The food was excellent! I had the carne asada plate, and my wife had her FIRST ever chicken taquitos! Very tasty food, big portions, reasonable price. Kind of a hole in the wall location, but worth the effort. Juan is one good cook, and Javier is accommodating and helpful. Nelson and Orange, careful as the street is old school and narrow and parking lot is small. If you do not go there, fine, that will leave me more to eat!! Another staple in a long tradition of LA eateries, Tasty Choice serves Chicano soul food in the tradition of a Jim's or Tam's. With a menu as eclectic as the city itself, and reliable weekend staples like Menudo and Birria, there's something for everyone (probably except vegans).

When the place isn't packed they make some beautiful and great tasting food. I have an el pastor torta very often. very delicious. This place blows the taco trucks in the area out of the water.
