It lives up to it's name!Invited here by some friends who are here every Saturday. Small and intimate place and the staff were very welcoming, even drinking with you when you offer.Had a variation of things, including Sashimi I can't name them all.
Kanpai has been one of my family's favorite Japanese restaurants for at least 2 decades. We dined here tonight for their Beef Sukiyaki. It seems like Kanpai is the ONLY Japanese restaurant in Chula Vista that I know of that has Beef Sukiyaki. The ambiance: From their wooden pendant lighting fixtures to their modern wooden chairs . Average ok. food.,plus expensive for a little Sushi place.Not planning to go there often., also has menu options incase don't care for Sushi ? etc., the chef at the bar conter is great helping you w/menu. I wish they a had combo specials at reasonable prices.Vegetarian options: not sure
