Interesting and unique bakery goods coming from a white man's perspective. I was staying at a nearby hotel that didn't have breakfast so I was looking for a quick bite to eat nearby. How time flies, I can't believe it's been seven years since my last review of this spot. Sheng Kee cakes are still the default option for all family birthdays, but the quality of the taro cake especially is no longer the same. In fact, it's become a birthday tradition to talk about how the cake experience gets a bit worse every year. Sheng Kee has been my go-to the past few months. My mom and I always come back for more of the Taiwan Toast when we run out. It's probably one of my favorite breads right now. The chew is so nice, and it's so consistent!
