“Nestled into the small ocean front town of Avila Beach, California you will find a little piece of heaven on earth.....known to me as Reimer's. You can browse the mermaid and ocean themed gifts throughout the store while you wait in a short line for the highest quality ice cream I have ever tasted in my entire life....and let me tell you I have experienced some amazing ice cream from across the world. The friendly ice cream server answered my questions with a smile and in-depth knowledge about the various flavors and ingredients...I was pleasantly surprised and her recommendations were on point. I highly recommend stopping in and having multiple flavors of the ice cream, doing some shopping and make a selection of some incredible chocolates. World Class!”

“Local's Taproom is an Avila staple after just 2 months of business. Owned and operated by the previous taproom's bartenders, it fully embodies the 70's-80's surf vibe that is so needed in a small, safe environment trying to create a safe space for everyone to enjoy local brews and wines. Creating an atmosphere that is so inviting can only cause such an establishment to skyrocket to one of the hottest spots in such a small town. Although there are plenty of comfortable, vibey spots in town, Locals Taproom is a fun local atmosphere that can be enjoyed by all. Although they don't offer food, they are welcoming to the idea of inviting outside food to accompany their many local draughts (or drafts). As a pair of local owners, Local's Taproom is a must if you are visiting Pismo Beach, San Luis Obispo, or Arroyo Grande. In the summer, there is a *free* trolley that transports through Pismo, all the way through Shell Beach, as well as Avila and is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a beverage (or three) without having to Uber or Lyft between you and your permanent or temporary summer home. 5 out of 5 in all respects that are relevant to this quaint and inviting establishment.”

“The Shuck Shack is just that, a place where you can shuck, or have shucked, your oysters, but it's not a shack at all. It's a sunny, airy and modern space in the heart of Avila Beach where we enjoyed a sublime and leisurely lunch.Come for the wine, stay for the menu. We were on an oyster hunt and arrived just as it opened, and Evan welcomed us in. The Shuck Shack is a dining outgrowth of the Sinor-LaVallee Winery.What followed was an amazing dining experience. We ordered a dozen oysters of course, and to save a bit of $, but more to learn how, I shucked our dozen successfully (well except for a few stubborn ones I let Evan wrangle) and we enjoyed them with a savory house-made mignonette.With that we got the charcuterie board, which along with a splurge of caviar, was heavenly. I enjoyed a sparkling pinot noir and we grazed away on amazing cheeses, meats, fruits, nuts all fresh and leaving us happy and full. Evan explained every dish, and was delightful company as we dined.So the Shack has a "limited" menu: oysters, a charcuterie board, and a special bread. And the caviar, served with blini, crackers, creme fraiche, potato chips (which is A Thing with caviar, apparently) and minced chives.We had everything but the bread and if that's a good as the rest of their offerings, well, we'll be back to find out I hope.(As for parking, there's a pay public lot just a block or so away with plenty of spaces.)”

“We met friends for outdoor dining and cocktails in the evening in Adirondack chairs around propane fire pits. They had live music that night. I enjoyed a salad and my husband had their house-made clam chowder in a bread bowl. Both meals were generous portions and very good. They have a full bar with a variety of choices and a generous pour. The outdoor seating area is pretty and overlooks a neighboring bay and bridge. I would definitely return again when visiting the area. I would definitely recommend a visit her for a meal and/or cocktails.”

“As a single solo traveler finding places that are both safe and fun can be a challenge. The whole crew at Mr. Rick’s and the custom house make it easy to let loose and have a good time. Most recently I was served by Angie, keith, and Austin and had the best weekend visiting my favorite place. The live music and fun atmosphere make this place more memorable. Through and through a great experience highly recommend.”

“I absolutely love this place. Everytime we go to Kravabowl it's always a treat. Alyssa is always so sweet and helpful. Yesterday she was there from open to close all by herself and it was a BUSY day. It's always clean and well stocked with all flavors and toppings. The acai is really popular, it's definitely our favorite. Yesterday, I tried the coconut and it was amazing. My sister got the mango and she said that was amazing too! My typical order is acai base, hemp granola, almond butter, goji berries, coconut, blueberries, strawberries, and bananas in a 16oz. The bowls are priced reasonably and it's a healthy option while other restaurants are serving fried food, pizza, and beer. Thank you, Alyssa & Kravabowl!”

“Amazingly surprised at how good this joint is. Pretty much a grab n go, so we were not expecting much, but we were hungry.We split a "kitchen sink" pizza, and WOW, it was delicious! The meats were fresh and nicely seasoned, and red sauce tasted freshly made. The crust was light and made with cornmeal which was very tasty.Looking forward to other menu options next trip!”

“On a long journey north to Paso Robles, a stretch of the legs, some fresh ocean air and a delicious coffee and ice cream refreshment is just the ticket. Hula Hut has a great selection of ice cream flavors and is perfectly located right on Front Street to take your treats and go sit and enjoy. Parking We parked in the Avila Public Parking lot on First Street. Street parking is available but an open spot is always hard to find and this lot always has spaces. Its not free, or cheap, but worth it to skip the hassle of driving around for ages trying to find an open space elsewhere.”

“Rachel was super sweet and very helpful and attentive, the crew here was kind and friendly willing to help even if we weren't there table. 5/5The beet salad was definitely shareable dressing was alittle tart for my taste, but fresh, and beets cooked perfect. 4/5The crispy calamari filled its plate and the aoili was yummy. 5/5The fish and chips were ok, battered nicely but catfish a bit soft and mushy for my taste, however, we really enjoyed the fritz 3/5Ambiance is kept dim, but warm for 815pm. ??”

“Great little place to stop in on while walking on the Bob Jones trail. They have good food for meals. Either to go or you can eat on site in a little dining area they have. It's more of a small scale grocers and deli. Every time I've been in here, the folks working have been very nice and I've always been satisfied with the food.”

The dutch crunch bread added the sweet, bacon added the savory, avocado added the creamy, and the spicy mayo brought a slight heat. Such a unique combination that totally works! Ordering ahead saved me the wait and my orderly was perfectly made. Highly recommend for those in search of fresh, local sandos!”

“Crab soup was wonderful. Scallops were fine/nothing special. The purple sweet potatoes were pureed and tasted like snotty, runny baby food.The swordfish served with bordelaise sauce didn't work. The crabcake lillikoi pepper jelly was way too overwhelming.Sadly disappointed.”

Enjoyed a Cinnamon brown sugar coffee, house specialty, and it was incredibly flavorful; I'm going to try to replicate it at home; such a great twist on my usual drip coffee. Staff was very friendly & hospitable and brought the drink to the table which I appreciate - few spots do that these days. Music was lovely and in the background, not too loud, and had a sweet Latino flair to match the cafe. Sat in a light-filled window seat and started my day perfectly. I didn't order breakfast but they had a beautiful little menu with a lot of hot selections which seemed very substantial - breakfast tortas, quesadillas and burritos.”

“Deltina formerly Quintessa.Is the best coffee in the central coast hands down.I loved coming in and getting my Large white mocha back when I lived here.They use dark roast for their espresso so it is always much more bold flavor wise than a medium roast or light for that matter.Loved the staff and the owner jack was always super kind and explained to me the entire roasting process which they do in house BTW.”

“The food is amazing!! Antionette, Raul and the staff are amazing. Great service!!! Antionette and the staff were so great doing what they do!!!! We loved the fact when we learned they are now dog friendly. Truly was the reason we came because we could bring our Berne-doodle. Sadly when we asked for a piece of grilled chicken for her, they accepted the order and then came back with it had to be at the same price as the chicken breast on the menu. We sucked it up, and it came with all the seasoning whereby she could not eat it. Almost $40 for something she could not eat. We travel all of California. EVERY dog friendly restaurant has a plain burger or chicken breast they can make for your dog in the $5-$8 dollar range. So they may say they are dog friendly, it appears they are merely dog tolerant which in California seems out of touch. Sad to waste such great food and service at those prices when you can't make reasonable exceptions for your dog.”

“We've eaten Ziggy's every time we come to SLO and stay at my wife's favorite place, the Madonna Inn. Every damn time, Ziggy's is one of the highlights that I look forward to. I love the KCK Korean cauliflower salad, the buffalo chicken sando, the breakfast burrito, avocado egg rolls, the crunch wrap, the mushroom burger, the ratchet fries, and more! 10/10 would recommend.”

“Fantabulous service, staff and food. Just stopped in for cocktails as I haven't been back since middle of pandemic for a housemates birthday a year ago. So got briefed on new and revisited this old cocktail, Tye Old fashioned. Boyfriend got a glass of wine and ordered us jalapeño poppers, so good! Great ambience, bar looks like it's under the ocean waves.”

The food was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was both cozy and elegant, and the owner and server went above and beyond to accommodate our celiac dietary restrictions. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in the area.Dietary people in our family have celiac disease, and our waiter and the owner personally made sure that our dishes were prepared gluten-free. They even called the maker of one of their products to ensure it was 100% gluten-free. We have eaten at Nate’s on Marsh several times, and none of our celiac family members have gotten sick.The servers and owner make you feel welcome and are very supportive of your dietary restrictions, and open to making food substitutions for you.Parking: Plenty of paid street parking is available, and there is limited free parking in their parking lot. We have eaten at Nate’s on Marsh several times, and we haven’t had any issues with parking.”

“This is one of those "off the beaten path", "surprise find"-type places. We expected a restaurant, but the food counter is inside a liquor store. Regardless, super friendly staff, OUTSTANDING food, and more than ample portions. We took our food to a nearby park and enjoyed the views of the ocean.”

“My third year coming to Oceano and staying for a week. Loved Pier St Deli so much this year that we ate here 3 out of 6 days. Love love love the shrimp tacos with a side of onion rings. My husband likes to mix things up so he got something different each time (pastrami sandwich, Pismo sandwich and asada quesadilla) and he loved them all. Very reasonably priced for the generous portions. Thanks for the great food. See you next year”
