We LOVE Mother India! We have come here for years and the food is always consistently delicious. The ambiance is ok, but we don't really come here for that. The family who runs it is also very nice. Be patient with the time it takes to get your food, because it's worth it!
I got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. I have to say I was impressed with what I had. I've tried chicken tikka masala at most Indian/Pakistani joints in the area and most are either too watery and not creamy at all, or creamy but still too loose. And in both cases, they tend to be quite bland. The chicken tikka masala I got here was similar to the chicken makhani I had in Delhi a few years ago: thick, rich, and unctuous. This was our favorite Indian restaurant, and we've been coming here since 1993. Sadly, we stopped by yesterday, January 30, 2022, and there was a sign from the Orange County Sherriff's Office. Mother India was evicted from this location, and the restaurant is closed. :-(
