We all deserve a second chance and II Fornaio is not exempt. I was told to try this place for a nice meal. My family visited this establishment a few weeks back. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences ever. Lack of attentiveness, service, taste, & dining experience. We are locals in Coronado and have dined at Il Fornaio regularly for lunch for many years. We enjoy the fine quality of the cuisine and the rotating specials which keeps us coming back for something different. The big bonus is that on most Monday’s to Wednesday’s we can bring our own bottle of wine without paying a corkage fee. Good place to enjoy a view and a decent Italian bite if you find yourself on Coronado Island. The Tagliatelle Bolognese had a nice flavor and was a generous portion. The Lasagna Ferrarese looked amazing coming out tasted pretty good. Both dishes could have used tad bit more seasoning but overall food quality way better than Olive Garden as other reviews mentioned.
