“I was planning a nice dinner for my boyfriend and my good friend highly recommended Kai wagyu. The store is conveniently located near south coast plaza, so I stopped by after running some errands. The store itself is small, but very nicely setup. The girl who helped me was very knowledgeable and helped me make the best choice for my meal. I went with the A5 Japanese wagyu. She told me how to cook it and even gave me an instruction card so I wouldn't forget later. It turned out perfect. I would definitely recommend“
“We waited over 2 hours to be seated on a Friday night but it was well worth the wait. It is honestly the best sushi I've had in awhile and for a price you can't beat. I can see why this place is highly rated on yelp. The quality of the fish was great, the taste was amazing, the service was prompt and friendly. It is great to see such a busy place run smoothly. “Incredibly fresh fish with generous portions.The classic roles are perfect but even better than those are there unique roles. They balance the flavors really well while also have a nice texture, which is hard to do with sushi!Highly recommend for date night.Also, service was very incredibly good and really fast!!“

“This restaurant had me hooked at fresh wasabi! In my experience only high end or serious sushi restaurants serve fresh wasabi. I have ordered here via Uber Eats at least 4 times in 3 weeks. The spicy tuna on crispy rice is addictive. Also ordered the 12 pc sashimi and it was fresh and delicious. Will try to eat live at restaurant. Highly recommended.“
“This place a hole in a wall guys, lemme put you on seriously from the ambiance to the drinks. The most special is the owner, Goto-san, is super cute and he appeased to my wants and needs. “First time visiting this indoor eatery food court. Interesting interior design with open-space sitting area in the middle of the court and several Japanese eateries dotted the outside circle. I ate at Gyutan Tsukasa and it had a line, but moved quickly. The grilled beef tongue does not disappoint. Definitely worth a visit.“

“Shabu Shabu is our special date night meal. We like to seak it out wherever we travel to. We really enjoyed our meal here, portions (ordered large meat) were good and ingredients were fresh. This is the first Shabu Shabu I have visited that did not have bok choy and that's my favorite veggie I was disappointed. But they have all the other ingredients, excellent broths and variety of sauces, even egg for dipping. We ate here on a busy Saturday night, it felt like a cafeteria with how the business is run, very efficient but no ambiance for the cost of the meal.“

The omakase was one of the best I've ever had, we got so lucky that the owner was there and cooked for us! The fish was so fresh and the service was great too. It's a small restaurant so they are very attentive. The only thing to know is that the parking lot is small and fills up quickly, so get there early to find parking or Uber/lyft!“
