“Introduction to My favorite restaurant in LA Part 25#BeverlyHills #Anarbagh“Beverly Hills’ hidden gem of Indian food”I like Indian food, but my kids don't like spicy food, so I wasn't willing to have it. I found this place while looking for a different type of food for lunch with my wife.California's population composition is similar to the world's population composition... so there are a lot of Chinese and Indians, the first and second most populous countries in the world, and there are quite a few Indian restaurants. Interestingly, each Indian restaurant has its own unique taste of curry and the taste of meat cooked in tandoori is also distinctly different. Having fun like this seems to be one of the fun things about working at an American Indian restaurant.#atmosphereEven though we visited during the peak lunch hour at 12:30, there was no one in the store, perhaps because we were the first customers. I felt somewhat uneasy as I sat down, but fortunately, Indian customers came after us, which gave me some relief. The fact that both the servers and the chef were Indian raised expectations. The slightly old-looking interior, furniture, and decorations give an idea of the history of this house... It felt like it must have been around for at least 15 years.#menuAs for Indian food, I only know curry, tandoori, and naan, so I ordered that much. Perhaps because it is Indian food, the type of meat is simple, such as chicken, lamb, fish, and shrimp. Unfamiliar names like Vindaloo, Karahi, Jalfazi, etc. were put off until next time.#premeal chipsSince it was Indian food, I expected simple naan as an aperitif, but unexpectedly they gave me chips. The white chips were filled with oats, and it had an unexpectedly light and protein flavor, which made me curious about its identity. When I asked the server, he said it was a chip made with baked chickpea paste. It's a strange experience where the texture and taste are similar to fish shells. When eaten with the sweet and spicy tamarind sauce and spicy and refreshing mint sauce served together, it is an addictive taste that you can't put down. First of all, the pre-dinner <chips> were a huge success.#Nan #IThis place is really delicious. The thickness is ideal and the elasticity and chewiness are just right. Plus, it's baked so well that the outside is slightly crispy and the peel-like texture is pleasing to the teeth.#Tandoori #TandooriThe Indian style oven is called a tandoor, and it has a unique structure with an open ceiling. It is an Indian all-purpose oven that can be used to bake naan by pasting flour dough on the inner wall of the oven, or to grill meat by sticking it on a skewer. A restaurant that uses this tandoor well is a restaurant that makes good Indian food. I ordered the most common <#TanduriChicken> and it took about 30 minutes.First of all, the visuals are overwhelming.Delicious, well-cooked chicken is served sizzling on an iron plate. (This is my first time seeing tandoori served like this) In addition, it was grilled to the essence of the texture on the outside, and the marinade had a slightly acidic and sweet taste, which really brought out the taste of the chicken. The tandoori I used to eat in Korea had very strong spices, but in the case of the chicken here, the seasoning focuses on flavor ingredients rather than strong spice ingredients, so you can eat it without much preference.#curryI wanted to eat the house's original curry rather than coconut or masala, so I ordered the shrimp original curry. You can adjust the spiciness, but I heard that the mid-up hot was very spicy, so I ordered regular and requested hot sauce separately. The color feels like a rich Japanese curry, but the taste feels like a demi-glace sauce with a light sweetness and curry flavor combined well?? It has a very familiar and mouth-watering taste. It goes well with naan, rice, and chicken. Plus, the plump and large shrimp add a rich flavor.#sauceThe tamarind sauce and mint sauce that were first served both go well with tandoo“
“The most delicious Indian cuisine. It has a magical touch to it unlike any other place! You are treated as a family member. Gorgeous interior decorated with authentic bronze figurines from India. It's such a special experience each time. Bombay Palace is unique, truly one of a kind restaurant filled with soul and warmth. Absolute favourite place for Indian cuisine for many years!“
“Traveling from east coast to west coast on a vacation trip, Mayura was the best Kerala food we had tried in a while. We had Appam, Porotta, Thali, fish curry, chicken curry, Kurma and idiyappam and everything tasted really authentic and homely. Excellent service as well.“
“Great tasting food, service was attentive, atmosphere/decor was great. We were told to order more food than we thought necessary, by the time we got the last dish - we couldn't finish it. Unfortunately, they packed it up in such a small container that you could tell half of the curry was thrown out! Recommend to use a bigger container!“
“I'm so sad that this place is so far because this place is so good! My husband and I ordered the Saucy Butter Chicken Wings, Paneer Masala Fries, Kahmiri Alla Pasta, Spiced Lamb, and Curry Fun (Chana Masala and Chicken Tikka Masala). Our favorites were the wings, fries, and pasta! Must orders. We also had the Mango Lassi and the Pink Punjabi. We both preferred the Mango Lassi. The Pink Punjabi tasted like milky sprite with a hint of rose. For dessert, we finished with the Rose Doughnuts because the Halwa Ice Cream Sandwich wasn't ready. I think I would've preferred the ice cream sandwich because the doughnuts were way too sweet for me. It is a little pricey than what I'm used to - since I live closer to Little India in Artesia. But it's the pricing for the area its in to be honest. Love that this spot is halal and vegan/gluten-free friendly. There's a public parking lot that didn't have an attendant, but had signs to still pay the amount of $10 in a box. We didn't want to risk it, so we parked in the neighborhood and walked. Our service was fantastic with Rajat. The place was clean and vibrant. Everything came out hot, ready, and pretty!“
“Nice food. Friendly staff. I am a repeat La Mirch Studio City customer. I asked for Chicken Tikka Masala with sauce on the side. I was charged $16 for the chicken tikka and $9 for sauce. I was not so happy about that. If you make chicken tikka masala, don't you make it fresh then add sauce? Why then is a $17 entree becoming a $25 entree? It does not seem good to me. I enjoy the food but this was not a happy experience to pay $9 to simply ask for sauce on the side. Please explain. Thank you!“
“The variety of Indian food was mainly focused on certain region and elevated it so well. I enjoyed every bit of the food. The desserts were different with a twist. Will be coming back here. They do not serve hard liquor but do have wine and beer. Parking is on the road.“
“Great place to go and eat ! Even if you’re feeling like eating in or to go or even door dash oh my gosh I’m going now I love there butter chicken !!!! A MUST HAVE !!!!Kid-friendliness: Wonderful service family owned businessWheelchair accessibility: There’s ramps“
“The best place I have ever been to eat, very clean, the portion of food-price is really good, super delicious, fresh, well seasoned, the person who serves is very very friendly and very nice!!! I work in that area and it will become my new lunch place“
“Nice place to get together with friends and or family and enjoy delicious Indian food. The service is good and the ambiance is cool. We went there on a Sunday for brunch and we had a really good time, there's a DJ on the premises to dance a little if you so desire... Enjoy it my dear “
“Edited for recent visit on 2/7/24:Finally got to try the malai pasta. It did not disappoint in flavor and was fantastic. I think adding some meatballs would further elevate this dish with some protein. Lamb sliders were also super tasty. The pizza was fine but was made better by dipping it in the malai pasta sauce. The staff were gracious and helpful. Significantly improved from my previous visit. Would come back.Malai pasta: 4.5/5Lamb sliders: 4.5Green tikka pizza: 3.5Old review:I’ll admit we didn’t have the pasta. Between the pizza, wings, and something else we had we left feeling pretty underwhelmed. We asked a couple next to us about their wings which were different than ours and their response was a similar “meh”.Indian food and Italian food should be full of flavors, this fusion of flavors seemed to be meant for the palate of someone who had never had any ethnic food. I appreciate the attempt, but I felt it was poorly executed. I might give them a try again as it has been awhile.“
“We were looking for an authentic desi food, and loved it. The place or ambience is a fast food place one, more for a carry out orders. . We ordered Goat Paya curry, Goat biryani, Chicken biryani, naan, mango lassi( really tasty), and Mixed grill. The proportion size is great. Courtesy of the owner, Karim bhai was superb, served us complimentary Ras malai. Their chai is good too. They have fresh samosas too.Tomas at the front cashier counter is also a kind lady. Overall, great experience.Pricing is reasonable too.“
“my friend bashes indian food and perhaps not just their food well let's keep that to ourselves shall we the problem is the price fundamentally an american may view this cuisine as exotic however i also view it as exotic but perhaps not worth the exorbitant fees they charge perhaps indian food in LA is a bigger racket than anything scorsese filmed about“
“This place is a Gem! Found it on Uber eats under offers and it was the best Indian food I ever had. Food was well packed and very warm. Everything is so fresh and so delicious I highly recommend this place. The beef biryani; Gulab; chicken tikka and Mango Lasi!!! Just amazing!!“
“awesome family owned Indian restaurant very nice peopleI had the tikka masala and the chicken, korma rice, and with non-the two item combo come on guys don't go waste your money On some big franchise chain come here these people really care what they're doing here. They're so proud of their food, and they will should be at so freaking. It's so nice when you go to Indian restaurants one person have to drop over $40-$50. Sometimes we are at work. We eat Indian food and go back to work. That's curry zones I love curry this is my eighth It was an accident, but I don't come here by accident. I come here cause it's fantastic.“
“You must come here. One of my new favorite restaurants. Everything was full of flavor but not overpowering. All of the food was fresh, even the gulab jamun (dessert donut ball in syrup) was still very warm. The service was wonderful and the inside of the restaurant is very nice. Try the combo plate and the indian beer!!“
“Every time we eat there, we are impressed by the overall quality of the food and service. Chef Arango delivers high quality food in every dish. Each item is extremely fresh and well prepared. You can also tell that the family really appreciates every single customer. I can't say enough positive things about them. I am honestly thankful to have a such a solid Indian food option right in the neighborhood.“
“This Indian restaurant located in Culver City 90230. The couple running the restaurant are very nice. The prices and portions are on point. All dishes including the appetizers are delivered on an outside patio. No indoor tables except one table.“
“I recently dined at this Indian restaurant and was blown away by the culinary journey it took me on. The Chicken Makhni, Alu Gobhi, and the Garlic Naan along with the Cheese Naan were absolute delights . Each dish was bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced in spices. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. You won't be disappointed!“
“Casual atmosphere, but the food in this place is as good as the best food available in Northern India. It's a hidden treasure created by a talented, caring, and creative Punjabi chef.We ordered bhindi masala, chicken korma, shrimp tandoori, yellow dal, plain basmati rice, garlic naan, and plain naan. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. You don't need to (and you won't want to) add anything to any dish (spicy peppers, pickles, salt, sauce), because the chef has thought of everything, and done everything exactly right. The bhindi (okra) is simply seasoned and has an earthy, smoky flavor, accompanied by other carefully chosen vegetables that enhance and don't overpower the bhindi. The chicken korma is tender and very tasty. The perfectly succulent shrimp tandoori is accompanied by delicious broccoli also cooked in the tandoor, and the dish arrives at your table still steaming. The yellow dal is especially delicious, as are the breads.Overall, a great and unexpected eating experience. Highly recommended.Parking: You can park in the parking spots reserved for the strip mall.“
“This is our family 'go to' for delicious Indian food served in a small, popular restaurant. If anyone comes to visit LA this is where we take them. The food is to die for, the perfect balance of flavors and portion size. The menu is large enough there is something for everyone be they veggie, lamb, chicken, or just like rice and naan (like our kid). They take their time making the meals and it really shows. Probably underpriced for the quality of the experience. Lots of street and metered parking. Bottom line? Masala House is where you want to go for Indian.Kid-friendliness: Have excellent fruit drink options for kids, very family friendly place, always feel welcomed.“
“Great food, great service.Mukesh was a good host taking care of our order. This restaurant will be on my list to visit again and again whenever in LA. Restaurant success is to hear its customers' needs and service them accordingly, and Abhiruchi does that with a smile.“
“I dined in this restaurant for the first time today. The rating of this restaurant is five out of five according to the quality of the food. High-quality restaurant service. The whole restaurant is very clean and I am very happy with the cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant. When I entered the restaurant there was a nice aromatic smell inside this restaurant which made me want to write something about the restaurant.. Other Indian restaurants have a strong pungent smell of spices but in this restaurant, the only difference I got was a very nice aromatic smell which is used in various five-star hotels while stay. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautifully blended with the color of the walls of the restaurant under the light amber lights to create a dense romantic atmosphere.I am so happy with the organic food of this restaurant that I wish this restaurant all the best for the future and I look forward to seeing the success of this restaurant very high. I am happy with the food of today's restaurant and may your restaurant continue to use this type of organic and locally cut lamb, goat, and chicken in the future.I highly recommend this restaurant.Parking: Free Parking Lot.Kid-friendliness: Very kids Friendly. The owner of this restaurant gave my kid free kulfi.“
“Totally amazed by the great selection and quality of the food at lunch buffet. It was really good. They had chicken biryani, goat curry, chicken tikka massala, tandoori, chicken and so many other dishes. They also Chai tea and a good selection of sweet desserts. A gem of a spot and I'm glad I chanced upon it. This will be my go to for Indian buffet, authentic. Service was top notch too!!“
“There are few places that leave both my hunger and heart satiated. Electric Karma is one of them. From the amazing food to the wonderful customer service and the amazing company I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying here, I cannot express how happy this place makes me feel.I’m eternally grateful to have shared conversations with my dear friends in the back room, legs crossed, hunched over the low tables. There’s something so special about passing plates back and forth, ensuring everyone gets their fair share, that makes me feel so lucky.Whenever I make plans to go here, I look forward to it all day. I can’t wait to come back and share space with the host and my friends again soon. I’d give them 6 stars if I could :)“
“Food is amazing here! I love butter chicken and have tried it from several place around LA, and this one takes the take! I usually order through DoorDash but I came in this time and the service was incredible. Small little restaurant but the kitchen cranks out an impressive meal. Love.“
“My friend and I came to Tara's because she had heard good things about the restaurant from multiple people. We came in not really sure what to expect, and left with very happy bellies. The food was good and the portions were huge for the price. I got the butter chicken and asked them to swap the dark meat for white meat which they were able to do. It was quite the savory treat! My friend got the Daal Bhat Tarkari with Garlic Tofu and was happy with her choice as well. We also got an extra side of rice and some garlic naan bread to share and had plenty of leftovers to have for lunch the next day. The restaurant has a very cozy feel to it and our waitress was a total sweetheart. Tara's is the perfect place to come for some warm food on a cold night. I can't wait to come back!“
“I had lunch today for the first time. Veg samosas, sag paneer, channa masala, rice and potato stuffed naan. All of it was so fresh and very delicious! Large portions so I had plenty to take home. It was also very clean and quiet with attentive service. I'll be back.“
“Urban Masala consistently stays one of my favorite places to get Indian food in LA. I'm single, so ordering from most places and being able to try everything I want can easily put me back $80+ but Urban Masala's plates allow me to get a little bit of everything I like for less than $20 and it is always so so good. You can't go wrong here.“
“Wow. I liked Indimex before they changed management, now I love it! I wrote a review 7 years ago with a follow up 6 years ago pre covid. Remember when? During Covid and even more recently, I would order and have it delivered. But tonight I saw they were open and there was parking space right in front so I went in person. Wonderfully warm new owner, quaint dining room albeit small but remodeled and the new owner has plans for more. - feels more authentically Indian with a Mexican twist. Indian movie posters and music, colorful walls and tables. Their Chicken Tikka Masala sauce is the real deal as is the raita. Delicious. The chicken tikka masala quesadillas are reasonable and filling. I'm so glad they survived Covid and with this new management I'm excited to see what comes next. Have an adventure as I said in my original posting 7 years ago. Tired of the same old same old? Support local businesses. And enjoy!“
“Had one of their combo meals via delivery. Goat curry, saag paneer and a mixed veg dish with rice, naan and raita. Everything was delicious, certainly some of the best Indian food I've had close to mid city. Very much appreciate that they serve goat and have dishes on the menu that are outside the standard Indian menu you see at most places in the area. Looking forward to going in person and trying their balti dishes as well as the paya. "Very very spicy" here seems to mean mildly spicy, so if you're a chili head like me best to let them know you mean business. The cilantro mint chutney was probably the best I've ever had-so fresh. All around great food.“
“Best Indian food I've ever had. Everytime I've ordered elsewhere since ordering from here I've been disappointed. My GO TO Indian spot & it will never be rivaled! I always get the veggie coconut curry, basmati rice, veggie samosas, raita, mint sauce & mango chutney, and the cheese naan. And a mango lassi & gulab for dessert of course. Consistent and delicious. Love yall!“
“Visiting from Vancouver and came across this sweet little restaurant. Food was absolutely amazing - fresh, flavourful, and delicious! My wife and I are quite picky about Indian food but this place hit the mark! We had to go back one more time before we left L.A. They were closing that day but the owner was super kind and let us in. Will definitely come back to this place the next time we visit L.A.“
“My son took me to this place while I was visiting LA, and I absolutely loved the ambience, the food quality and the friendly staff. Dishes served were freshly made and the taste was authentic. I highly recommend this place to everyone, its an experience.“
“So far the best butter chicken I've had is from this restaurant. That's really the major reason why I visit this restaurant because the butter chicken is so delicious. Also like their mango lassi and garlic naan as well. For anyone new to this restaurant those are the items I recommend getting from here. The food can be a bit pricy “
“I wish I could give them 4.5 stars but it's not an option. And let's be real- there is zero ambiance here. I wouldn't want to dine in. But the owner is super friendly and the food is delicious. And that's what it's all about right? My family ordered a few mains, plus apps and sides and every single thing was tasty. At first I thought the portions were a little small for the money, but those containers held a lot more than they looked! Even without ordering a ton we had a couple of small lunches the next day. I suggest ordering from the Yelp menu which is much more extensive than the website menu. We will definitely be back and would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys the flavors of India!“
“Store owner is great. Cheap groceries and has everything you'd need to make a last minute meal or if you're missing an ingredient which I've needed on occasion lol. I'm super excited that I won't have to drive far and it's open late. Definitely recommend!“
“Indias grill is truly the best. I’ve been their customer for 22 years and they always are so friendly and the food is amazing. The food is very authentic and I always enjoy coming here since they make me feel at home. I highly recommend the chicken tika masala and the garlic naan“
“Wow, everything was just amazing. First, they happily welcomed us in. They already seemed very friendly and made us feel comfortable. We sat down and had a few questions. The waiter was very kind and explained the difference between chicken tikka( sizzler, not in sauce) and chicken tik masala( in red tomato based sauce), and other questions we had.We also got our drinks and we usually have to tell other places that we don’t want ice in our water, but they asked us first, which was very considerate of them. They also frequently checked on us and made sure we were good on water and food.We really enjoyed the food and although it’s next to a 7/11, the atmosphere and service was just so great that we forgot that we had to leave. I really enjoyed everything. Also, their bathroom is so clean!! It’s honestly one of the best experiences we had at an Indian restaurant. We even briefly talked to the servers and they were also so kind and come to find out, they are mostly family working. You can tell how sincere they are and truly want all their guests to be happy. Before we walked out, the waitress came and opened the door. We walked in with a smile and left with a smile and joy. We loved how they were considerate of all the little things and you can truly feel their sincerity when they’re working. We also asked them to take a picture of the food, which was presented so nicely on their cart. It was all great and we are definitely going back:)“
“We had a delicious vegan dinner here tonight at this tiny little strip mall Indian restaurant. Lean into the music and the decor and you feel like you must be traveling. Not a vegan restaurant per se, but plenty of vegan options. Two of us ordered one portion of Aloo Gobi, Eggplant Bharta, Dal Tarka, and basmati rice to share. The food is delicious, made to order and portions generous. We had enough leftovers to request a take out container. We'll be back!“
“Consistently good food. Nihari is delicious, every chicken dish i’ve had has been great, I can’t wait to try the biryani and haleem. The guys working are always very nice and helpful and it’s a fun place to be. only issue is parking but it’s not their fault.“
“We loved the food a lot. Jain food was very good. Staff was not that polite, however food made us very happy. If you stay in LA and visit Santa Monica beach and looking for India vegetarian restaurant around, this restaurant will come to rescue. Just mind the timing as its open till 9:30 pm.Dietary restrictions: They have separate Jain menu. We tried Jain Paneer makhani, Paneer paratha, Dal tadka and Jeera rice. Every dish was amazing. Must a visit.“
“I can’t say about the service as it ws take out order but ya lots of attitude, thought a local person so asked d address after ordering for take out but din help at all….Nt at all welcoming ppl, 4 stars just for food not for the persons overs there…..Don’t expect good service or welcoming people there, just pick or eat the food tats it….Rice ws soft as required, paneer curry ws tasty, extra pickle ws given, moong dal ws also so tasty“
“A very pleasant surprise near Universal Studios. We found a nice Indian restaurant. This nice restaurant serves some good favorite Indian dishes that you would be familiar with. The spices are perfect.certainly enjoyable. Medium heat is perfect and may be geared for the spice lovers thus choose accordingly if you are more adventurous they have hot and very hot options. The decor is nice and cleanThe dining room was packed with customers tonight. They are well situated from their long history at this location. The pricing is reflective of all this and is very good value. You will be well satisfied. We’ll be back real soon Royal Curry“
“Excellent delicious, fresh, healthy vegetarian food served in a highly uplifting atmosphere. Nice people, and fantastic location next to the Krishna temple. We also went to the Bhagavad Gita museum next door and thought that was fabulous. Will definitely return the next time we are in LA!“
“Hidden little gem in a plaza that looks uninviting on the outside but very cozy on the inside and serves authentic, large portion dishes. I ordered for pick up on Uber eats as they had a BOGO promotion on a variety of different combos. So, my boyfriend and I chose the chicken tikka masala that came with plain naan for only $18 for 2. The taste matched the amazing price point. The sauce was super rich and creamy with a hint of sweetness + tanginess and medium heat then topped with the well balanced spices that come along with Indian dishes. However, it was the service that caught my attention and triggered my desire to promote the business even more. I want to say it was the owner that had such a welcoming & kind character to him. When I ordered from here before, the combos used to come with drinks so I assumed the same with ordering this time around. We asked if they had forgotten our sodas and he softly explained "oh, I'm sorry. That was the old promotion we used to do but I don't mind giving you guys sodas. Thanks for being returning customers" with a sweet smile.Don't forget to support small businesses - this one is definitely a big worth it in my books!“
“Went to grab dinner here before a Laker game and absolutely loved it. We ordered the Mekhani chicken, basmati rice, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas and it was all delicious. We also had a mango lassi and masala tea, which were fantastic. The service was great, super kind man who chatted with us a bit. He kindly gave us some free dessert at the end, which was also delicious (I forgot what it was called but it was shredded carrot in a sweet milk with nuts. So good!). It is cash/Venmo only, so be prepared with either.“
“Pretty good food, I liked the Thali with Karahi Paneer, Vegetable Soup and Vegetable Biryani. The food is flavorful no doubt about it, goes to show how good Chef Patel is and he’s been in business for quite sometime now. Portions are good enough and I also liked that you could order the same Entrees as a “side” within reasonable amount. It’s right across of Whole Foods so parking would be validated if you happen to do grocery shopping after your meal, which you might like as an idea, given the food will appreciate some good walk after.Vegetarian options: Vegetable Soup, Vegetable thali with 1 Entree comes with Samosa, Dal, Rice, Salad, Gulab JamunParking: Nearest would be the road side parking spots, free after 8pm which also means it’ll be difficult to find those spots right after 8. Better option is the whole food parking lot, specially if you happen to do some groceries after mealsWheelchair accessibility: Accessible“
“Delicious food! Every dish was solid and exquisite. Overall, I think it's good food but not worth the price, considering how similar quality dishes could be found more accessibly at other indian places. Tried a variety of dishes: Co-li cauliflower - had a good coconut sauce, cauliflower had a good batter (could have been crispier), despite the menu saying "you cannot miss this", this definitely could have been skipped, especially since its a $20 appetizer Dahi puri - yum Samosas - good, but i can also get a similar quality for much cheaper, wasn't anything extra special Malai kofta - YUMMY, greaty creamy curry dish. Chef's kiss Garlic naan - soooo garlicy i love Kulcha - delicious as well, but not a must Mango lassi - good, ive had better, tbh tastes like the store bought ones“
