This is probably my favorite restaurant in Whistler. It has great ambience, very knowledgeable and friendly staff, and an ever evolving menu that surprises and delights no matter how often you visit. They have an excellent and thoughtfully curated wine list and their botanical mixed drinks always bring joy. I often find myself daydreaming about their charcuterie board (I wish I could have that delivered nightly). The proteins on the menu are generally static, but the preparation and accompanying dishes change depending on what is in season and what new and imaginative ingredients the chef is able to source. Finally, don’t forget to order beers for the kitchen. They work hard to deliver an amazing experience for you and a couple of beers is small reward for their efforts!
Food is delicious but they touch your dishes with bare

Service staff were very knowledgeable and quick. The food was AMAZING! We had appetizers, mains and dessert and everything we tried was incredible. The atmosphere was cozy and staff was very personable. This was by far our favorite dinner in whistler.

Also the top resto among all the "fancy" ones here in Whistler.Creamy foie gras spread, moist and tender salmon with crispy skins (another great fish dish production aside from Wild Blue), and juicy beef cheeks. If you had to choose among the fine dining restos here in Whistler, I'd say book here :)
Horrible food and pathetic, egotistical staff. None of the food was even edible. My dog wouldn't touch it either. The self-absorbed staff with the lousy attitude was the cherry on top. Stay away from this useless, disgraceful establishment.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience! We had the chef's menu with the wine pairing and every dish and paired wine was superb. Each dish was better than the last. The venison tartare was unique and delicious. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and very pleasant. The atmosphere was very pleasant for an intimate date night but could also be great for larger groups or families.

We went in for desert and it did not disappoint! We LOVED the affogato, very creative and delish. The other two deserts were very creative and also great. We'd love to go back for mains next time!
The add-ons were perfect for each meal. Would recommend the truffles. They add such a nice flavor. Surprising their salad was one of the best I have ever had. Thank you from my wife and I for the excellent service and

It pains me to write this review, as we've gone to Alta bistro many times in the past, and I always recommend it to friends that are going to Whistler. I'm hoping it's that we just didn't try the right things on the menu this time. The prices have gone up substantially, and it's now more expensive than many of the restaurants nearby of a similar (or better) caliber. My husband tried one of their cocktail specials and it was truly awful. The server didn't ask if he liked it, so we didn't say anything. The mushroom risotto was watery and flavourless, and at a price point of $40 we were shocked they let it leave the kitchen. We won't be going back for awhile, but I'll eventually try it again and I'm hoping I'll have a new kind of review to write. For now, I won't be recommending them anymore sadly.

We stopped in a couple of nights ago for dinner, and it was a pleasant experience. We walked in during our reservation time and were immediately sat. Our waitress checked in on us quickly and took our drink orders. The drinks were pretty good! We ordered the snack pickles, the venison tartare, and the carrots to start. The pickled items were good and were a perfect pre-dinner snack. I love that all the veggies are pickled in-house. The carrots were also delicious and came with a hemp seed crust, cashew curd, purple shiso, and a blood orange glaze. What could have been better was the venison tartare. The chicken liver mousse it came with was very watery and overly sweet. It completely ruined the dish. The venison was in the bottom, but it was just too much to work for when it tasted more like a dessert. Anyway, we ordered the duck and the beef check for our entrees. Both of these were absolutely delicious. The beef cheek was cooked perfectly, and the duck was full of flavor. To end, we had the milk chocolate mousse, which they nicely subbed for the ice cream for vanilla since I don't do coffee. It was delicate and decadent! Overall, I would return here!
