“Nestled in the heart of our city, this locally-owned Mexican gem offers a culinary journey that surpasses expectations. The menu boasts a symphony of flavors, with each dish crafted to perfection - from sizzling fajitas to savory enchiladas. But it's not just about the food; the drinks menu is equally impressive. Handcrafted margaritas are delicious! Aproud testament to the richness of local flavors and the warmth of community. For an authentic Mexican feast that feels like a homecoming, this is the place to be. ¡Viva la experiencia local!“
“Literally won't go anywhere else for tacos. We have tried almost everything on the menu, and taste has never failed. Service is amazing, fast and professional. Very reasonable pricing and food quality and portions are exceptional. 10/10.“
“Great service! Inside is casual and comfortable which is perfect after a busy Saturday, and I just want to wear yoga pants. It is our 4th time eating here and it is consistently really good. They have good chips and salsa. I highly recommend eating here.“
“One of the best burrito places in Bako! They make Cali, Carne Asada and Chicken of substance and size. There's a salsa bar for customers to enjoy with excellent choices! None of that $.25 a container BS or child size burritos with almost no meat. The employees are cool! I definitely will be a regular.“
“This is my most favorite Mexican food restaurants!! The best in town. I don't like the location all too much for parking when its busy, but that won't stop me from going. Love they're taste of good food and restaurant waitresses are all good. I highly recommend if your wanting authentic Mexican cuisine.“
“Okay let me just start with Mas Bella is my New Favorite Mexican Restaurant full stop! My neighbor invited me to join her and family on March 5th for their Taco Tuesday night out for which I was grateful as it is a sad day for me ( a Remembrance day after losing my best friend and partner) thank you again for invite! I wasn't sure at first but then decided it would be good to get out and be with people so I went and I was not disappointed. Mas Bella is small but comfortable clean and charming the outdoor area looked like a place I'll visit once the weather warms up a bit but the inside reminded my of home warm cozy clean and pretty not over the top just nice. We were a party if 5 and were seated immediately at a large table in the back comfortable booth along the wall with chairs across with great views. Our waitress I didn't get her name but she was the best informative and efficient bringing our free homemade chips and great salsa plus a pitcher of ice cold water on the table quickly she also kept refills coming. She was perfect not intrusive but quietly bringing refills as needed. She took our order after we decided everyone but me ordered one of their fajita dishes and I ordered the combination only I asked if I could have 2 crispy chicken tacos instead of one taco and enchilada she said no problem. You can get either pot beans or refried of course I wanted refried! Amazing beans never had instead of the normal they serve Peruvian White and now they are my new favorite beans! I am not a rice person but their rice was best I have ever had not heavy but the tacos OMG best ever and I've been eating chicken tacos for 60 years! They make their own tortillas both flour and corn and the shell was light not a trace of grease; the chicken was tender and perfectly done moist without being to wet. Perfect amount of lettuce and 2 kinds of salsa on the side. I was in heaven with a Pacifico Beer. My friends didn't leave anything on their plates and while I would love to try I would have to share a fajita plate just do much food for me. I told my out of town friend about my heavenly meal and we have agreed next time she visits we will go and spilt a fajita plate and then maybe we could try the Yucca fries! On Tuesdays you can order Ala carte street tacos pretty inexpensive but I make those I wanted crispy prices seemed a tad high for Bako but everything was fresh and I'm willing to pay a bit more for quality and that we got in spades! If you are looking for a place where you can converse without yelling and enjoy excellence in food, service and vive you can't go wrong with Mas Bella! Sorry we all inhaled our food so no pictures but I promise next time to get some but if you are like me and love chicken tacos get them your belly will thank you!“
“I'm always skeptical of Salvi restaurants. I've been to too many that have fallen short. This one on particular raised a red flag for me because they also serve Mexican dishes. When I think of Salvi food, I think of pupusas. I realize there's more to Salvi food than that. Now, pupusas can be hit or miss. NOT HERE. This place is legit. 100% authentic delicious pupusas. The cheese to masa ratio is exactly what it should be.I'd come here again.“
“Amazing things to say about this place. My husband and I were driving through Bakersfield on our way to LA, we opted to stop here and although they were about to close, the owner didn’t turn us away, she welcomed us. The food was delicious and we didn’t feel rush.Great place!“
“We were on the hunt for authentic Mexican food. So we asked a few locals where to get great Mexican food. We were led to Las Flautas Mexican restaurant. We were served chips and salsa. Chips were warm, crispy and perfectly fried (delicious), salsa was more on the tomato taste side, would prefer a little more heat. As an alternative, I asked for the salsa verde, that one hit the spot. I ordered the Chile Relleno, beans (no rice). Also order 2-tacos de lengua. It's hard to get Chile relleno right, but this place made it exactly like it was home cooked. Beans are either good or bad, there is no middle. The beans were perfectly cooked. Tacos de lengua were tasty, would recommend lengua to be cut in pieces rather than sliced. Brenda was our server and she provide excellent service with a smile! Very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. Service was a 10+!!! Colors of Mexico all around in the seating area. I will definitely be back and say hello to Brenda.“
“This little gem here is amazing. I would've never expected the great food and customer service I'd be receiving from this place. Their carne con Chile Verde was flavorful and just the right spicy level. Also, their wet burrito is amazing. It's hard to find great burritos with every ingredient that makes a burrito, and if you've ever had that issue where the burrito has no rice or missing the beans or does not have enough meat this here is the place for you then. This place will not disappoint.“
“I almost always get the fried fish. I have never been disappointed with my food or service. The atmosphere is great and family friendly. From the tacos, sopes, flautas, burritos and more...everything is delicious! Everything tastes authentic too! And you definitely get your money's worth.“
“I had the Carne Asada quesadilla, which was packed with all kinds of flavorful ingredients, as well as the fish taco. The fish taco was fried with mastery, and really came together from the first bite. I would certainly return. If anything, I would've liked to have had a sour cream sauce to dip the quesadilla in.“
“Under new management. Excellent service the whole staff was attentive, and food was great! The portions were so big. They had an event going on at the time we went and still managed to tend to us as if we were the only group there. Definitely will return soon.“
“Small little restaurant. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was very good. We had the combo fajitas and a side order of ceviche. Came out with warm tortillas that I swear were the best I've ever had. No sour cream or cheese with them, but did get guacamole. Service was very slow. If you are in a hurry or on a lunch break I wouldn't recommend. We say for 20 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. Once it was taken food came out quickly. Took another 15 minutes for us to get the check when done. Worth a visit, just plan to have time to wait.“
“The best ever. Authentic Punjabi food I had Amritsar kulcha and veg sandwich it was so good and we even got complementary chaap taco they started and the chaap literally melted once in mouth. Their food is so amazing. The owner as well he was so nice and welcoming. A hidden gem fr !!!“
“Went with family for late lunch. We had fajitas and they were wonderful. Ordered caldo de res to go for dinner. It was excellent. The service is outstanding and prices are good. Will be back there soon. Also, ordered my granddaughter french fries, they were very good too.“
“Food was pretty good. Really enjoyed the bean dip and pot beans. The best thing about this place hands down is Carol. She was such an amazing person. You felt like you knew her and she took great care of us. I hope this gets back to her. Thank you Carol for your hospitality and your fun interactions. J²“
“Pretty good place to eat reasonable on their prices. Atmosphere could be better if they would turn off their ridiculous radio they have with the bass turned full blast so it vibrates the tables. Not much common sense here with the owners when it comes to a comfortable “
“I saw a Karen talking about this amazing restaurant and how they discriminate against others and had to say that’s insane. I’ve witnessed first hand the equally amazing service and respect their staff provides. As gay couple I haven’t experienced such respect in a Bakersfield restaurant before. It felt like every waiter was checking on our table to ensure we were ok. The prices were great for the large portions and our drinks were made perfect. Saturday night during a rush too and I felt I didn’t wait long for anything. 10/10 food, service and atmosphere.“
“Yup their name is accurate. The tacos were very tasty. I like the asada the most of the three carnes I tried (asada, lengua, and chorizo). If you want a kick order the chorizo. My BF is tearing a little from the chorizo. They also had cabeza, tripa, and pastor. I didn't try those yet, will be back. Likely during tacos Tuesday when they're tacos are $1.50 each.“
“I often go to Bill Wright for service and it is a must that I have lunch or dinner at El Toro Rojo. The food is delicious and service is excellent. Today I stopped by right before closing and the women allowed me in and gladly took my order. She didn't have to however I appreciate her kindness because I was really hungry ❤“
“If you want too the Number 1 Taco Spot ranked in Kern county then look no further! Because Taqueria El Jalisciense Is the best Spot for tacos, quesadillas, their Special Jalisciense Burrito with juicy thick steak, big shrimp and a spicy hot link! 10/10 i recommend, and their quesa birria tacos ???????? ? ? ? let me tell you best in the west! MUST TRY!!!!!!!“
“I absolutely love Don Perico Hageman. The fajitas are always spot on. With crispy thin steak strips and that amazing citrusy flavor. The veggies are perfectly soft and delicious. We recently moved out of state and plan to return to Don Perico any time we visit town. The only negative is that sometimes the staff can be stand-offish. Most of the employees are very friendly and attentive, but a couple come off annoyed and rude. On the opposite spectrum, I’ve seen the bartender manage the bar as well as a room full of tables with a smile and without missing a beat, despite some loud and and rude patrons. Regardless, we love it here!“
“The food was delicious, we had never been here before and saw the parking lot full on multiple occasions so we told ourselves they must Know something that we don't, the atmosphere inside was great, there were multiple waiters all over the place helping people, we met the owner she was walking around greeting people, such a lovely lady, she was explaining the 50 plus years of rich history at the El Sombrero, we were disappointed we hadn't stopped by sooner after her explanation of how her and her husband started the business, we love supporting local establishments, the food was great, my wife got the chicken and steak fajitas and I got the chicken enchiladas, we both couldn't finish our food as the portions are more than generous and I got a strawberry margarita and it was mixed to perfection, thank u el Sombrero for hanging in there and staying open all these years ?“

“I had a really good experience at Buena Vida. The food was so delicious and it came out in good time. The staff were all friendly and helpful and its a nice roomy area with plenty of seating. We got the chicken taquitos and the Aguachile de Ribeye. Great flavors. On the pricier side, but worth it.“
“My wife, son and I went to eat around noon Saturday. They let me order a chilaquiles plate even though breakfast was over. It was really good. My wife ordered fish tacos and she said they were good. The chips and salsa were really fresh and tasted great. Service was excellent.“
“Stopped in for lunch this week. I had the el pastor burrito and it was outstanding. I can’t say enough about how great it was. The meat was super tender and flavorful. The service was excellent; very fast. I highly recommend it if you are in the airport “
“Mauricio the cook deserves a damn raise and a party. I accidentally left my purse yesterday because my child was upset and I carried her out while my husband paid. I called this morning and the waitress said it wasn't there and sounded Shakey like she was scared so I felt suspicious. I came in anyway and the waitress was nowhere to be seen but Mauricio immediately said it was there and handed it over. I cried a little and tipped him for his honesty. Real gentleman are rare these days, he's a real gentleman. His honesty is refreshing and he really saved my ass today.“
“I have been here several times and the food is always delicious!! They have carnitas and chicharrón with such a delicious flavor that they remind me of the taste of Mexico at family parties. But I have to admit that the pastor is one of my favorite tacos and the flavor they have in this establishment surprised me.The customer service is 5 stars and most importantly a very clean place. On weekends they offer delicious Menudo with freshly made tortillas!!I definitely have to bring my friends and family with this music and food that they don't even want to leave, they gave me ❤️❤️Congratulations to the owners and their staff because they are doing an exceptional job.“
“I'm like a food critic, and I'm from Alaska, and I came to this place from a friend who recommended this place to try out. I have massive high-quality taste buds for tacos ? and more on the menu to try out. They Bierria Goat tacos with cheese are by far the best I've tried in Bakersfield so far since I've been here for about a month, and they customer service is well mannered and helpful with a warm smile greeting, I'm a BIG fan of authentic Coca-Cola glass bottle, and it tasted just like it says without the high fruit toss syrup of the way it should taste. The tacos has an amazing crunch and unique light flavor stuffed taco that I really enjoyed, and the Cosome 8oz was a mouth watering flavore with unique texture and very big texture all in one cup, overall very fulfilling due to the massive portions?, so overall what I tried so far was perfect massive portions for just tacos for the right price to have a happy belly of enjoyment and they have homemade cucumber lemon drink and many others to choose from on the menu. If you wanna enjoy they food and stay cool from the heat, then come and park or walk here and enjoy the amazing atmosphere they have and the clean environment while dining in or take out. They salsa and condiments are really homemade flavored salsas with a perfect thickness, so it doesn't run down my hand while or make a mess while enjoying my food. I highly recommend them for when you're hungry or family dine in or if you're in a hurry by placing a pick-up order through Uber Eats. Wonderful experience here, and I'll be for sure coming back for more and other food to try on the menu. Keep up the good work, everyone, and the cooks in the back. Everyone deserves a raise and a couple of business shirt uniforms. God Bless ??“
“The food here is amazing! Honestly, if you don't go here you missing out. The service is amazing because they will remember everything you say without writing it down. I love the way they have the restaurant decorated, and they also have reservations for large parties. The last time we went there they had a party of 20 inside the restaurant but outside they had like about 40 people having a party of some sort. I recommend this place.“
“This place is a very tiny little place and just love coming here . Me and my coworker come here often. Pablo and Johnny are great with customers and the food is amazing. I alwsys get the hard shell taco with a Chile relleno. Its bomb. Come on downParking: There enough parking maybe for 10 cars but you could park on the street. No problem.“
“From the outside surrounding of the building you second guess coming in. But how wrong could I be? As soon as I come in the restaurant is nice and clean and the gentleman came out behind the counter to take my order(very friendly) got a few pastor tacos and they were fire. Taco was crunchy and the meat was tender and well marinated.10 out of 10 best tacos in town possibly even better then a lot of L.A tacos“
“DELICIOUS!! They tend to move locations and be in different spots but we caught them close to our house. My family and I decided to get Queso birria tacos! They all come with their own consume, onion and cilantro on the side along with the hot sauce. They also come with a side of lemon. The food was HOT and fresh!!! The consomé didn't taste fatty and was so yummy and had great flavor. The tacos were crispy, juicy and super flavorful. Perfect to dip into the consomé. The Jamaica was refreshing but a bit too sweet for me I wish it was a bit more tangy and sour, but that's my own preference. There was a lot of seating and lots of parking, I will definitely be coming back for me. I ordered 6 tacos, 3 consomés and 2 aguas and came out to a bit over $30.“
“So this location is in the middle of an industrial area, keeping that in mind. I cannot recommend the quesabirria tacos enough. Consomé requires an order of 3 or more or purchased separately. They have a good breakfast burrito, I like the one that mixes all their meets, can't go wrong with the chorizo either.Their other taco meats are fine but the birria shines the brightest! Only complaint is they never have Horchata nor Jamaica agua fresca!“
“Celebrated my sister's bday at this restaurant and 1st we had to wait about an hr for a table ( 10people, becausethey don'ttake any reservations) then service was slow! Waitress came to check on us around 4 times during our 2 1/2 hrs we sat there! Food n drinks were good and u only get 2 free baskets of chips and Salsa. After that they charge you. Gratuity is included on parties of 10 or more!!“
“Got a Carne Asada burrito with green salsa and cheese on top and it was a delicious meal . Food ingredients were freash and presentation was well prepared . This was a phone order that i pick up myself . The establishment was clean and seem a bit upscale in the inside . Clean and i saw a bar in the premises . Will be going back here and there for a delicious treat .“
“This was an amazing little Mexican restaurant that I never knew was there. The place is nice & clean & the staff is wonderful & friendly. The atmosphere was great. It was nice & cozy inside & we didn't even have to wait to be seated. That was awesome ??.. The food was great & I enjoyed my beef tacos ? with rice & beans. The chips & salsa were good & they kept us wanting more & refilled them anytime we asked. My buddy had his enchiladas ? made to his specific liking. They make them however you want them. Appetizers were amazing as well. This little place didn't disappoint one bit. I would say to anyone that they should give this little place a try cause I found it off the hook & the food was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here for a meal again. I loved it here. ‼️Parking: They had a handicap ♿️ stall parking spot, so I was happy about that.Wheelchair accessibility: There is plenty of room for me to get in and out of my vehicle“
“First time here, and I'll definitely be back, this place was the bomb, the food was delicious, the place is very clean and beautiful ❤️, but the service is what impressed me the most.My waitress was amazing ?, her name is Marisol Ornelas and she will go out her way to please you and your family.“
“Realllly good food, I would definitely come back here again. The octopus was delicious. The shrimp was amazing. I think everything on the menu looked amazing and the place was packed so that's a sign that they're doing things right. If you want mariscos in Bakersfield, this is a very solid spot“
“Me and my S.O. Travel from Southern California to Northern California often for family, we have now stopped here twice and it's now my absolute favorite food stop on our travels. The experience is amazing from start to end, the service is outstanding and very personable. that Carries all the way through until you are leaving and the person working the register waves you off and wishes you safe travels and happy holidays. Its not often you find a gem like this.. reasonable prices, amazing food, and terrific helpful service. I will definitely return as often as possible and look forward to it each time.“
“This place is as good of Mexican food as you’ll find out here. Very well seasoned and the salsa/chips were great! I think they could make the frozen margaritas a little bit sweeter/flavorful but they were strong so I can’t say too much negative on them. The beans were delicious and they had the Sunday games on in the bar. Great atmosphere and worth every penny! Will be back.“
“Just ordered there 64pc party tray, they delivered across town for me for a very fair delivery cost, food arrived in a great timely manner! Its been a while since I ordered from here but wow everything was so delicious! Great job taco pronto thanks I will be coming back for more ?“
“A Bakersfield staple for a reason! Stopped by not only the food but the service was amazing! Try the wet burrito if you have it already. Definitely worth the prices! The burrito was the size of my son's arm and so flavorful ?❤️Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access from parking to entry“
“I come here to get birra tacos w/ cheese & their Cajun pasta, 10/10!!! Crew members are always kind & patient. I didn’t get his name but whoever that gentleman is, the crew member in the front (short sleeve blue shirt- short dark nice hair) inside taking orders & assisting today @ 7pm 4/4/24 is so kind & exemplifies great customer service!!! Drive thru forgot my beans that comes w/ rice so I went inside & he assisted me swiftly & even gave me extra taco!!! I didn’t have to ask. Thx you!!!!“
“I love the Don Pericos on Oswell St on the Eastside of Bakersfield. We go quite often, (my 2 daughter's & son) usually go there on Sunday mid mornings . So that we can take advantage of the Brunch that is served deliciously made and fresh off of the grills or stoves or whatever utensils they utilize there to prepare the food. I haven't a single complaint from the servers to the freshness of the food the right temperature of the place as well as the food. When serving yourself the many options that they offer for breakfast you can order omelets However you like them and one of the chefs will prepare them right in front of you while flipping the eggs in the pan one handed. Also the cleanliness of the restraunt is immaculate. Which is remarkable considerimg it is an all you can eat and serve yourself eatery. plenty of parking as well as for the handicap. And it is such a family oriented place. So on any day of the week whether it be for family gatherings or business brunches. I rate this place a top ten! Minus nothing! Top top TOP of the line“
“The tacos here are some of the best I’ve had in town. Their asada has a nice charcoal smokey taste that pairs well with their spicy habanero salsa. The lady at the register was very nice and even included grilled onions and chiles when I mentioned I had forgotten to order them. The location and building may not be the nicest looking, but the food and service definitely makes up for it. You have to come by and give them a try.“
“Bakersfield diamond in the rough. Not to be confused by the other El Puesto's in town. The worst part about this place is where it's at. Been recommending this place to other locals, but I understand that it's a tough choice at first glance. If you go in the fall it's nice and cold so bring a sweater. The food I thought was pretty great. Their plates, cups, and such fit the theme very well. You can feel the Mexican culture brimming! Try the birria, and the shrimp. Definitely the way to go. Our server was very attentive, really took it to the bases recommending his favorites. It was a busy night but he handled it like a champ.“
“Authentic Salvadoran flavor and seasoning. Delicious and delicious food in each of the dishes we ordered. The lady who serves is super friendly and very pretty. I recommend this place 100% and if I could give it more stars I would. Thank you very much for caring about your clients! See you soon !Parking: Accessible“
