The parklet at Il Fornaio is well designed and distractions from the street traffic are minimized. The service is superb, and the food is great.

Bad service and cold food. First one there and waited an hour to eat cold fish.

Food was great as usual Service was good. Could have been a bit more attentive to refilling water and other requests, but still a great experience. One thing I noticed was that we were charged for bread. They asked if we wanted bread and we had said yes, but there was no mention that they would charge us for bread which normally they didnt in the past. When questioned about it they said they started charging during Covid. It's not about the charge, it's about being transparent.

Talk about a once dependable, consistent casual dining brand that literally is a shell of its former self. Not sure what has happened to their Burlingame location, which was my go to, but everything about this Italian concept is simply tired. Perhaps the impact of Covid? Lack of staff? There was just no touch of that Italian F&B magic anymore. Sad.

Another wonderfully delicious meal. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal there. And I have tried many things on their menu. But the daily specials are winners too. Heather was our server and she is a star. She is very sweet but best she knows the menu and gives very good suggestions.

Same old Il Fornaio but the menu seems less extensive. They also now charge you $2.00 if you want bread. But, if you do that, you don't get the variety of breads they used to have (olive loaf), just maybe 5-6 slices of french bread.

Something happened during covid. The food is not very good anymore. Gave it 3 chances. We’re done.

We had a nice lunch outside which was great. Food was very nice and service was good. The servers seemed a little over attentive, two sets of servers who were not coordinating kept asking if we needed anything. Better to have more service than less though in my opinion!

I had the petrale sole special -- it wasn't bad, but not great. Gelati misti desert was excellent. The service was very good. The one thing that bothered me was the noise made by the staff when they cleared away the heaters in the outdoor area as the restaurant neared closing time. It seems they should have waited till we had left.

The tomatoes on the Bruschetta and the pomodoro salad were absolutely tasteless. No bread was brought until requested when the main courses were served. The food was so-so for me (Pacheri alla vodka), but the salmon looked good for two of the other diners. One person had a pizza, and it looked OK. We ate outside so there was no ambience to report. The inside remains light and spacious and well appointed. as it has been over the years. It was three diner's birthday, and the management knew it, and made no effort to acknowledge it in any way other then when I checked in. All in all it was a disappointing lunch.
