parking“

“My brother in law wanted Indian food for his birthday dinner so we chose Sizzling Tandoor. I was never really a fan of Indian as I am pretty picky but went along as it was his day. We called and the gentleman on the phone was so polite and extremely helpful! everything we ordered was delicious! The pakora was delish, butter chicken of course was on point, and the daal was amazing! The tandoor chicken was the show stopper though. We ordered everything mild as we(including me) have a few picky palettes. will definitely order again!“
“Food was excellent the night before but next visit 5 staff stood around at the entrance far more concerned with their cell phone and gossip. Apparently more interested with online customers than one client walking in. Place was empty but tables not wiped, no smiles and no service. I walked out again and went somewhere else.Vegetarian options: It's Indian cuisine based largely on vegetarianParking: In a mall with lots of parkingWheelchair accessibility: Whole restaurant including the washrooms are street level“
“Aside from being very tasty, you can really customize the spice level, which is nice when you're feeding a group with varying tastes. In our experience the pickup and dine in service is quite fast so it's good for lunch on a busy day.“

“We placed a large order for pick up, and it was ready promptly, nice and hot: 10 dishes plus complimentary rice and naan. They kindly labelled the containers which was helpful with so many different dishes. We often order from Mantra, and the food is consistently delicious and perfectly spiced between mild and medium. Our absolute favourite dishes are the navratan korma, aloo gobi and mutter paneer. We tried some new dishes this time, and they were all fabulous. Everyone had seconds! We do not hesitate to recommend Mantra to all our friends.“
“Friendly service, interesting menu, tasty food. I do have a few suggestions: the restaurant menu would benefit from having clear descriptions to help guide people on the dishes. I told them I was vegan, but I'm pretty sure the dish they recommended (Soya Malai Chop) came with a mint raita, which I suspect was not vegan since raita is typically made with yogurt. I also probably wouldn't have ordered it if there had been a description that made it clear that there were no vegetables in the dish, just the marinated soya chunks. My husband ordered the veggie biryani, and the description didn't mention that it contains paneer, which of course is not vegan. I also wonder whether they use ghee in their cooking, which would make all of their dishes non-vegan unless they substitute the ghee when you ask for vegan food. I guess veganism is not common in Pakistan, but if they want to encourage a diverse clientele, it would definitely help if they were really clear on what is and isn't vegan. But very reasonable prices and good service, so overall a good experience. I'm sure that non-vegans will enjoy it greatly.“
