Uncover Alameda's Mexican dining scene with Restaurantji's insights.
“Taqueria Mi Burrito is on point!Everything is the same!Only two things have changed! The name of the restaurant and they take debt and credit cards. The food is still delicious! And the staff is still fast and friendly! One of the best mexican food spots here on the Island!“
“Good tacos and burritos at this taqueria on Park Street. The burritos are huge and they also have full entree size meals. The tacos are my go-to thing to order. The carnitas, carne asada and Al pastor are the top choices. Service is pretty fast even at peak times when it gets crowded. Parking is hit or miss on Park but there’s enough to get a spot most any time.“
“We’ve been getting take out here frequently since the pandemic started. The absolute best service and food in alameda. Always friendly, delicious food and hassle free take out.HONESTY!!! I left my wallet on the counter one time, I was unemployed for a while. When I went back to see if I left it there, they told me I left it on the counter. Somebody could have easily taken the cash but instead it was all returned.I can’t say enough good things about this place and this review is long overdue.“
“Pencil Azul in Harbor Bay now has beautiful outdoor seating overlooking the water. One of our sodas was served in a cracked glass, but was quickly replaced when brought to server's attention. The super famoso burrito was enough for two to share.“
“I like to come here because of the food and drinks. Happy hour starts at 2:00 and they have a nice menu. The peach and mango Margaritas are delicious. The enchiladas on the happy hour menu only come with the green sauce. They do not accept the gift cards from American express, MasterCard and a few others. Cash and credit cards only. They have hand sanitizers at every table. They have inside and outside seating as well“
“We placed a big order here and everything was very good. I went with three of the big tacos (your choice of meat, cilantro, onions, salsa, and cheese, $4.50 each) and tried the salsa verde, grilled chicken, and al pastor. My husband got the California burrito ($13.50), my uncle got the breakfast burrito ($11.50) and had them hold the cheese and put the pico de gallo on the side, and my aunt got the Viva Mexico burrito with no rice ($13.49). I was surprised by how much meat was on each taco. It was really two tacos worth of meat per taco. The salsa verde was my favorite by far. Just such good flavor, a little spice, and the meat was fall-apart tender. The other two meats were a little on the dry side, the grilled chicken more so than the al pastor, but at least had good flavor and the dryness was mitigated somewhat by the salsa. Next time, I'd get all of them salsa verde. The flour tortillas that are used for burritos here are a little on the thick side, almost like a gordita but not quite that thick, and the tortillas are lightly grilled. My husband's California burrito was very good and I loved the addition of the fries to make it California style. I didn't try my aunt and uncle's burritos, but they were both really happy with them, especially the breakfast burrito. We ordered in person and took the food to go and everything was ready within ten minutes. There was no one else in the restaurant on a Friday night so the food was done fast and the lady behind the counter was really nice. I've seen a couple of reviews complaining about the lack of cleanliness in the restaurant; while we didn't eat on-site and I obviously don't know what the state of the kitchen is, I can at least say that the restaurant was actually very clean while we sat and waited for the food. The counter was, too. Not sure if this place had an issue with cleanliness in the past and they literally cleaned up their act, but it at least wasn't an issue for us. No bugs in our food, nothing made anyone sick. I will definitely be back to get a chile verde burrito and a California burrito for myself.“
“We stopped in here for dinner when I was craving some nachos, the waitress was very attentive and let us pick our booth. I ordered the nachos and my husband ordered the wet burrito. The burrito was huge and he said it was very good. I really liked the nachos but would have preferred queso to the shredded cheese on top. Overall it was a solid spot and I would definitely come back!“
“Fresh and tasty chicken apple sausage breakfast burrito was enjoyable. The burrito was full of flavor with nothing overpowering the other ingredients. I will be back. I think this place doesn't have more reviews on business because they moved locations. Unfortunately when I search on my iPhone or Google they don't come up as a burrito place in the top results.“
“Absolutely outstanding across the board. Staff are amazingly family and helpful. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is their cheese quesadilla with their guacamole because they block them only is the best I've ever had“
“Such an amazing place. My family and I used to eat here at least once a week when we lived in Alameda from 2011 to 2015. I recently returned for work and even after eight years, Victor immediately recognized me and remembered my family too. Great people, and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is casual and laid back, very relaxed.“
“We decided to start eating at the different Taco Tuesday places in Alameda and this is the best one so far. The place doesn't have the best building, furniture but the food makes up for it. The service was excellent and efficient. If you want good food at good prices this is the place. We have tried 3 and have 5-10 more to try. The other 2 were okay but not a lot of flavor.“
