“Saturday review, so beignets available! The best beignets I've had since I moved to California, but still not quite as good as New Orleans.The Workshop is basically a takeout window, but there are a couple of outside tables, so hopefully you can sit and have your coffee and beignets popping hot.”

“This place is hidden in the cuts but worth the drive for some good barbecue. From the freeway exit N/B 680 it's only one turn right turn a maybe a 2 minute drive. From S/B 680 it may be 5 minutes more if that. It's kind of hidden but there is a big sign you can't miss if you're looking. They have a small parking lot and take orders through the screen door. There is outside seating and tables if you choose to eat there. I placed my order after looking over the menu outside and my food was ready really quick. The 2 way combo was $25 which was understandable and reasonable for the portion sizes and inflation. My only gripe may be on what they consider potato salad which was more like a loaded baked potato. The flavor of the chicken and ribs were delicious. The ribs were tender and neither were burned or over cooked. I also like that they put the barbecue sauce in containers for you to add to your food as you like. The Mac and cheese was pretty good too but could have used a bit more seasoning to it. Otherwise I like this place and the staff are very nice as well. Oh yeah, they didn't have the lumpia that day”

“I'm not a huge Pho fan but this spot changed my mind! I ordered the lunch special for $13. Well done thin steak pho with egg noodle instead of rice noodle that came with two veggie spring roll. The bowl came out super hot, very fresh tasting, clean tasting meat and the broth was extra flavorful! Not bland at all!! Definitely recommend to all friends and families!!!”

“All the food tasted great. We had the western cheese burger, the double bacon cheeseburger, and the chili fries. The prices were more than I would have expected, but the quality was top notch.”

“Quick and attentive service ( not too much) even though they were busy. Great food. Love the tea salad. The garlic eggplant with shrimp was really good. The samosas to start were a good choice , nice and tender filling with a great crust. We also had crispy chicken, garlic noodles, garlic broccoli,and black pepper beef. All were delicious. I had a great tasting ginger lemonade.”

“After a recent midday trip to Benicia, we were hungry. I have been to several other restaurants on 1st Street and enjoyed them all. I will finish those reviews soon. It was my suggestion to have lunch here. We could leave the car parked and it was a short walk. Happily, it was a good choice. I ordered the Shrimp and Asparagus salad, and it was delicious. The salad consisted of mixed greens, avocado slices, cherry tomatoes, a semi-hardboiled egg, and asparagus topped off with two skewers of grilled shrimp. The Louie dressing was served on the slide. K had the pulled pork sandwich. The interior was pleasant, the bathrooms were clean, and the service was attentive.The Taproom is on my list for a return visit.”

“Took my brother and his wife there for lunch. Crab melt was very good. Clam chowder soup delicious. Fish & chips real good. Sat upstairs with a view of the Vallejo Bridge. Friendly, clean and we love Benicia ? by the bay.”

“Glorified fast food for me. Cafeteria style ordering and get your food at the counter when they call your name. My bf loved his cold sandwich and my grilled veggie panini was only ok. Mozzarella, avo, tomatoes, and bread. No seasoning to speak of. I ordered fries for $2.50 extra and wasn't offered ketchup. What is that weird batter they coat fries with now a days? It's supposed to be an old fashioned deli style establishment per its namesake, plus the Marilyn Monroe decor. I had to go to the counter several times to grab napkins, salt, and ketchup to tolerate the bland and messy food. I would visit again in a pinch but probably get a cold sandwich and pass on the fries.Vegetarian options: Mostly meat. No meat alternatives but you could build your own veggie sandwich or get the bland panini.”

“Incredible service with authentic Italian dishes. I shared the prosciutto appetizer with my eight year old daughter, who until now ate store-bought prosciutto. She actually noticed it was better, and commented on how the tomatoes and cucumber and fresh mozzarella made the perfect bite.My chicken piccata was the best I've had outside of Italy. Her Bolognese was fantastic, and she ate so much she regretted it!Service was excellent; friendly staff, great starter bread, and an overall atmosphere as completely casual with elevated food and service!”
